On Wednesday, April 17th, 2024, Dr. John Inazu, Sally D. Danforth Distinguished Professor of Law & Religion and Professor of Political Science at Washington University in St. Louis, discussed his new book, "Learning to Disagree: The Surprising Path to Navigating Differences with Empathy and Respect," with Professor John Stinneford, Hamilton Center Senior Fellow and Edward Rood Eminent Scholar Chair at UF’s Levin College of Law.
This event was co-sponsored by the Bob Graham Center for Public Service and the William and Grace Dial Center for Speech and Communication Studies.

    Recently listened to the Honesty podcast interview with Melissa Kearney, and really wonder about the emphasis on being married and not just “having two parents”. This feels hopelessly old-fashioned to me and sort of like a personal take. Here in the Netherlands -agreed, not the US, but same difference- me and my girlfriend have been together, unmarried, for 25 years. Most of our friends are also not married. Hardly think about it either. Also, the described form of “privilege” has to do with behavior and choice. The more well-known “privileges” (for instance the “white” and “male” one) are less interchangeable. They even are unescapable.
