    i suspect the right attitude could e to just ess around and see what you can do with the software rather than try to create a full complete product, ut as u ess around ess around in those areas that would go toward a final product so u end up learnin skills while also amounting basically a whole lot of assets, scenes and blueprints that u can stick together to ake the product for exaple if ur interested in a product with aic u could ake puzzles where u use a spell, and then ul have the characters, the spell, the assets for the puzzel, little levels or scenery etc and all u need is a terrain to stick any of these toether into the i product. ut that's just speculation on how to ake learning fun while accomplishing something

    As with everything, a nice approach for a certain scenario. Just be mindfull of the refference map of your actors that are going to have the gamestate promoted variable in it.

    Any visual debugging like displaying linetraces slows the editor down as well. Personally i only run a game in Pie mode with the editor auto minimized (editor prefferences, minimize on pie launch). This gives the most representive fps other then running the game in standalone.

    Thank you so much and good year. The integration with the UI was definitely not easy. I have a save system, but I can't save/load the abilities. Do we agree that I just need to save the "gameplay ability hotbar" and "gameplay ability inventory" variables in the player controller?

    Please help, at the 1:15 mark, my flamethrower doesn't stop and keeps shooting out of my hand. This is even when the animation stops. I also get many many errors.

    Hello. At 59:00 minutes, when I give my ability a test after setting up the INTENSITY things, my character's hands move but no fire comes out at all. But when I change it back to the Base Niagara, the flame comes back. I don't know what's wrong, I've reweatched it many times and it looks like it matches perfectly. Can you please help me?     Hi there, I have an issue I've been trying to fix for quite awhile now. In a cave I have wall torches. I need to save the wall torches that the player has already lit so when the game starts again the torches that were previously lit are still lit. I tried using Get all actors of class in the save game function, this function saves the values but on load they are all showing as false. Can you show the correct way to do this?

    ok slightly off topic but suggesting the 4 "elements" don't have a basis in reality is pretty innacurate. Solid, liquid, gas and plasma. They were on to something, its just the names got swapped.

    Great tutorial and well explained. The only way the blink animation works for me though is if I detach the metahuman face in my leader pose component (in my construction script) but then obviously that causes problems as the head no longer sits in the same place....I'm using uE5.5 and the face_archtype_skeleton, doesnt have a weight tab. Searched high and low for the tab...did epic remove it at some point?

    just found a little bug, and im not sure if is it same for everyone or problem only in my code, but if you making is valid index it always return true, even if slot is empty, so in my code, just checking if elemnt with specific index equals to none(just empty equals node), so if true, then slot really empty, else then swaping mechanic

    I like how the embers fade slowly, later on ill have to find some way of doing a damage over time effect when standing in the burning area. Shouldnt be too hard, the decal already has a collision box. I dont think the infinity blade content is available any more. Another issue i ran into was the default MS materials has been updated so doing this exactly like the video doesnt really work. I could not get the greyscale image to work as a mask by plugging it into the ORM. I had to open my copy of M_MS_decal and plug a texture sample of the greyscale image directly into the opacity there. For the burning effects there is a fire texture in starter content that works ok and for the lava i just did a quick and dirty colour change on a megascans rock texture within unreal itself. I changed the Hue to around 330 and played with the saturation and brightness settings to have red hotspots and black colder spots. It actually looks pretty good. Ill probably use another method in the future but it works for the purpose of following these tutorials.

    This is a step up in difficulty for sure. I think i have made every mistake there is to make here. I think i have it all working now. The struggle is good though, if everything worked the first time i would not have as good of an understanding of how collisions work. I need to get my head around tracing through some objects (in this case stopping at the water surface and then tracing to the gound. Once i get these collisions to behave how i want them to i can certanly make things happen. Talk about jumping into the deep end.

    After a little headscratching I used the normal from break hit results to play rock footsteps sounds based off the angle of the terrain. Works great with what i learned from Ben Clowards tutorials and his methods for angle blending for mountains. This may cause some conflicts and weird edge cases later on as i get more materials and a more diverse landscape. Things will get more complex but this is good for now.

    "half the time it works every time" thats a great line. Right now i think im struggling to get it working a quater of the time. I statred with unity trying to code in c#, it worked none of the time so im making good progress.

    Mixiamo character main bone Hip, my character Genesis/Hip. Its fine retargeted, but if i change my skeleton, Genesis bone is freeze on zero and not rotate - this broke all animation.
