Absolutely made my day to hear this treasure. Can't thank you enough for posting this. As someone who has killed the Animal version of this, aboslutely have my socks knocked off, again, by Steve Hunter and Dick Wagner. This is just incredible, much longer than the recorded version, and dare say, better.

Having heard this version about 10 yrs ago, I still cannot think of a better guitar solo...

When Lou died, a famous late night TV host said "New York City just became less cool." This intro is good, but not quite like incredible one on R'n'R Animal - the greatest guitar duet ever.

Ya'll should appreciate this story... After playing R&R Animal until the grooves were gone, the gang lined up for Reed's first visit to Philadelphia's Tower Theater expecting ecstasy. Just before the lights went down I noticed only one guitar on stage. MY GOD... No Wagner, no Hunter, Lou's going to carry the weight as the ONLY guitarist for the evening! We left early..........................

Lead guitar on this is so fucking good. Legitimately like the song would’ve been even better if it included it on the studio version. Very eagles esque sounding

However did I miss this one. Absolutely outstanding. Thanks for posting. I sit in awe.
