Hey man! I loved your video. It's a good thing that you're trying to keep it real now. I know you're going to make something great out of that EF / ED6. I have had mine for over 10 years, and I just recently started to put some love in it because it's really expensive.

I got a 89 CRX with the D16A9 Motor. DOHC 124hp. Too bad the engine wasn't available in the USA. The car weighs 920k and is incredible to drive. The chassis and engine are really good. I didn't expect a small 1.6 liter engine to have so much torque down low. I have driven NA and NB Miata's for 9 years and the Honda engine is without a doubt superior to the 1.6 engine from the NA Miata. I also find it better than the 1.9 from the NB. The Honda engine feels livelier and loves to rev.

D15B2 is actually pretty reliable, my DX has been saving me money lmao, and they don’t burn oil so fast like the B-series would normally do

This hapened to me very recently, bought an A3 8L PD160 "frankenstein swap". Looking to sell it to buy an EF and this video helped alot! The swap is awsome tho its just no well done at all.

I’ve had 3 EF’s from the 1.3 GL to an EE9, and none of them I’ve needed to let warm up for 5-10 mins before driving, or had any idling issues at all. Key in, turn and start, then set off. I think your EF is knackered mate 😂

Wow, I got lucky. Just picked up a 90 with d15b. It’s not clean by any means and someone wired the engine with their teeth but I’ll make it run right. The engine has great compression

I have 3 of EF sedan.. EF its nice from everything. For power k swap or b series its too much for the ef bc it's very light. If you want it for show just lower it... 3 it's cool to have 1st for power and 2nd for show and 3rd stuck

I had some problems with my CRX not turning on after parking (turns out it had moisture under the distributor cap), but every time after sitting for a while it always started again :> We have had things broken on our Hondas, but they never left us stranded, no matter how broken. I used to daily drive cars like this all the time. I have another 91 si hatch now, and Id hate daily driving it today. It drives fine, its fairly comfortable, and its TONS of fun. However, it's loud all the time, lol. The urethane bushings squeak, the dash shakes at idle from the motor mounts lol.. It would probably be reliable enough to drive daily, but Ill stick to my big comfy A6 for daily duty lol

Very well said young man. I hear ya. The ef in my profile pic ive owned since 1997 it takes a long time to do things right. Theres nothing like spending money to build a car you hate take your time one piece at a time and junkyards are your friend. Priorities first cars second

This is so understandable and relatable. It’s so easy to fall into the pleasing trap. Just bought an ‘91 EF last summer, been working on it since, should be road worthy soon.

D15b2 head??

I put in a skunk2 short shifter, a weighted mishimoto knob, replaced the rubber around the shifter and replaced the rest of the bushings with ES bushings. It went from sloppy to fantastic. I dont have coilovers yet, BUT, I replaced ALL of the control arms, camber arms, toe arms with skunk2 stuff, also put in new ball joints, tie rods, ES trailing arm bushings and sway bar bushings. I have an ASR 24mm rear sway ready to go in, and its on 15x7 et35 wheels with 205/50/15 Kumho V730 tires. Even with the stock struts and springs, it handles MUCH better than it did stock. I bought it with a 4-1 header, catback, and a short ram intake.

Thats why i love using the old cars on my channel as work cars to help pay for themselves lol cars arent cheap, even cheap cars...but yea its best just to be real always..do you man

Had the same engine in mine. Got me to NC and Florida back with like 50$ in gas. Only problem it gave me was the timing belt broke while I was driving it BUT since it’s a non interference engine it bent no valves. Slapped a new timing belt on and it’s been running strong as ever. You just have a shitty EF civic sad to say
