    I have a character blueprint called BasePlayer_BP. I cant do the cast at 4:34 and 17:11. I'm trying to bind BasePlayer_BP to the Get Player Character node, but BasePlayer_BP doesn't appear in the options. Can you help me?

    How cool is this!?! I just discovered your channel and will start to make my own RPG now by first binch watching your "making an RPG Playlist," on which I stumbled because I want to make caves :D I started already in the creation engine and built a huge world and caves with many mechanics. But stumbled into a lot of problems and limitations of the old engine. So I will try switching to ue5 now, as sad as it is to leave all the work behind. But you gave me the motivation to try!

    How do you optimize these mega-assemblies? I.e. how to cull the polygons that are hidden inside the mesh, and only render the visible polygons, to reduce the load / optimize the asset?

    hi, I'm having a problem finding the source device in unreal. I checked the following, both iphone and device are on same wifi, enabled required plugins, disabled firewall(followed another video, after doing that, it worked for hime, but not for me) still the iphone is not getting listed as arkit source subject. please help.

I just have a question, I noticed a small bug, it's when calling the function "spellChannel" and jumping at the same time, you get stuck in the air. Do you talk about this later on?     I don't have all those extra nodes in my 'Event Graph' when I double click the 'BP_Third Person_Character'. I see the 'Event BeginPlay' node but not a 'Set Post Process Dynamic Material Instance' node like you have. My last node on the 'Event BeginPlay' tree to the right is 'Add Mapping Context'. Is there something I'm doing wrong? Can I still use that node? Optionally could I just parent that dynamic sphere instead to the character's body like you would in Maya? I'm sorry, I'm a newb in Unreal.

    For anyone who cares, you dont have to 'expose on spawn' unless youre actually spawning the actor within the editor, which exposes that variable on node when you select your actor. Also, there are 4 communication methods for Actors. This isnt new, and its clearly listed in the Unreal Engine Docs. Dont take these tutorials as absolute fact. If you have zero knowledge in unreal engine, dont watch these, otherwise you will be pushed down the incorrect path. My 2 cents.

    For the high pass filtering, under Audio you can create a Sound Attenuation file and then make any filter you want with any frequencies you want. Then in the Audio component you can add the attenuation file.

    For everyone out there : you can just change the "ground slope angle" (which means, the maximum angle on the surface the foliage tool will let you paint on) to a higher value to be able to paint on vertical surfaces :)

    Thanks. Am using 5.2 and your system works ok, but I'm wondering about fps lag from it. Also I think it helps to bump up the foam macro scale, as the repetition is pretty bad from above. I guess it depends if you will ever see it from higher up.

    I'm following along and got an SM6 Error when connecting the texturesamples to the Materialfunction. [SM6] Function MF_Garden_Landscape_MaterialFunktion: Function (/Engine/Functions/Engine_MaterialFunctions02/Utility/BreakOutFloat4Components.BreakOutFloat4Components) call input with index 0 is unset. [SM6] Function MF_Garden_Landscape_MaterialFunktion: (Node MakeMaterialAttributes) Error on property Roughness could this be something because i use UE 5.4? i appreciate any help in troubleshooting

    love the content, my only suggestion would be to change the casting to a simple work around so the function is not ran 1 time per frame when the user is in the forest. it will improve performance a lot. I was able to do this work around by using "Get Player Character" function and creating a custom function that takes in the other actor and compares it to the player character returning true or false. this makes it so that you do not have to use the resource intensive casting method but still have the same end result when the player is within the range.
