In future videos I will be comparing it to the main competitors from Makita, Milwaukee, Stihl and any others I can get my hands on. Stay tuned for more to come...

Blade Edger Comparison Stihl Petrol vs Husqvarna Battery
Thank you for the video. Blessings to you.
Thanks for watching 🙏
I finally took the plunger and purchased this. Had to save alot to get it but couldn't be happier. The balance, power and quiet operation is an unbeatable combo. Very happy with my purchase and glad to see the back of my two stroke!
Yes! Nice work mate. Best battery snippy on the market 🤙🏻
How long will it actually run for? Not the advertised, but the real amount of time
@mad4tar77 very hard to answer that question accurately. Depends on loads of different things. But on average you get about the same as a tank and half or two tanks for petrol in something like the 525LSt as an example.
Filmed with a potatoe
Nah mate it was a cauliflower
Hello! Can I ask you some things about HSA 94T? Get used machine, mechanism seems OK, but there is real heating (very hot to touch with hand - about 50-60 Celcius) of bottom plate after 10-15 minutes of work. Is it normal? And How understand that I'm not overgreased the gear box? THANKS!
I bought a unbreakable wired trimmer can the stringcomw off to mount it
Not sure to be honest mate. Cheers
a very good and neutral review... i just ain't decide a battery or motor hedger... i love Husqvarna , they are a little underestimated because Stihl has got the biggest marketing program! But anyway very interesting , so thank you very much !
Thanks for watching. I love the battery hedgers. Haven’t used a petrol one in years now. Don’t think I ever will either. 👍🏻
Thanks for your time and review..👍🏴
Thanks for watching 👍🏻
Would love to see some footage of it mulching
Standby mate, as soon as the lawns start to grow again properly I’ll get some more footage of it mulching. 👍🏻
I love all my Battery gear but I have never purchased a battery mower, If your still mowing with this mower by the end of February it may be the one 😃
Haha I’ll keep you posted. So far it’s been good. Few small niggles which I’ll talk about in an upcoming video but yeah, the summer will be here real test for it. I’ve not been sold on the battery mowers up until now either. Will see how this goes through the upcoming season
notice in the back you have the stihl hsa94 are they any good.
Yeah it’s a brilliant hedger just the cable coming out the back gets in the way all the time.
Great video I just bought a hHLA66 for domestic use son in law has a HLA 56 when comparing a HLA 66 to a HLA 135 you should mention the 135 is nearly twice the price (well in UK it Is)so cant really compare like for like And the Husqvarna with a metal gearbox base is 1/3 dearer again but a very informative video so thank you atb
Electric garden equipment is garbage. It takes twice as long with this equipment than it does with petrol.
Doesn’t take me twice as long. Reckon you might be using the wrong gear. I love the battery tools.
Thanks for the review. Had mine for a few months now. 3 things that drive me nuts: the tongue part on the bag gets stuck, the self propelled will not engage if it is rolling back at all which is a real kicker when your rolling back down a hill after a turn and after a little bit the deck starts to build up around the blade tip and it causes a loud whistling type noise. Never heard a mower make a noise like that. Less of an issue is the front end has springs on the height setting so it rattles over bumps. But, battery life is WAY batter than my other dual blade Ego unit and I run this on turbo. Plenty of power to do the job. Would be nice if we could have some control over the self propelled ramp up through the bluetooth app. Unless you have the batteries I don't see any consumer going this route when the aluminum deck consumer is less than half the price for 95% of the features and power. The reason I did, the self propelled doesn't sound like a childs toy like on the consumer models lol.
Hey thanks for watching. Yep I agree with all your points. Plus the slow ramp up of the self propelled is quite frustrating over time. You learn to manage it but yeah having control would be awesome. I also wish the handle design was slightly different with a cut out to allow for better handling. Similar to the Honda 216 handle design. I also don’t like the front bar as it drags when on the lowest height setting going over bumps / curbs etc. all things I will point out in my upcoming update video. 👍🏻
It looks like this model is only released in Australia so far. That thumb control for line length is nifty, it beats tapping the ground all the time.
The first 2 minutes reveals a man trying to mow an already mowed lawn , you can still see the stripes
Yep it’s a weekly customer. Not much fresh growth this time of year. Here in Australia.
Thanks mate… great vid
Thanks for watching 👍🏻
How well does it mulch?
How well does it mulch?
Pretty good. Not excellent but ok
Is the reverse function useful?
It doesn’t have a reverse function. I don’t find it particularly useful on the model that does have it tho.
Big fan of Husqvarna equipment, most of my current equipment is Husqvarna. Unfortunately, the prices for this year in the UK are ridiculous!
Same everywhere for everything mate. Just keeps going up and up.
Whippie is an ice cream in a cone 😂 sure you mean a strimmer 😅
Mmmmmmm whippies lol 🤤
I have the Stihl FSA 135, not 135 R for over 3 years, have used it and I can say abused it with all kind blades so far never have any problem. My personal feeling is that the batteries aren't up to the machine for professional use. This machine deserves a better battery technology.
Yeah it’s a great bit of gear. Stihl reliability is amazing. Does chew the batteries tho so I agree with you there. Thanks for watching.
Ill stick with my Stihl Kma 135r, i love it😊
Nice. It’s a great bit of gear 👍🏻
Hi Husqvarna machines, commercial use Have there been any problems with electrical plugs on these Husqvarna machines The electrical plug must be lubricated once in a while Which lubrication must be used, with silicone? When the machines are pressed and get hot, the plastic in electrical plugs becomes brittle over time, from heat and incorrect lubrication? Otherwise very good machines Doesn't seem like the electrical plug can or must be changed? Any experiences with and will share them publicly, Thanks.

Hi, thanks for watching. Few tools have had to have the triggers replaced over the years. Seems others have experienced this also. But overall I’ve had pretty much zero issues other than standard wear and tear stuff as long as you look after them properly.
In Canada the Husqvarna 220iL has a button to reverse the line direction. Makes trimming and flinging things towards or away from objects a dream. Also comes with a speed feed style head. The included Bli22 battery is a bit lacking though. 25-30 minutes of run time. A 300BLi battery runs $400-440 here. I found a new one a local guy has for $180 i'm going to buy.
The reverse is a handy feature. The 520ilx does the same thing. Great for getting into corners too.
My manual says that the 536LiLX is incompatible for use with metal cutting blades, so it's unlikely they sell such a kit in the UK, and I can't find it on their website. It's strange that they have a different policy in another country. Maybe another model's kit would fit, but that's taking pot luck! I'd really like to get a hold of one of those base plates to put a Speedfeed head on!
I’m pretty sure it’s the same base plate that’s provided for the 525 lst when using the metal cutting blade. Maybe try and locate that and it should fit. 🤞
@@lovelawns I did manage to find the plate on its own. It cost a frankly ridiculous £30.12 including VAT and delivery, $57.44 AUD at current exchange rates! Buying a new T25B head is a fiver cheaper. It's on its way. Once I have it in my hands, I'll try to find a Speedfeed 375 head. There seems to be a lot of third party Chinese companies using the name for their product. If I can't get a Shindaiwa one, at a reasonable price, I have seen a good review of the Rotary 27-13375.
@dalriada842 nice work. It’s much better with the speedfeed. Although it doesn’t work in reverse with the speed feed. Well it does work but you can’t extend the line in reverse. Only anti clockwise. Or clockwise if you load the line the other way.
@@lovelawns I rarely change the rotation direction anyway, so that's not a big deal for me. Maybe the next iteration of the Speedfeed head will advance in both directions. I only change direction when I'm close to my neighbour's windows. I'm on a higher level than my neighbour, and my garden is at my neighbour's window level.
Where do you find the kit? All I can find is the mower solo
I got mine from Karl’s Mowers on the Gild Coast. Think Sydney Tools do the kit too and probably the other tool shops. Cheers
@@lovelawns I'm in the United States. But thanks for responding!
@spartakos3178 ah, no idea then lol. Try Lowes
Really excellent machine, I've been using it a few months full time, but mine broke unfortunately and sitting in a shop for who knows how long until fixed. Bent shaft allegedly but I can't confirm, there's a rattling noise and vibration coming from the top of the shaft or inside the head near the motor somewhere.
Husqvarna warranty are usually very good. Hope you get it back quickly. Cheers.
How long does it run at full power on one charge
Check Husqvarna website. They have all the details. Cheers
How does this stack up against the 522HDR75X? I get about an hour of run time, and only a few seconds to refuel. It will also go through an inch and a half if necessary!
I haven’t used a petrol hedger in about 3 years mate. Can’t imagine I ever will to be honest. I haven’t compared that particular one but I doubt you’d be disappointed.
I returned this mower to the dealer after the self propel mechanism stopped working on the first cut with 25 minutes of use. Disappointing!!!
That sucks mate. Did you not want to get it fixed and try again? Not really what you expect from a fairly expensive commercial grade mower tho. I’ve had no dramas with mine yet. 🤞
Battery life ?
Excellent
Thanks so much for this excellent review! Have you been able to find the exact speed of the highest self-propelled setting? Ego lists a top speed of 3.1mph for several other mowers, but doesn’t provide a specification for their commercial model. I’m wondering and hoping it is slightly faster than their non-commercial options.
Thanks. No idea what the official figures are but it’s just plenty fast enough. You would never need it any quicker. It wouldn’t cut properly at full speed. Cheers
4mph people post it on the ego FB page
I haven't used the Husqvarna, though I'd very much like to. But, I just picked up a Makita 40v combi head and have used the Milwaukee extensively. I really like the Milwaukee for quick work, it's light and easy. But in terms of heft and battery life the Makita absolutely smashes it. I'm only running a 5ah and it lasts wayyyy longer and even in speed two is absolutely destroys my 26cc petrol trimmer. Very very very impressed.
Thanks for sharing mate. I like them both too. 🤙🏻
Good review Ki, if you're impressed then I would be. Difficult to gauge I know as it's winter, so a Queensland summer is needed to test it properly. But the question is, would you put your 216 out to pasture and just use the Ego going forward?, cheers Steve.
Hey Steve, thanks for watching mate. I haven’t touched the Hondas since buying this. 👍🏻
How low does the Makita mow? Ego only goes down to 1.5in thats too high for my centipede grass.
20mm on the Makita, same as the new commercial Ego 👍🏻
He is obviously pushing the Makita when testing speed🤣🤣🤣
Obviously 😝
this IS a great mower no doubt, but where I live the mower ALONE is $1300 then you have to buy the batteries what are $1000 for 2, and I dont think that includes any charger. so thats $2300 for a 21" walk behind mower that I will have to spend another $1400+ on for 2 more batteries in 3-4 years ( the inflation rate is 10% per year now). Im sticking with gas. IF they lower the price to a sane level Ill go with EGO gladly.
Yeah it’s not for everyone and is certainly an investment, but most people buy into a system so may already have batteries and chargers which helps. The kit is $2850 here in Aus plus a free battery via redemption. For what it is it’s priced about what I would expect. If you look at similar commercial machines like the Pellenc or Stihl RMA twin blade it’s actually cheap lol.
Hi Mate I check the specs on my mower and it comes with the high lift blade?
Nice! You happy with it?
You may have time to register the mower so they’ll send you the high lift blade for free.
@NickWindham thanks for watching
Please what is the runtime you are getting?
The unit with 2 x 12.0Ah (672W x 2 = 1,344W = 1.344KW) is rated for 120 min. of runtime and it very realistic since I am using average less than two 10.0Ah batteries (1,120W = 1.12KW) on the North American single battery 22"/53 cm model LM2206SP operating average 100 min. per cut every 2~3 days on my property on speed level 2 & Turbo with duel high lift blade set on drive speed 2~4.
@@Jeo-Whatgood data
The Runtime? Have you been getting the advertised 2 hours of Runtime with the 2 12ah batteries?
Yes easily. 👍🏻
At 3:50 Blade speed: FYI, and decent small motor mechanic or car mechanic should have a scope that can help you out - otherwise you can buy one from any tool shop. Otherwise, I have already done it: ECO: 2,690 RPM Level one 2,830 RPM Level two 2,990 RPM
Legend thanks for the info. Do you know what it ramps up to automatically in the thick stuff?
@@lovelawns Cheers … I’m trying to get access to a Local TAFE small engine Dyno as that would be the only way to check ramp-up RPM. EGO did say that unloaded RPM would be at a commercial mower speed of 3,400 RPM, so it would be good to DYNO test to see if other claims are not accurate, like HP and NW For ICE, HP and NW they have to comply with SAE standards. Unfortunately there are currently no standards for electric, so they do a calculation using voltage, Am/Hrs and the number of motor poles. For the record, I mostly love the new EGO commercial Alloy Deck and have recently mowed an overgrown buffalo block at 350mm, and I went straight in at level 3 and it bagged perfectly with no blockages and it didn’t struggle at all with the blade it came with. Admittedly I was walking slow. BTW, you have a beautiful home!
Thank you for posting the rpm as I am interested to know and the result is quiet interesting. I have the North America residential 22" (53 cm) single battery (none Peak Power) sister model SelectCut (dual bladed) LM2206SP with a 1,400W motor (vs 1,600W on LMX5300SP) using the exactly same aluminum deck. After installed the EGO Connect APP and connected with the LM2206SP via Bluetooth, the APP updated the LM2206SP to the newest firmware and provided maximum drive speed control option (default 3.1MPG now able to increase to 4.1MPG as the LMX5300SP can) and the option to Enable/Disable the Super Turbo blade speed when select the Turbo setting. I tested the rpm with a digital photo tachometer at the tip of the optional high lift lower blade (free when register the mower with EGO) and these are the average results with a 12.0Ah battery I done in two different days: Speed 1 (ECO) = 2,629 Speed 2 (Level 1) = 2,830 Turbo (Level 2) = 3,084 Super Turbo (enable through EGO Connect APP) = 3,133 ** According to EGO's 2024 catalog, the No-Load Speed RPM of this mower is 3,100 (on installed standard mulching blade). My current residential original Peak Power 21" LM2142SP mower (EGO's first mower to have the brushless 8.5 ft-lb (down rated to 8.3 ft-lb after the introduction of LM2156SP) motor) with high lift blade installed (no speed selection option on this mower) is running at No-Load Speed of 2,880 rpm while the No-Load Speed RPM is listed at 2,800 rpm in the 2024 catalog (with standard factory installed blade); however, it has ~40% less under deck air flow/recycling space due to the large center motor housing. It's interesting that EGO never advertised the maximum rpm on the 8.3 ft-lb brushless motor but do so on the 22"/53cm models. I believe even at Super Turbo setting, the rpm may still ramp up to the advertised 3,350rpm when encounter heavy resistance... at least I hope so because that is what I am paying for.
@@Jeo-Whatgreat info! Thxx as bid for sharing!!
I agree the thumb control is poorly designed. Something must be up with yours because I never had the mulch issue. Might want to complain to Milwaukee and see if they have a solution.
Thanks mate. Yeah someone else mentioned they spoke to Milwaukee and they sent them an updated mulch plug which was slightly different and it sorted it out. 🤷
Lawn looking tough in winter huh. Winter Here you can't see the grass under feet of snow.
Well yeah I’m referring to where I live not somewhere else on the planet lol.
What is the difference to the iLK?
Dedicated trimmer, geared at the full time commercial user with a few subtle differences and a bit more power. 325iLK still highly recommended though. 👍🏻
Does the deck lift when you engage self propel like the 2156?
Not it doesn’t mate. Solid as a rock
@@lovelawns good to hear !
We replaced our smaller mower a few months back now and were looking at ego but we went for Stihl rma443vc instead as we already had the batteries and charger and didnt want to go into the extra expense of starting fresh with whole new battery ,charger set up, but we will this year need to replace our lc353ivx husqvarna and we are looking at EGO waiting for Groundfest though so we can have a good butchers
This Ego absolutely pisses all over the two battery mowers you mentioned. I’ve used both and they are toys compared to this. This can replace your petrol commercial mower for pretty much everything. You’ll see what I mean at Groundfest 👍🏻
@@lovelawns love to see the EGO on the one lawn we do that even our petrols struggle with , from what youve said and what ive seen they would cope pretty well.
Yep it’s got great power and torque mate.
Looks like that Makita mower is going to take some beating...
Have been chatting to Makita and should have another demo to compare shortly. 👍🏻
Hi can you run it with 1 battery
Hey, yes you can. Cheers
