1. Munsiyari
Munsiyari is a comely hamlet situated in the Pithoragarh district of Uttarakhand state, nestled in the snow capped peaks of the Himalayas Munsiyari offers splendid vistas of natural beauteousness. This scenic hill station is perched at an altitude of 2298mts above sea level. Munsiyari literally translated means place with snow, and is also referred as Little Kashmir.
Panchachuli Peaks views: It’s basically a series of five snow-covered peaks and all these are quite clearly visible from pretty much everywhere in Munsiyari. Panchachuli means panch chulha or cooking hearth. Mythology has it that this is the place where the Pandavas, from the epic Mahabharata, cooked their last meal before proceeding towards heaven.
2. Harshil valley
Harsil is an unspoiled and hidden jewel of Uttarakhand state offering ample scope for people seeking peace and serenity in the lap of Himalayas. Niti is a small village located in the Niti valley of Joshimath. Niti is the last village and outpost in Indo-Tibetan border in Chamoli district. At an height of 3600 mtrs, Niti is situated near southern Tibetan border.
The Niti Pass located at 5800 mtrs connects India with Tibet. During winters, Niti village and valley is covered with heavy snow. The villagers of Niti still follow the traditional methods of lifestyle in the mountains.
The only place in Niti Valley where you will find plenty of hotels and resorts is in Joshimath. You can stay at Joshimath Hotels and visit Niti Valley for a day tour. As of now there are no private hotel in the interior of Niti Valley, but you will find Government guest house which is built at Gamshali Village which is just 5 kms before Niti Village.
