I got a back up battery that automatically kicks on incase the power goes out.. The battery doesn’t last very long (about 2hours) but it has an alarm that beeps to let me know it’s running off battery power.. but sorry to hear this! This sucks BIG-TIME..

Oh noooo! I am sorry for your loss :( i dont want to talk rude but this vevo "incubator" but for me this is just an expensive egg cooker, and nothing i would never rely on! To be honest would recommend one of these, i have two of them..they look ugly but they never failed for me theyre from company BRUJA. I hope it helps for the future. They can save the settings while having power failure..You can put an alarm on them, they stop heating if its 0,1 degrees difference and even they can show if humity is too low/to high..i recommend them 100%. Its sad and i feel really sorry for you. many hugs <3

Jo I’m soo soo sorry!!! I have this incubator but where we have to reset our electric daily we have the reptiles on a generator which will be getting upgraded to a solar system in the next year! I’m so so sorry Jo I can’t imagine how you are feeling right now!

Dang that frickin sucks man. 😕 Not the first horror story Ive seen on these incubators. You might have to go full 'Office Space' on that piece of junk. Or use the core and DIY your own with some heat tape a thermostat and a computer fan.

Sorry to hear about this Joe. Thunderstorm and Snowstorm power outages are one of my biggest fears, specifically because I have some equipment that does reset to defaults when the power is turned off.

last time you showed that incubator I believe I told you to change it out because this same thing happened to me with the one I had .I hate those incubators I am so sorry this happened to you .. some times those incubators start cooling and drop the temps to 34 F they are crazy .. don't beat your self up its not your fault

At least it didn't happen when it was full, I mean you did successfully hatch 44 babies. Additionally, don't consider it a 10-12K hit....there were no guarantees that every one of those hatchlings would be $1000 animals. It's a hobby for you, right, not your main business/source of income. There are a myriad of things that can go wrong when keeping/breeding. This sucks, but it's not the worst thing that could happen. Question : If people warned you about the incubator, why did you buy it or continue to use it?✌️♥️🐍

Im sorry this happened... my suggestion is just set a room or your whole house/apartment to 80 degrees. I have just incubated many eggs in my apartment. I just make sure i check the ambient temp of my apartment and set it in an area is constant.

Hey, thanks so much for this. I assumed my 11 year old hognose had retained caps but after the vet poked him a lot I realised that maybe he didn’t and maybe he’s got a different eye issue. I’m so annoyed with the vet because now he’s injured one of his eyes and he’s worse off than before. His eyes have opaque yellowish centres, though I can still see his brown irises. They look quite different to the milky appearance which covers the whole eye that I see online for retained caps. Have you heard of this in your extensive experience please? I’m sad that I’ve failed my snake 😢

I got a baby hognose snake and every time I try to handle her she literally flies out of my hands I can't even take her out of the enclosure. I put my hand in front of her like you said and she flew over my other hand and then dove into her tank and was flying around like a maniac. I have a ball python who's always liked to be held so I don't know what to do
