Originally, the “Canción al Partido Comunista” (Song to the Communist Party) was written by Anthar López for the Mexican Communist Party. This version is by Banda de la Juventud, belonging to the Collectives of Communist Youth (Colectivos de Jóvenes Comunistas, CJC), which in turn are part of the Communist Workers Party of Spain (PCTE).
The CJC were founded by agreement of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of the Peoples of Spain (PCPE) on January 13, 1985, based on the agreements made at the Congress of Unity of the Communists on January 13, 14 and 15, 1984. Since March 2019, its party reference is the Communist Party of the Workers of Spain (PCTE). This change in loyalty is due to the fact that, after a succession crisis in the PCPE in 2017 between Carmelo Suarez and Astor García, the latter one created the PCTE, which kept the youth organization since it already had its support before. It is also worth noting that Astor García also had the support of the Mexican Communist Party, which may explain the existence of this version.
An interesting detail is that the verse “I ‘don't’ want my blood to flow easily,” is “I want my blood to flow easily,” in the original version, which affects the coherence of the lyrics in this version of the song.
