Yes, older designs maxxed out sail area with a longer boom. These days the taller mast is the way to go. Taller and thinner has been the trend for speed with the bonus of ease of handling and space onboard. Think glider wings for their efficiency. All the power, least drag - same principles as thin spade rudders and keels, which are pretty much the wings under the boat. Also there's considerably more "air" the higher you get off the water surface. So it's best to get as much sail area up as high as possible. Flat-topped tall rigs do this best. Stronger stiffer and lighter materials have contributed to making this idea ever more attainable. Good eye to notice that and comment!

Agree 100%, there are no 100% wheels available on the market at the moment. But these are working very well with our tenders and if you cannot use them as the beach is soft sand, then they are light enough to drag it up the beach.

@@opmacace523 Their website will not even give a run time on how long it will last running on a charge. The videos they turn off comments because they don't want people to know anything. Then they want the money before you get it. I have the feeling this is going to be similar Elio motors

Scott you missed the size of the people up to their knees/ thighs in water. Agreed there wasn't meters under the boat but certainly more than 9 inches. Tender never touched the ground even with waves. For survey purposes there is no requirement for meters of depth as things don't change if you are in 1 meter or 100 meters of water, the boat would still behave the same.

I am not the only person to have made the same observation. Perhaps instead of firing shots back at me and calling my comment sarcastic… You should use this criticism as motivation to make a better video. Other potential buyers may watch this and never buy your dinghy because they are put off of what they see. Then you lose a customer forever. At least I make a comment enabling you the opportunity to fix that in which others may never even say anything about. I came across your video because I’m a potential buyer. I do like your product and I’m only trying to help. Not all criticism is bad. You’re welcome.

@@scottbarone9949 Yes they have and I kept it there, did you notice? Just so I could clarify what was going on. Your comment was sarcastic,/ironic I am sure you can see that. If you come to my channel and make comments expect me to respond! I will take my fire back line (done now). But yes I agree with you it is not the best video. The legs on the video are not the nicest, they are just two marine professionals doing a maritime survey in NZ. I will take my chances on people being put off by it's unprofessional, unstaged and potentially not as clear content as I wished for the time being. I do get your point. Wish you could have written that to start with, it would have been way more constructive and positive.

Ok so the idea of this ladder is not for people that fall overboard. Is for people that are swimming, snorkeling, diving, spearfishing etc. Reboarding is tricky from any tender, the ladder just makes life easier. If you are a bulkier person, I would first have a go, slowly, you may be surprised! But otherwise have someone in the tender while using the ladder. And don't fall from the tender ideally! If someone large does and are in distress, the seat blocks are floatation device which you can throw to them to hold on to until you can maneuver the tender closer and launch the ladder for them. Also how do you get into your tender if you are on the bulkier side? Well same applies here. The ladder will make life easier.

@@octenders Please don’t misunderstand my comment. I actually like the design. My point is that the tender may very well completely tip to the point that water may flood the tender should a heavier single person attempt to enter as is shown by the slender female. I also understand it will not sink the boat. No design is perfect. I’m simply pointing out what I believe to be , IMO, to be a little misleading. Nevertheless I would consider your tender for purchase.

@@Goathead85 Not at all we didn't! I am just pointing out what the ladder is good for and how to use it. Common sense is your best ally. I still believe you should be able to climb on board on your own if you do it slowly and carefully. If you have someone else lighter with you, make them go first and that should be enough counter weight. We believe the ability to actually lean the tender over is an advantage rather a disadvantage to our models. These are important conversations to be had. The video intention was to show how to use the ladder, and the fact that there is one. Maybe you are right I should put a video of someone heavier climbing in, maybe we can ask for our offshore cruiser diver clients show us how they use these all the time to climb back on board. I think one of them may be close to the weight you set... good idea will ask!

Sorry for the delay in the reply ! Have you watched all the videos? Not all are in flat water. It goes just fine on the chop - 270 8-hp is rough, Roam's last minutes of the video on the OC350 is rough as. It is a hard composite tender with a flat bottom for efficiency so yes you will hear it more and it won't be as bouncy as on an inflatable for instance. But performance wise it will go just fine. Always drive to the conditions. If its rough, slow down. This is not a speed boat, it is a tender. Speed, adverse conditions and bad seamanship do not go well together. I am unsure what sea conditions you tend to take your tenders on, but on normal conditions this is a much drier ride than any other tender on the market. If you have large waves, well don't go out but if you must, once again drive to the conditions, I see zero reason for you to be swamped with a wave unless your surfing with your tender, and if this what you are doing, treat the tender like a surf board and stay with the wave rather try and plough into the wave ahead. Preferably don't do it. The tender is unsinkable. It will fill with water, it will not sink. The entire rubrail is a very large life jacket for the tender as well as all the buoyancy on the build itself.

@@MontyD Absolutely. Rough is a condition we all encounter while offshore cruising or even caught up on storm in an anchorage. You can do rough any time (just always drive to the conditions - sorry I sound like a broken record...) it is never fun though! A good bailer (ours is a cut of milk bottle they have a great handle!) and a sponge are great accessories to have on board at all times.

We have already done one in our earlier years on an OC350 - its on facebook somewhere. Takes too much space and is not practical. We are a tender for full time cruisers, a console is not a priority. Cargo, efficiency and lightness is in our concept. The day we start doing something because a competitor is doing, it will be because what they have done is worth doing too. They obviously thought it was worth being "inspired by us" we are flattered. Glad they are finding their niche with the consoles, there is most definitely a demand. We wish them luck.

Yes it would scratch the gel coat overtime. Generally this is just a cosmetic issue. After some use, say 5 yo 7 years you will probably would rather not look at the scratches anymore (you won't much as it is the bottom of the tender anyhow) so all you need to do is (when you really got nothing better to do) sand, fill, sand, paint and voila you got a brand new tender. All with materials readily available. Care is important, you have a light weight composite structure so when you get to a rough surface, try to be careful. But nothing should really stop you. Our tender have been to the rockiest beaches and tidal places in Alaska, dragged over coral in Fiji, you name it. Not one hole, never an issue that has made the tender unable to operate at it's best capacity at all times. Looked beaten up yes but still performed as it should. Every time.
