This was an informative podcast! Brother please avoid the music too
I reallt really want to homeschool. But the socializing is what is giving me amxiety, i myself am pretty introverted and i find it hard to even find other homeschooling moms. I cant evem join a group because i dont drive (due to documentation issues that will take a whle to resolve before i can thnk of getting my license) so i dont know hoa to socialize them. I am really tryin my best but it reallt makes me anxious to think my kids wont socialize.
No its not. U cant give exposure of 30 kids in the same classroom eating, bullying, name calling, laughing, sharing jokes, sharing food, falling, pushing, lending a hand, going through friendships, heartbreaks, learnings, mistakes as a collective union by homeschoolong them. Schools prepare children for the outer world. Parents xan compensate the problems areas when the kods return from school. U should not deprice yor kids from basic right to go to school. Homeschooling is not for mothers who dont have a higher degree in education/teaching.
You have an incorrect view of homeschooling, child psychology, and education. “Exposing” 30+ children to negative things with only one adult around to guide them is practically neglect. When you put 30 emotionally and cognitively immature children in a room they’re going to end up raising each other. You can’t teach a child maturity with immaturity. This is the peer orientation she spoke about in the podcast. Children having negative experiences is a part of life, but they should have a caring adult around to guide them and teach them the skills to deal with it. I highly suggest you read the book Hold Onto Your Kids that she also mentioned. It is a gem. Homeschooling isn’t sitting in a house all day. It is allowing children to learn without all the unnecessary distractions. It’s going out and making friends, having extra time for hobbies, traveling without being tied down by the school calendar, going to the bathroom and eating without asking permission…it’s freedom. And your comment about mothers needing a higher degree to homeschool…the fact that you think a purchased piece of paper is necessary to prove someone’s intelligence is proof that school has failed you.
0:02 Alsalamu Alikum Wa rahmatu Allah May Allah keep you steadfast in islam my nople sister The correct and obligatory hijab includes covering the face with the whole body , and this is the hijab of the female companions and the mothers of the believers RA. After the revelation of the verse of hijab in the Qur’an, the female companions responded to it by covering their faces immediately The jilbab is a thick, very loose fabric that is placed on top of the head and covers the entire body until it covers the feet and exceeds them in length it does not and must not reveal any part of the body or describe its size even the shoulders This means that it is not right to wear a blouse or jacket that describes the shape of the shoulder as a hijab which all do ,and if you browse pictures of Muslim women in all Islamic countries 100 years ago, you will find them all covering their faces. Women uncovered their faces after Western colonialism and secular rule, and you are full of good insha'Allah and not less than the previous Muslim women to strive in obeying Allah and implementing His command May Allah grant you success and happy life in this world and the hereafter. Music is haram please don't use it in the vedio
10:30 do you know what’s more sadder ? Calling the campanions of the messenger of Allah and his wives kuffar and apostates without evidence. Well if you know you know
Great podcast and such an important topic. So glad I was suggested this video. I can relate strongly to the issues discussed. I wanted to comment about children in mosques and centres. I do not think that a ‘child program’ or ‘daycare’ at these majalis are the answer. If the child doesn’t learn to sit with adults and behave (as much as possible) while listening to the lecture and program, how will they do that when they are teenagers or adults. 29:09 I rather keep my young daughters to sit beside me and hope they learn to listen even if they’ll distract me from the majlis.
Respectfully, forcing a child to sit down and listen to a lecture they don’t understand is against the teachings of the Prophet (saw). It’s unislamic as well as developmentally inappropriate. Programs that don’t allow for a space for children under the age of 7 to play freely will create negative associations for them. If you speak to a lot of people that left Islam, they will mention how they were treated as a child when they visited the mosque. Your fear of “if they don’t do this now they won’t do it when they are older” is catastrophizing and a reason why a lot of parents make the decisions they do but frankly, fear isn’t always a good influence. Don’t make it hard on yourself and just follow what the Prophet’s (saw) advises that subhanAllah most child psychologists also advise.
Great podcast. I’m planning to home school inshAllah and this just solidified my decision Alhamdulillah. I also grew up in the same circumstances with my parents, my siblings and I also refer to ourselves as hybrids 😂
I think this is the longest podcast I have listened to in a while but totally worth listening to. Loved all the different topics discussed, and definitely would love to see another video explaining little more how to start the process of homeschooling for anyone considering it but is lost where to begin ❤
Thank you! This won’t be the last time discussing for sure. It’s my first time learning about it so I’m left with so many questions that I’ll get answered on this podcast
I am so happy that this is being discussed! I am a big advocate of homeschooling. There are so many misconceptions out there about homeschooling. I can relate to a lot of this.
That’s awesome! More of this to come

Really enjoyed this- thanks!
I’m glad!
I appreciate the variety in this channel! Keep them coming
I appreciate you tuning in!
I think she’s talking about Shirk.. associating partners with God. No human can be perfect or untouchable
#1 Thing I hate is when muslims think its fine to put your kids in school because its "free". It is not.
The audio of this podcast is extremely low and both speakers have quiet voices 😓 so the topic I was especially excited about. Please ensure that your upcoming podcast are a bit louder.
The volume is good on my end. Maybe turn it up on your device…?
I’ll double check and make sure their better for the next episode! Thank you for the feedback
So fascinating how her mom was exposed and still exposed to the beauty of Islam through her own children but never accepted Islam. Allah truly guides whoever He wills
Subhanallah, it’s really fascinating
Some people do not believe, some are pressured by families & Some like to stay in status quo
As a 36 year old woman who grew up here and have been wearing hijab at the age of 10, I truly don’t understand why girls are making hijab bigger than what it is. If you are confident in Allah, in his rulings and judgement, and in hijab, then you don’t need to keep questioning hijab, feeling lonely, or all having all the lack of self confidence for wearing it. It might be just me or there might be a few others like me, but hijab is not all that hard if you’ve truly understood the meaning behind it and if your goal is only to make Allah and Imam Almahdi happy with you.
Can we have more of this - try to find hybrids but their mother/father converted to Islam and their challenges growing up
Absolutely! You can expect more of this moving forward
A topic that I think about a lot now that I’m older is the inferiority complex that came with being first gen. Your guests all seem to have reconciled their identity with what the west has to offer, and it seems like they do so without compromise. Do you think you could try to inquire about this during your interviews?
That’s a very nice way of putting it. I’m on it 🫡
i just began listening to your podcast with this video as i found it through instagram. love the authenticity. will definitely be looking forward to seeing more videos like this about gender roles in such a changing society. could you please think about doing a video concerning balancing religious studies and university studies?
Thank you so much! I really appreciate it. Absolutely, I’ll write the topic down and see who would be able to teach us about it
We are home schooling our 4 year old daughter and I can definitely relate to all her emotions and anxiety about homeschooling school. But with talking to several moms from the community who have been homeschooling, I was encouraged and felt comfortable enough to go with it. We are part of a Shia co-op made up of other home school parents, which is nature and project based learning. We do that 3 days/half days and the other two days we do languages arts, math and Arabic at home.
That’s amazing! I wish you the best of luck. From everything I learned, this is no easy task
Great episode! I’m grappling with the idea of home schooling and this is exactly what I wanted needed Audio is a little low
I’m glad it was able to help! I’ll work on the audio for the coming episode
Very good podcast. It's worth listening to it 🫡
I appreciate it! Thank you
Okay, finally finished this great episode. I think the next guest should be a diaper changing dad.
Never say never 👀
@@podnotfromhere it’s an opportunity to bond with your kid that too many dads skip out on. If I ever changed her outside the home it was always met with confusion or being pressured by a woman into letting her do it.
I really wish I could homeschool my kids. My 5yr old is about to start kindergarten and my 3yr old in preschool (first time not being home for both) and I'm experiencing the exact same anxiety she described. Unfortunately, I have to work for my household. I just pray Allah swt protects them and watches over them and I can keep up with being as involved and supportive as possible. May Allah swt help and protect all the Ummah and their children.
Inshallah 🙌🏻
We love Summar ❤ she was my inspiration to homeschool after seeing how bright, well-behaved and intelligent her kids were. Our family is one year in and she's been such a big help in our journey. Grateful to call her a friend 🙏🏻 Homeschooling has been the best decision for us, we truly feel like we're a family again, not spending our days dropping the kids off from one spot to the other has been such a relief and i truly beleive it saved our family's spiritual essence and our kids' fitra. Thanks for bringing this topic up on the podcast, I'm sure it'll debunk a lot of the misconceptions!
That's amazing! Glad you enjoyed it!

You are summiting to Allah, not to God!! The god Lah, is de moon god. The God of the bible is the real GOD!! Learn more about islam, moslims etc find here on youtube a guy called "Christian Prince".
Allah means God in Arabic, its the same god as in the bible and the Torah as there is only one god
@@peachykpop9611 NO! The word Allah was used before islam and was a pagan diety/god used by dessert people at that time. The first part of the word Allah is AL and means the god, the secound word is the name of that god. So the Allah reads: the god Lah. Google it Lah is the moon god. So moslims beleave in a pagan false god. Who is not the same God of the bible and Thora!!
