already following this one, I love sci-fi and the combat system seems really intriguing. I simply hope i don't get priced out of this and hope that there is just a standee edition that I can get.

Too few scenario, it would need more story and a long campaign and then it would be worth the price. What a mistake, everything else works vero well.

I really appreciate this review. I was very much looking forward to this game, it was probably my most anticipated game in all of my Kickstarters. It did not disappoint, it is a fantastic game that gives something a bit different than a lot of the other DCs out there. One of the semi-negatives you pointed out was the game being harder on smaller player counts, but I think that is actually part of what makes it shine too. There are a lot of ways to ramp up or down the difficulty level and figuring out how to complete certain missions with only 2 characters is pretty fun. And the fact that playing with more characters with more skills actually helps in certain missions make the missions feel a bit more real and not just another rehash of some previous mission. It kind of forces you to think more about who and what you are brining on those missions.

Yesterday, I’m sitting around waiting on my Oathsworn group to show up for our session. I’m watching various Oathsworn videos, and ended up watching this one. We had just recently played the chapter you touched on, but chose a different option with a distinctly different outcome. I’m confident that THIS TIME, with this group, I’ll actually get through the entire story. I do think this is a fantastic game.

I was so hyped about this one... What scares me that it is not in any top 2024 lists (except Mike onestop). What makes me wonder if it is just a mediocre game? We've seen so many good campaigns last few years: fateforge, tales dragon inn, agemonoia, primal, tamashii, unsettled, oathsworn, keep the heroes out bos, conquest princess... I suppose it cannot compete with these beasts?

I saw this at Gen Con 2023 as well, and immediately back to the Kickstarter. I ended up getting it this past June, and it’s such an amazing game. The cost is a little higher than I had hoped, but I truly don’t know why it’s not on more people’s top tens. It’s just an amazing game that didn’t seem to get much press. Did you ever end up getting a retail copy and did you enjoy it in 2024 as much as you thought you would?

I hope you enjoyed playing the solo mode that I designed. What did you think of it? I would love to get your play session results and feedback. :)

Like a child seeing their present at Christmas. ☺ I've not opened up my copy yet. Also All In I think. I've been super busy with other stuff. I've got like 2 other things I am focused on at the same time which can't be done at the same time. This is now the third... and on top of that I have a heap of reshelving to do with putting away all my boardgames that are literally dominating my floor space for a time. Busy busy. Will help once I get some space to actually open the box up. 15:10 aw that's disappointing. There's no way that is enough space to have them all sleeved. 20:04 "Hey, her head don't come off", The Fireys. Labyrinth (1986). They don't make films like this any more.

So, you like a game in which you sail around buying and selling goods while acquiring land and buildings. I’m sensing a theme with your likes.

It's a really fun and smooth game! I totally want an expansion too!

Man, those maps are great. I would have bought this just for the maps if they were not in HEX. Incompatible with everything else I have. Looking at Fateforge. But this has a far superior app/website.

Now that you told me that it is AI art, this game is out... Also, you reminded me about how much luck is involved in this game because of the high amount of dice rolling.

Ugh... I had my pledge in on the game, came around to check your review for good measure and was pumped with every beat of this review... until the AI boot dropped. Not a twist I was thrilled to be hit with. It's funny because I didn't love the art and look of things but I would have been fine to set that aside. Not with AI though. Thank you for mentioning that. I have other games that will scratch the itch. I feel like Hexploreit can probably just continue to be my sandboxy RPG romp.
