    My existing light fixture has a ground, a white and a red. It looked like the short black wire had been capped off. It wasn't a motion sensor light or anything. What should I connect to what?

    • @therenodummy
      @therenodummy 18 годин тому

      Do you have multiple switches that control the light? Youd have to figure out how it’s wired or just do it by trial and error. Use the red as the hot and cap the black. If that doesn’t work then use the black and cap the red.

    If doing this in an unfinished basement, should this be done before studs are installed? If so, how do you fasten the studs to the floor?

    A little compressed air wouldn't hurt. Also, some bleach (4% diluted) or hydrogen peroxide poured in there & left to sit for 15-30 min. should kill most of the mold. Concrobium Mold Control is a product you can get at hardware stores or online that mostly consists of Hydrogen Peroxide and will do the job. Brush away whatever you can first.

    Can I use the end of a crimper tool to do cinch clamps? Week one student, so excuse my ignorance

    • @therenodummy
      @therenodummy Місяць тому

      I’ve seen the words crimp and cinch used interchangeably but to me they’re not. The crimp rings require a different type of ring and clamp. This is specifically for cinch clamps. Not sure if that answers your question but it depends on what type of tool you’re using.

    I'm sorry to say that this video did not help me with the time besides finding the general button that has to do with time. You must press so that you see day, time and schedule. Then you must press and hold. Then you have to keep arrowing up or down to change the minutes and keep going until 60 minutes to get to the next hour. It's really quite a pain in the ass but at least there's a solution.

    I have this tool. For the price I like it. It is clumsy with the size and 2 handed use along with me being very much a novice. Knowing what I do now after using it I would still buy it again. As for the pipe cutter. I found it decent. I have a smaller version than the one you got from ace. That i got from Ace. I like the one from that came with the clamp better. Neither cuts a great straight line but it cut better than the Ace one.

    What if I don’t care about temperature at all? I want my fan to turn on and circulate the cold air and moisture out of my basement. I want to program it in, to cycle the air about 3 times per day for about 1 hour each. Only other option is to leave it one forever or remember to go to the thermostat 6 times per day to turn it on and off manually

    Thank you for the much needed tip about sizing up when extracting. What I also did was to slightly turn it sideways (instead of keeping it straight up) when extracting to try and catch the grove and that’s what magically pulled up the stubborn stripped nail. Again, thank you!

    I use the Ryobi elctric tool. Got a refurbished one for a little over $80 pre tax from Ryobi deals finders. They sell new ones for $99 but are always out of stock. And just to clarify, the clamp has to be between 1/8th and 1/4 inch from the fitting.

    I tried it just like you said and it doesn't work. I've tried it with two screws today and could get neither one out. The bit doesn't seem hard enough to even drill a hole. They are just regular drywall screws, they shouldn't be that hard.

    OMG that lil azz remote needs a tiny flat head screw-driver to take it apart. All I had were too big to work with so I just used the handle of a screwdriver and hit the remote in that area several times and it's working now. It's a dam shame how crappy they make things now days. Roku needs to make a remote that's not Barbie & Ken doll size. If you set it down and go get a snack or blink u eyes the dam thing gets lost 😀

    I think I'd prefer to use a male F-connector, short it, then cover it with electrical tape. Costs less than a dollar.
