Hi there, I’m a middle aged geek with an addiction to cars and gadgets. If you’re the same then maybe you’ll enjoy being here and I much appreciate the time you’ve taken to read this.
I started sim racing in the middle of 2022 with the idea of having a UA-cam channel to track my progress from rookie to wherever.
I plan on doing lots of unboxing video reviews and most importantly, racing.
Thank you.

I just downloaded iRacing and had a practice in the MX5. Fun to drive, but I was miles behind the AI. Need to practice. Don't know if you are streaming tomorrow, but I will be absent if you are. 21 again to morrow ( Thursday).
Hi Phil, that’s brilliant mate, try those mx5’s. I was planning on streaming last night but I accidentally fell asleep so I just recorded a couple of races. Happy birthday sir 🫶🏻
Very glad you like me paint. It is the Tasmanian Devil as tribute to my son that has passed. Marcellus painted all my cars for me. Good job fun racing with you. Thanks or posting.
Hi Jim, I’m so sorry to hear your son has passed. I’m really enjoying racing with you guys so thanks for having me 🫶🏻
Nice i was looking for new pedals soo this a maybe the one Im also looking at the moza crp pedals and the logitech g pro pedals
Hi mate, the new Moza CRP 2 pedals look really nice, definitely worth checking out
You can use the 3 plug cable up to 600w apparently is this true ?
It is indeed Marcus
I use an old tooth brush and warm soapy water
That’s a brilliant idea. Thanks 😎
Cheers Dan 👍
You’re welcome buddy 🫶🏻
Finally, LDAC in an upper scale headphone.
Can you take the grips off to clean them?
You can but there’s a lot of dismantling to get there
welcome back Danny
Thanks mate 🫶🏻
Hi Danny, I bought a TGT-Gran Turismo but I live in the United States and we use 110-120 V and my base came with the European connection that uses 220 -240 v What do you recommend for me to be able to use it? Thanks for your help
Hi Sergio, all you should need is the correct power supply. I’d give thrustmaster a call or email, they should let you buy one. Or you could maybe find one on eBay.
Nice one, but you mounted it on the wrong side 😝 I'm planning on buying this unit next week. Getting a 7 in long knob (that's what she said) off of amazon to use when i do sequential. I haven't had a single regret on any previous purchase from simagic. Everything has been top quality in both build and function. Everything is very well engineered, you can tell they understand and probably love simracing, something rare for a Chinese company. The manuals aren't written in Chinglish. They are certainly not the cheapest company, but everything has felt very fairly priced. You do feel like you're getting high end gear at a mid range price. And the software has gotten light years better since I first got my base and it and the firmware are updated fairly regularly, sometimes even adding new features that add even more value. I've never been one to be a corporate fanboy, but I'll definitely stay with simagic as long as they continue not to cut corners and have minimal if any compromises.
Hi Rog, it’s on the correct side you mean 😁 I agree they make excellent products. This shifter is absolutely solid and the H pattern setting feels superb. They’ve definitely got the best ecosystem out there
Hi Danny. Is this league still open to signups?. I've been looking for a league in iRacing.
It is mate as far as I know. If you look in the iracing launcher league section, the number is 10971
The p1000s you plug straight into the base. All the accessories install in minutes and look like they belong there.
Indeed Rog 😎
@@dannymoffatsimracer I got their cheaper ones that came out and they're absolutely fabulous. The brake one, especially, is really helping me drive better, it almost feels like cheating. In the past week, I've gone from almost getting a good foot massage on my left foot, to very limited pulses. Everyone should have a shaker of some sort on at least the brake, it's that helpful.
Hi mate. I have a Ps5 and I’m looking to get this wheel. What wheelbase and pedals should I get that are cheap but good?
Hi bud, the cheapest base that’s reasonably good is the T300, if you get the RS version it should come with pedals that’ll get you up and running. If you want pedals that are better the T-LCM’s have a load cell and are great for the price
Thanks.
You’re welcome bud
Hey Danny, when you were using this base, did you find a profile or settings best suited for the McLaren?
Hi Jason, I currently use Dan Suzuki’s profile and change the steering rotation to 480 degrees
how loud are they Danny? I'm very deaf and need a loud set
Hi mate, they’re the loudest I’ve tried so far. Most headphones I run around 70-80%, these I keep around 50%.
nice profile picture dude, amazing review
Thank you kind sir 👍
Hi all i just got my brand new smc2 pro, i was wondering if you guys also experienced some noises coming from the base. I been reading online that apparently is normal. I came from a dd1 and it was much more silent
Hi Rafael, it is normal to hear some noise when driving. Mine is pretty hard to hear because of the noise from the buttkicker. I always race with headphones so I don’t really hear anything.
iRacing?
Yes sir, started grinding it a few days ago with the hope of us doing their endurance races. It’s brilliant 😎
@@dannymoffatsimracer I have it too, just haven't played for a while, not got all the tracks or this season's Ferrari challenge

Hi Danny, thought it was you. I was just in a Ferrari race with you having a great race. Until I got took out!!
Gutted for you mate, it was a good race
@@dannymoffatsimracer I was waiting for a last lap battle, practicing race craft. Shame it ended that way. Race Ya Soon!
Danny is it safe to use silver 20mm bolts (roughly 10mm into base) from omega rig for mounting podium base side holes or do i need the longer 25mm blacks (about 17mm into the base) to be secure at higher force? Thanks!
Hi mate, when I was using the dd1 I think I was using 25’s. I remember trying a few sizes to get them in as deep as possible without them bottoming out. I’m sure they were 25mm
What do you think of iRacing's GT3s? I find the AMG quite tricky to drive in this game. Lots of mid corner to exit rotation.
Hi Barry, it is tricky on corner exit. I’ve only tried the fixed setup though so I’ll try some setup tweaks in an open race. It sounds great 😁
Always sold out fml …
You mentioned your monitor mount. would you mind sharing which on you went with?
Hi Sean, the one I’m using now is the pro simrig one from race anywhere
Nice race Sir.
Thank you kind sir
Love driving the Honda at Daytona. Great fun.
Epic Phil, that was a great recommendation
Hi Danny, great job on your videos. You may already know this, but I saw a couple of things when you brought up your options. One tipp I would give, whatever wheel you be using most of the time, when you do the input calibrations; do not check the box for use custom controls for this car. After you set it iRacing will use that setup, including all the button settings, as your default setup. When you load new cars, there will be no need to go through the calibration for each car unless you change wheels. When setting up my default calibrations, I always setup the clutch, sequential shifters to my wheel paddles, and I setup my h pattern shifter. When you load the car for the first time, you just need to choose if you want sequential or h pattern for shifting, everything else should be fine. If, you want to use you shifter for sequential shifting and not the paddles, then for that car check the use custom setting for that car, click on the gearbox calibration, and set your shifter to up and down sequential instead of the paddles. Then whenever you load that car, it will be setup that way. Also, I saw that your wheel range was set to 879. When you do your wheel calibration, look at the digital indicator on the screen. Make sure your wheel is set to 900 in your wheelbase software. Calibrate your wheel, first putting in the maximum range right to left. When doing that make sure the numbers in the display end up at the same number. I have my bump-stops set to medium hardness, so when I get to the end of each range I have to make sure I reached the maximum possible. Then when you are prompted to turn the wheel 90 degrees to the left, turn the wheel until the digital readout is at 900. The wheel range will indicate 900 under steering in options. When set at 900, iRacing will adjust each car as needed and you should not have to change it again. Have a great time in iRacing. Maybe will see you in an endurance race or lobby sometime.
Wow thank you kind sir, that’s exactly the type of info I needed. I’ll make sure to do all of it. Much appreciated 🫶🏻
Great video on the Sparco R333. I always like to find content I can relate to. I have been Sim Racing in a OMP TRS-E and started to feel uncomfortable doing longer races while streaming. I have been looking for something more comfortable as I am a tall man like yourself. I think I have been sold just on your review. Thank you and keep up with the great content!
Thank you kind sir, you’re gonna love it 🫶🏻
Well I have pulled the plug on a FanatecDD extreme I have always wanted a Fanatec for a very long time since having a Logitech G 29. I was very lucky to grab a new one in the UK from a retailer at the last one so don’t have to wait for the long wait time/shipping purchase I played on my friends one and it was amazing and loads of people have told me to avoid the company, but I want to give them a chance hopefully I will have a great experience and then in future will buy more products
Nice setup mate 👌
ur not alone😂 just upgraded from ddpro to extreme
You should activate the gear shift on the brake pedal. It won't muddy anything and it's very nice to feel the shift when braking......
Hi Jose, that’s exactly what I’ve done, so I feel it through both pedals. The reactors are so good 😎
People should have never purchased their predatory business practices and asphyxiating closed ecosystem, but now of all time in history people should absolutely avoid the brand. Fanatec killed themselves lol
my standard gt track seat catastrophically failed under heavy braking last night and now im weighing my options, i am curious to how it looks on the inside, cause the standard seat looked a whole lot more sturdy than it was thats for sure. its barely been a year since i got it aswell. (im not a big guy either, i weigh about 69kg) i wonder how easily i could fit an is200 seat onto the gttrack, as i happen to have a spare one and its real comfy
The stock seat definitely isn’t built to last. I tried fitting a different brand seat a while back but it was too much fiddling for me. I know people have done it though. I saw one guy on a Facebook group that had an RX8 in his
