    I did not watch this video. But I wanted to comment on its title, which shows that you don't know a lot about football, but you are trying to become a UA-cam celebrity with provacative titles. Really stupid concept with what Hurts has accomplished in Philly to say he's in a make or break season. Won't watch this channel again.

      @@TheCoachPlays Eh, even if you look at last year's Jalen alone, with stats & everything in context...He's fine. Not his best year, yes, but average. A lot of the time Hurts (and the team) got Ws in spite of things like the OC running a high school offense. Lets not also forget Hurts was dealing with a knee issue the whole year and wasn't as mobile.

    Make or break is push. All you have to do is see the game plan against pressure to know it was all coaching. It was the same thing last 8 weeks which you would have known if you actually watched the film. There is literally no plan for pressure which any real coach can see for themselves. To blame Jalen hurts for lack of adequate game plan shows your lack of ability to break down film nor understanding of what your watching. Taking one game and using it to judge a player is incredibly unfair but I guess we will do anything for content and click bait. And FYI he has been in the MVP conversation last two years and was an all pro. To say make or break as stupid as fuck. The media had one day to watch practice how the fuck will they know if Kenny Pickett is actually outplaying him off one OTA practice. You’re a clown dude.

    I'm not worried. Jalen is the type of player who watches the film and points out the same criticisms to himself that @TheCoachPlays does, so he can find ways to improve. These criticisms aren't anything new for him; he still finds ways to win, as he has throughout his entire career.

  • @DruGOATBOY
    @DruGOATBOY 11 днів тому

    Honestly most of the things that were pointed are the same things since becoming the starter. The coaching philosophy was to hit big plays against the blitz. They rarely install hots. previously they would throw tunnel screens against the blitz but that is after seeing the blitz several times in a row before making that adjustment. The coaching staff always depended on Jalen to make something happen which also comes with Jalen bailing at a hint of a rush breaking through. He has holes in his game for sure but they aren't detrimental. Last year things compounded because everyone had periodical struggles. There were times were the WRs were bailing on routes. Running half-hearted not sharp. Then there was the play calls themselves, sheesh. Outside of Brown, Smitty, and I will throw Goedert in there, Jalen had little trust in certain situations. Hopefully they will put in more work and they will be on the same page. Not a make or break season IMO.

    • @TheCoachPlays
      @TheCoachPlays 9 днів тому

      There always has to be built in answers to every play. That’s how you protect your QB, the ball and the scheme. My concern is there are times the hits are there but Hurts is either not going there or doesn’t process it

      @@TheCoachPlays BTW thanks for the vid. Really enjoys these kinds of videos. My comment isn't a criticism of you just frustration of being a fan. I hear you but "always has to be"!? I am not that smart so I depend on people like yourself for these breakdowns. One also being QB School, JT O'Sullivan. He been saying for years since Sirriani took over that Eagles are missing some sound football elements like hots and protection rules. They consistently were asking Jalen to make a play. Think Johnson tried to install some hots but Jalen and WRs weren't on the same page.

    Jalen will be fine, I understand last year wasn't good, but its not as bad as people are making it out to be. The Eagles were somehow 10-1 at one point with the worst defense in the league and one of the worst offensive schemes in the league. Talent on offense alone is what carried this team to the playoffs, and Hurts was the main reason. Aside from last season, Hurts has gotten better every single year as a starter and was of course the MVP runner up in 2022.

    • @theyokester3541
      @theyokester3541 13 днів тому

      Also, while I do think at time Hurts goes out of the pocket a little early sometimes, I do think it all stems from the fact he gets blitzed a ton and is used to pressure in his face in less than 2 seconds. There were many times this season Hurts stuck in the pocket and made a great throw, but when you get blitzed on 60-70% of plays its tough

    Oh, stop it. Jalen will be fine. The problem was his OC who got the job *JUST* because they were "boys". Seriously, that was all I needed to know to be worried. And of course, I was right. Shucks, he did better than I thought, being that he didnt really have an OC, really. What other QB could drag his team to the playoffs after being in the league for 3+ years with 5 different OCs?? 🙄 And don't even try to tell me overrated Mahomes or overrated Burrow 🙄🙄🙄

    • @TheCoachPlays
      @TheCoachPlays 14 днів тому

      So you definitely put more of the blame on the OC which is totally fair. I will say, I wouldn’t say drag teams to the post season. The eagles are a very talented team. It’s not like it’s Jalen Hirts and then nobody else. It’s definitely always a marriage between QB’s and OCs. So while the OC has to find ways to improve the offense, Jalen has to find ways to improve against the blitz himself as well. Thanks for the comment !

    • @neetrab
      @neetrab 14 днів тому

      @@TheCoachPlays did Hurts look as bad against the blitz in 2022? Only asking because that was literally his ONE time he's had the same OC the 2nd yr in a row B4 that was high school. Him having a revolving door of OCs, I would think would confuse him with way too much info and guys having to be on the same page. Also, I said "drag the team", mainly because in 2021, his 1st yr starting, he revived a team coming off of 4 wins total and there was no AJ Brown, and rookie Devonta Smith wasn't that dude yet. He had to deal with his SB winning Head Coach getting fired and the entire change in coaching staffs. Basically, I'm saying, let him have the luxury of the same coaching staff, like overrated Mahomes and other QBs, and he'll soar again just like 2022!

    I was hoping for a response to my short reply on the other stream. Ah well. You want to grow your channel _while_ angering at least two fan bases? Because there's a short window of opportunity here to make something no one else has the _balls_ to make. 1) I think I can make a case for _all_ of Fields' negatives to be due 100% to *Matt Eberflus'* play-calling. 2) I think that if anyone made a split-screen video of Fields & Williams that while I might find one thing Fields can do that I haven't seen Caleb yet do *in college* I think everything Williams _has done_ in college, Fields has done at the same skill level in the NFL. See why people won't touch this? Most people fear calling out any HC. But who cancelled the designed QB rushes & other plays that led to Fields making *the **_Bears_* the #1 offense 3 weeks straight? We got that answer when 'Flus was busy acclimating Sweat & the new DC to the team & Getsy got to run the O again with less of his interference & the offense clicked yet again. The 'Flus came back & voilà! Everyone went right back to saying Fields is a bust despite his appearing to be so being due to Eberflus' play-calling. Anyhow, I have what to add to the concept here, but Any Interest? You might only get acknowledged as the only people being brave enough to say this before he proves it, assuming he ever gets to start again in the NFL.

    • @TheCoachPlays

      A little confused at your case , cause it sounds like everything I have been saying, you are agreeing with. I feel like Williams is no better than Fields. The bears could have built around Fields with those draft picks and potentially get fields on a team favorable deal going into the future. Don’t know much about the comment of me just looking to anger two fan bases . Feel like the Steelers should be happy where they are at.

      @@TheCoachPlays Well, what I said was not *in* disagreement with you. I said "I think I can make a case" for 1) & 2). The rest is a good idea for a video. As for angering two fan bases, _that_ may be an added attraction for some people. Love and hate both grow UA-cam channels *AND* you're already saying you think Caleb is no better. That's already gonna get hate. The bonus with the idea would be getting the attention of people who have similar channels with larger followings: J.T. O'Sullivan, Brett Kollmann, Tim Jenkins etc. Let's say Fields gets to start & proves you right &/or Caleb doesn't live up to expectations. People start leaving links to Your Video in comments sections. "He's the *only one* who was right about this." That could grow your channel. Me, I have the time to do this myself, just sort of not in a good condition. Got walloped by possibly mercury poisoning & it's a good thing you can't see how many mistakes I'm making while typing. Thinking drains my energy like running a marathon. But I'm a *VERY good* observer. I noticed that Sirianni doesn't do anything but put his team on the field & hope his roster wins *in '22,* noticed that the play-calling on the Bills' O _and_ D went to heck in clutch games a year before the article about McDermott came out etc. Right now, because he could get No Support (where does a QB _go_ when their own HC is against them because the other players can't go against the HC either while he's there, look what happened with Carr in LV) I want _someone_ to make a video in support of Fields 1) so it exists & 2) so there will be something to point to after he proves us right.

    Anyone notice how Mike McCarthy the Panicky took over late in that game? He started calling soft zone *against Jared Goff.* Not a rational decision. I bring this up because it's a huge problem, one that Sean McVay might be trying to solve. He hired an assistant because he at least Is Aware that often in tense situations, his play-calling suffers. This is actually the case for _most_ NFL HCs & play-callers. Andy Reid is the only coach I'm currently aware of who _doesn't lose_ his ability to call rational plays in the clutch. With McCarthy the change is _SO_ sharply defined I'm surprised every time I see it not being called out. There seems to be an Unspoken Rule among NFL fans *and analysts* to never call this out on the HC but it won't get better if we ignore it!
