JAMES JAMERSON, THE POET OF BASS
Переглядів 2,1 тис.12 років тому
This is my tribute to James Jamerson and to all his fans. I digitally re-created James' bassline on "Sorry is a sorry word" by the Temptations, and also added a funky beat to the track. The result is amazing; this is a majestic example of James' poetry, you can almost hear him speak with his bass by the notes he plays. I hope you will like it, let me know about it, please.

Awesome video. Thank you 🙏
Era?
❤❤❤❤
That man has a bass-player's face. The solid jawline. The mustache. The casual, calm swagger. We should all aspire to such
IG brought me here
Released March 1967 on the Motown Record Label as Motown 1107 and featured on the "Motown Original Artist Karaoke" karaoke CD
Absolutely perfect on any and every angle.

I need home, home cookin', yeah! I need home, home cookin', yeah! It's said, a woman's place Is in the kitchen But in the kitchen, you are a flop Them meals that you been fixin' They ain't nothin' but yesterday's slop An I like, yo' wiggly walk I like yo' baby talk, yeah! You're neat, the way you look But you ain't nothin' If you can't cook I need home, home cookin', yeah! I need home, home cookin', yeah! Hot! I sweat all day I rush back home, to see what you cookin' Your beans are burned You've ruined my place And in the mirror, I find you lookin' Now, I like sweet candied yams And I like homemade ham-hocks Instead of study, how you look You oughta study Yo' mama's cookbook If you want a soul man Get to rattlin', them pots and pans I need home, home cookin' I need home, home cookin' Yeah! Hot gravy That pot roast That pickled beets And sugared toast I like yo' wiggly walk, yeah! An I like yo' way a-talkin' And you look neat, the way you look But you ain't nothin' If you can't cook I need home, home cookin' I'm in the mood For soul food I said, home, home cookin'.
I can’t stop moving my body and grooving with it 🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩
Great Talent
This really shows how tough it was to Cover Jamerson. Even Will Lee struggled to replicate Jamerson syncopation, ghost notes and touch. Jamerson has such strong and firm notes, as well as consistency thru use of his 1-finger technique. It's just super difficult to replicate.
Great song writing Valerie and Nick (RIP).
Zeldzaam lekker.
Sono anni che mi commuovo
Gigione bene così...come as your are...
😂😂😂
I’ve always found myself jamming this bass riff on stuff I write and always trying to figure out why it seems so familiar. Now I know.
For those who don't remember the duo singers in the 70s named the chansons,(don't hold back) the bass player was James jamerson son.
You will NEVER hear music like this again .
👍
I loved this version ❤ 😊
It would be nice if the bass track was louder.
Richard ‘Pistol’ Allen drumming, another Funk Brother Genius and boy could he shuffle 👏👏👏👏
Absolute legends ❤❤❤
love how Jack Asfords tambourine is up in the mix A+
Bravo !
Hate to say it but it sounds better without diana ross. This is is one of a few motown songs im not so keen on and im probably one of motowns biggest fans
Foundation of Motown music 🎶
One of the coldest bass lines to ever be created! Period! They showing out on that percussion, too! Just perfect! This is real musicianship!
Na bomba sta canzone frate🎉😮
This song makes me hungry.
Another Motown signature sound you can hear Is the melding of the guitar and organ on the same note.
Better in mono sound.
It said that Jr. Walker got his name from his family and friends. He was called Junior by his stepfather, and Walker by his friends because he didn't have a bicycle as a youngster so he did all of his errands by feet. So upon entering show business Autry DeWalt Mixon didn't quite have a catch so he decided to put together the name Jr. Walker and it caught on.
Magic!!! Funk Brothers, Wrecking Crew - the heroes!!! What would music be without them?? 💯🎵🎶 I must admit I cried when I watched the SITSOM doc...
