Okay, this was depressing. I knew from the moment Edgeworth was found guilty that it was gonna be dark, but I did not expect it to be *that* dark ! This is definitely Miles (I'm not sorry for that pun >:D ) worse than Farewell, My Turnabout's bad ending.
Yeah, I sort of randomly thought up that this might've made sense if this had happened in-game, considering his "suicide" already by the end of the game. Only this time it wasn't faked, considering the circumstances. Haha, no worries, puns are my life force, great one! I'd say it probably is, yeah.
What a dark ending ! I really felt sad that Edgeworth lost his will to live and Phoenix gave up on being the dream . Now , I will thank the Lord every day that this didn't come true ! But this was a fantastic one ! There is an idea I can suggest - A scenario where Gregory Edgeworth is not shot dead , but falls in a coma after the bullet narrowly misses his heart , and wakes 16 years later to reconcile with Miles and find the truth about his attempted murder by Manfred Von Karma . A day comes where Raymond Shields is accused of a murder and Gregory is defending .......with Miles as the prosecutor ! That would a great battle , worthy of Ace Attorney ! So let me know what you think and keep up with the great work !
Ah, thank you so much, I’m so glad you enjoyed it! Oh wow, that’s actually quite the interesting idea…what a curious timeline that would be. I wonder if things would’ve still turned out the same had he known his father hadn’t been killed? Perhaps he would’ve had more resilience to become an attorney if he knew that his father may one day awaken. But it’s certainly an idea to have his prosecute a trial his father was defending, I can’t even begin to imagine the emotion and tension that would occur. Thanks again for your support!

Neat video! If I could offer any advice, I'd probably speed the dialogue of the text up more. It feels kinda slow at times, the text is a little faster in the usual games so it feels like someone actually talking at a normal pace.
I’m glad you enjoyed it! Huh, I usually keep the normal lines of dialogue at the default text speed of 35 and speed up and slow down when necessary for effect, but maybe I should toy with the default a little more…thanks!
The problem is that Maya did not know about her Magatama's abilities, and only learned about them in T&T
Yeah, I thought about that while making it, but there wasn’t exactly any other work around so since this is a what if scenario I just went with her having learned earlier. I give a little hint that Pearl had told her about it back in the village and she was relaying the explanation she was given for her to Phoenix.
this is such a cool idea and gives a good impression of how you can believe something so strongly that for yourself it is the truth but in reality it is not, when I saw how sad edgeworth is and he thought he had done that to his father it but then the Psyche-Locks reveal it's not true oh i want so much to scream and just hug edgeworth honestly he deserves everything good, wonderful work on this love it a lot

Magatamas, plus pesenting profiles as well, are things I'm really glad were introduced but you kind of miss them a little when you revisit the first game. Imagine the "ooooh what's gonna happen" feeling while hovering over Von Karma's profile in Turnabout Goodbyes, or being met with Lana's absolute monsters of psyche locks, and watching them shatter one by one when you dig into the truth of Gant's blackmail. That assumes Maya would let Phoenix keep the magatama after she leaves for training though. If it's a spare, she'd totally let him have it to remember her by while she's away
Very true! The weird thing about presenting profiles is that it’s only in JFA and T&T, because then it’s unfortunately taken out of the Investigations games AND the Apollo Justice trilogy…at least Psyche-Locks come back, though, albeit a bit nerfed.

There's a moment at the very end of Rise from the Ashes's final investigation that... looking back, seemed like a Psyche-Lock segment before Psyche-Locks could be seen. I want to see the final Lana conversation adapted into a Psyche-Lock sequence.
I should take a look at that conversation, because I was planning on making part of this video in RFTA originally. That may be a fun thing to do.
imagine an alternate second case: - Ray Shields is killed by Redd White - Him and Kay Faraday are family friends, and were supposed to meet up (same as Mia and Maya obviously) - Kay discoveres the body and is arrested by Detective Lang - Prosecutor is Phoenix Wright - Edgeworth defends/investigates with Kay - Edgeworth wins the case and Kay becomes his assistant the idea for the AU is honestly amazing, it's like Undertale and Underswap if you've heard of that

There are many contradictions I could point out? How would Edgeworth remember Mia after 6 years, how did Edgeworth know it was a clock? How did Gumshoe not recognize Edgeworth?
This is supposed to be an alternate universe that doesn’t take place on the original time line, so DL-6 never happened.
I keep cringing with your repeated description of the magatama as a "lie detector". It detects when people hold secrets within their hearts they're afraid are in threat of getting out. The difference is subtle but important. It wouldn't activate if someone who is really short claimed they're really tall.

True. If that was the case, every witness would have their own psyche lock. Even Apollo's power is used only when there's something a witness DESPERATELY wants to hide.

Yeah, unfortunately I hadn’t gotten that far in Dual Destinies yet, so I didn’t fully understand how they worked yet, so I decided to play it safe and keep them red.
Very good video, I wonder if you will do a remake to change Edgeworth psyche lock to black since they are use for repression memory or when someone is very dilusional.

5:32 I'm pretty sure the scene was suppose to be serious, but that music made it hard to take seriously. It honestly made it sound more like a prank phone call 9:20 Honestly kinda strange that Yew didn't just give Kay her location, would've made things a whole lot easier for both parties. I would suggest that Yew gave Kay a location to meet up (one that isn't near where Edgeworth is being held), but Kay refused to take the bait, and chose to try down to track-down Edgeworth instead 13:34 This is a very cool way to close the first episode: showing how Kay relied on Edgeworth during investigations, but now she's on her own. It shows a bit of character development with her Overall, it is a very exciting storyline, I do like how it's focused more on Kay, and I'm glad she's finally getting the spotlight she deserved. There were a few missed opportunities for some funny scenes with Edgeworth freaking out over his capture, and Yew laughing at his reaction, but overall, it was very well done!
Haha, fair, Yew’s theme is pretty goofy because of what kind of character she is. Perhaps I should’ve used something akin to Crisis of Fate instead. Huh, I never thought of doing that honestly. That could’ve worked, though. Now that I think about it, it was kind of strange to just have her be like “oh, bring me the stuff” and then, well, NOT tell her where she can receive said stuff. Oh, well, thank you! I’m glad you ended up liking it still. Ha, fair, I wasn’t entirely certain how Edgeworth would handle the situation, other than the fact he probably wouldn’t go completely crazy like most people, so I pretty much had him stay calm and collected but also still a little concerned. So, in hindsight, I look back on this project, and I do think I could’ve definitely written it significantly better than I did. So thank you for the critiques, I really appreciate i!
So did Gregory still died in this AU? Or was it Phoenix who lost both of his parents? Because DL6 is like THE canon event.
Since this was based upon the au I’m writing, Gregory’s still alive, and there was a different event in Phoenix’s life that caused him to become a prosecutor. But since I’ve started extending this into a rewrite of the actual series, I’ll most likely be switching DL-6 to Phoenix instead if I ever get to Turnabout Goodbyes.

That reminds me. In rise from the ashes there's this last bit in the detention center with Lana Skye that is just them trying to create a magatama segment without doing a magatama segment. The one where Lana admits to being manipulated by Gant.
Oh, really? It’s been a bit since I finish RFTA, so I don’t remember every detail. That could be something I could try adapting as well, if I ever wanted to make a sequel to this in that case, considering this video was originally going to include a segment in RFTA before I thought of the other ideas rooted in Turnabout Goodbyes.

Oh, yes, this is a critique I’ve been getting a lot! In hindsight, I probably should’ve used black Psyche-Locks, but I didn’t fully understand how they worked yet since I hadn’t gotten to the right part in DD to have an understanding of them, so I just used red ones to be safe in case I misused them.
