Hello! I’m Farman a.k.a The Auto Chap. The premise of my channel is simple - my videos:
- are step-by-step with every minute detail described
- are easily understandable with every step shown on camera - none of that "you can do this yourself, it’s really easy"
- may infect you with the auto DIY bug. Potential side effects include increased savings.
I’m an electrical engineer by profession and work a 9-5 job in addition to shooting, editing and voicing my videos - all solo. The attention to detail I strive for means every video takes an incredible amount of time, effort and money to make. The end result makes it worth it!
If you'd like to help support my channel you can:

It's not an obligation by any means. I hope you enjoy my videos and don't forget to like, subscribe and leave a comment!

How to change transmission fluid on a Toyota Sequoia, Tundra | 2000-04 (1st generation)
‣ You can help support this channel by buying me a coffee!
www.buymeacoffee.com/theautochap
In today's video I will show you step-by-step how to change the automatic transmission fluid (ATF) on a 2004 Toyota Sequoia. The process is same for any 2001-04 Toyota Sequoia (2WD) or a 2000-04 Toyota Tundra (2WD).
The process is different for 2005+ models as those do not come with a dipstick, and use a different type of transmission fluid. As a result, this video is not applicable to those model years.

I buying 3 cups of coffee. Love the video. Proud owner of 4 Lexus and a few more to come
I replaced my latch and actuator because both were bad, now the latch works as it is supposed to but the drivers door lock does the exact opposite of the other three locks when using the electronic lock buttons. And if you use the lock barrels in the doors it no longer locks all four doors. The video is amazing however.

Great job man - thanks for sharing ! Take care of that beast

Finally can someone answer my question which is a better sc400 or sc430 ?
Sc430 is a very chunky luxury cruiser and I believe it was only available as a convertible (hence the heft). Nothing wrong with it, but if you have any notion of wanting a driver's car the sc400 is better. If you have to ask the SC430 is probably the better choice.
@@eikonise I agree ..so bottom line it depends on one’s choice of what to choose
Do you push the tab toward the wires, or pry it away from the wires when you're trying to disconnect the wires? When you're removing the coil.
Here's my experience: First time I didn't have ramps or a good place to jack up the car, so I got my suction pump and sucked out about 1 quart via the dipstick. Expected more but no big deal, put a quart of T4 in, drove around for a week no big deal. Week later I acquire the plastic ramps from Harbor Freight. Drained the pan after driving a half hour and only got 1.5 quarts out, replaced. Expected to get more out this way. Am I missing something here? Levels look ok on dipstick.
Very informative sir. Thank you! I especially got very much needed information on the motor mounts since a car have have thats not an SC is doing that and now i have an idea on how to fix it.
This was a perfect video. Replaced the actuator on my 2005 Tundra using the steps in this video. Saved me a lot of money and helped me resolve a door lock issue I have had for at least 10 years. Took about 2 hours.

Do you happen to know what fuse needs to be replaced to fix the stuck steering wheel ? mine doesn’t do a thing when I press the button and it’s stuck all the way upwards
I have the same car and I had a power steering stop working. drove it up a mountain when I came back down I parked it and the next time I tried to drive it the steering was HARD, any idea what the problem could be I did a flush like the video It didn't fix it but maybe slightly easier?
Watched almost all the gs300 videos for my family's car and honestly kinda jealous, if you're committed to these sc videos i might get one or another gs
i think you maybe skipped over removing the intake manifold that the fuel rail attaches to
I suggest you rewatch the video - I clearly state how to remove the lower intake manifold that the fuel rail attaches to at 26:54 .
Great great video.
Brother I have question my supplier gave me this mount part no. is correct but the the top rubber is high and the supporting bracket too low to mount on it. I don’t want force, or do I need to press down the rubber bolt for the new mount?
You shouldn’t have to press down on the rubber to install it. If it doesn’t seem to fit without excessive manipulation / massaging, I would double check the part number and also compare it to the old mount if you have it off.
@@theautochap I have research and study. So basically the right mount is originally in the above position for the rubber to slide down, in case the bottom 2 mounts worn and the engine lowered the right top mount secondary function is to show that the level the engine drop. So as to say a new one the bolted rubber will be to the top end. Used or worn will be lowered naturally as mentioned above. I have picture of the new and old mounts. Thanks for replying. Reply if u think untrue or agree thanks brother.
You make look easy. Thank you.

@@theautochapdamn bro I replaced it but it’s not working the whole time it keeps dying, it’s my motor that’s giving out
I enjoyed the video "Chap". I believe the lower control arms on Supras are metal compared to the Lexus; which are aluminium. Designed for different steering feel.
You are correct! The Supra arms are reported to be made from cast iron, and the Lexus ones from aluminum which is why they are more expensive. The bushings on the Supra arms are also known to be stiffer than the Lexus bushings. Thanks for watching!
There are some steps that are n I t required for NON-VVTI ge heads. The is a vvti 2jzge head(no distributor, intake cam is completely different for starters). Just keep this detail in mind if you're watching and you have a 92-94 sc300 with a ge non vvti cylinder head.
Good point! However the non vvti head on SC 300s is 1992-97, not just 92-94.
As always great video!! Very informative and great step by step instructions!
It'll be a life saver if you can 3D print discontinued trim pieces. I do believe the center air vent piece has been 3D printed already.
You might be right on the ac vent trim piece, however I did search quite a bit and couldn’t find a 3D printed piece anywhere. The window trim piece is extremely difficult due to it’s complex shape and sheer size. Getting an exact fit to both the window and the door panel will take a lot of tinkering both in CAD and 3D printing, however I’m pretty motivated as that’s pretty much the last broken trim piece in my car. It would be really cool to offer a 3D printed solution to this problem, as the parts are long since discontinued and literally every SC has this issue. Thanks for watching and leaving a comment!
@@theautochap I always wanted to get into 3D printing, but I think that'll be the last thing on my mind after I do all the mechanics I want to do with my SC300.
Following these steps made me convident that I can do it!
