OMG, mine is filthy with 4 dogs, and it's the first time I've tried to clean it. I'm shocked the roller doesn't come out and I'm going to try your method. Thank you. The roller looks like it should be removable, but I couldn't work out how.

Thank you, this was a lifesaver today when it accidentally sucked up something sticky. Worked like a charm! If you have unused straw-cleaning brushes lying around, they are brilliant too. I used some 70% alcohol solution to disinfect and also ran through a strong tissue paper in the end to wipe it dry.

It might be a female thing that I never take things apart for fear of not being able to put it back together again but today I’ve stripped my Hoover to its bare bones and cleaned it completely If I’m not sure I’ll watch again before I put it back together

Thanks very much. I didn't actually want to clean the filters (it hadn't occurred to me to do this!): this morning, I went to hoover, and found the dust container sticking out at an odd angle, with an inch of the filter hanging out of it! A gentle pressing of the various release buttons didn't help - and I was worried about being more forceful and breaking it :( So I searched for 'IZ201UK replace filter', and found this! So helpful - and my Shark is now back in one piece, minus a year's worth of dust that had built up inside! :)

Useful on cleaning the filters but the bit near the beginning and end on detaching/opening and reattaching the dust canister could be done more slowly and clearly and maybe repeated. Those are the things I find tricky. Thanks.

Use a compressor to blow the head clean and then clean the filters with air as well. I have a different model, but it's the same methodology, 10 minutes max you're done. Do it outside, very dusty.
