Played on an 1890 WA Cole banjo tuned to G. [gDGBD] I would urge clawhammer players to visit mossycreek. A site full of a whole bunch of good banjo tabs. stringband.mossyroof.com I am not affiliated with them but I do visit their site often.

Played on a fretless banjo tuned to g#BEBE. I don't post a video of me playing anymore because I am using a different recording setup that really picks up the sound well but not the video. I'm nothing to look at anyhow. Long ago I realized that it is not about me, it is about the music. Take care. NOTE: I said in the video that this is in the key of "B", some call it the key of "E". Whatever!

A very simple version of The Bonnie Blue Flag. Tuned gCGCD. The banjo is a 1924 Vega style N with a reproduction neck by Wyatt Fawley.

    Scioto is derived from a Wyandot word for deer. The Shenandoah River, incidentally, derives its name from another Indian language, and also means deer. The Indians living near the Scioto were Shawnee and not Wyandot. The Wyandot were in Ohio at one point before migrating to Oklahoma. The Shawnee were in Ohio before the Wyandot arrived.

    Could you possibly post a video of Marching Through Georgia in G? Your version in C is the best one I've heard in that key.

    Don't have a tab. I play by ear. I play this in Double C and in G depending upon which banjo I have at the time. I just listen to the tune over and over until I have it and then I"find it" on the instrument. Thanks for listening.

    Thanks, nice to know someone is actually interested in this tune. I did make a mental error saying it is in B. It is, of course, in E.

    I hope I responded to you before this. If not I am sorry. Answer is yes. It is in Mel Bay's "Frailing the 5-string Banjo",written in 1973. I can send the tab to you if you provide an e-mail address.

  • @choahow
    @choahow 12 років тому

    Thomas, I need to send it as an attachment to an e-mail. I'm afraid that I am not as technoefficient to be able to do it through youtube and cannot figure out how else to do it. just send an e-mail address and it will be off. Bill
