Incredible End Grain on this Wormy Maple Cutting Board

A custom end grain cutting board I made for a close friend out of wormy maple.
Wormy Maple, or Ambrosia Maple, has a misleading name as the mineral streaks and color variations are actually caused by the Ambrosia Beetle. The beetle infests the live Maple tree, depositing larvae that bore small “worm holes” and discolour the wood to create unique patterns and streaks.
As usual I cut a lot of sanding from the video, but my process is to go from 80 - 320 grit in stages and then finish the edges by hand.
I ran the CNC 3 times initially to fine tune the speed to reduce burning in the juice groove, which would be a pain to sand out after.

New shop needs new workbenches! As the first of many I decided to copy Matthias Wandel's plans for his simple sturdy workbench. A pixel art cutting board based on the iconic Mario Mushroom. The white is maple, black is walnut, and the red is padauk. As usual I skipped a lot of sanding. I sanded with the belt sander at 40 grit post glue up to smooth out the roughness, then more belt sander at 80 grit.
