@@maryadams1160 I really tried on this one. I started recording at the beach and my GoPro had an error and I lost all the footage. Was going to try again and it got cold and windy. Seems more people watch when I’m in my car than at my desk. 🤷🏻‍♀️ but thanks for watching and once it warms up I’ll be recording at the beach for future months

Yes, correct. Is there a certain brand you prefer? I have a few that are more like shark rigs and the bluefish don’t touch them because the hook is so large.

@@tomsheridan989 oh wow, I need to study up on my bird identification. I knew there were more birds but I didn’t realize how many species. Thanks for pointing that out! I used to do a bit of birdwatching in high school back in NY, so stuff like that is interesting to me!

@@Humanperson917 yes if you can get a 12 or 13 foot rod even, for fall fishing the pompano run further out from the shore so you need to be able to cast far out to reach them. Thanks for watching and hope that helps a bit!

@@DrewH-u9f yeah it was bad for me too, unfortunately. I’m not holding my breath for the pompano right now. Water temps are at 63 degrees in Flagler area, which is too cold for them now. Fish can’t regulate their body temperature so they have to go where they are most comfortable. They’re still catching them further south where the water is warmer and cleaner. Might be worth a road trip! Check surf fishing Facebook groups to see where they are active. Thanks so much for watching!

@@Letizia4813 with a 12 foot rod you may want to go bigger. A 6000 might be ideal. I have used a Penn spinfisher 6500 or Okuma Rockaway 6000 reel with this rod and either one seems to work well. Hope that helps! Thanks so much for watching

@@fishing9733 hey hope you have a great time here! Ormond is a low-impact beach so the best time to fish will be a few hours before low tide through to a few hours after low tide. Basically all the fish I talked about in this video is what you can expect. The bluefish are thick right now so make sure you have heftier rigs like mortician rigs or double-drop using at least 40 lb line. Hope that helps and you have a great fishing time!
