Trash Bin Tennis
Приєднався 15 тра 2020
This channel is about the grueling journey we all embark on when choosing to play the lifetime sport. No matter how well you play, the lingering desire for improvement will always get the last laugh. That's the addictive nature of tennis though; there is no summit, but instead, more mountain to climb.
Here we document our progression from the bowels of the tennis dumpster to the penthouse suite of 4.5 and beyond. Perhaps its best put in our slogan:
"AT TRASH BIN TENNIS, IT'S ALL ABOUT THE TENNIS TRASH WE'VE BEEN"
Ping me in the below email if you want to channel either of us

How about stretch him wide on a serve then drop shot to the opposite side?
I can’t execute that 🫠
@ I prolly couldn’t either, but I’d try it and mess it up anyway.
Rachel and I enjoyed a few of your videos tonight. So great seeing you still going strong after 5 years. Congrats on your growing family! Rach and are in Ohio now, so hit me up man. We would love to see you if you do Head (pun intended) this way! By the way, I'm a big fan of the headband look.
@@brennanalford162 time flies bro! I just pinged you 🤙
I mean, he would say that hes doing his best to see if the ball was in or not, and if he can tell its out, hell call it out, and if he can't tell, then he can't cal it out, right? So wth is he asking you to call your serve out?? Yes players deserve some grace for honest bad calls, but that means it may go both ways, not just in your own favor. Bro needs to learn some etiquette.
Your shots let him stay IN the court. You should have probably bring more power to your shots, possibly a bit more depth. He controls you from the inner center of the court. That is bad.
At the time I was hitting with all of the power and depth at my disposal.
I can show you the benefits
Sensei, I needed you years ago. Looks like it!
@ just got to take the ball in front of you
Already switched, never going back either.
@ understandable, it’s not easy
Hey man, sad to hear it's your last rodeo but totally understand. 2 kids is a handful while they're little little. I've got a 6 and 3-year old and it's starting to gets easier but younger than that is a lot of work. House is looking good though still, not just full of spaghetti and puzzle pieces XD. Trash Bin is right up my alley. Love the match play mixed with flair of creative/comedic content, so I'm here for all of it. The color commentary and raw honesty over the matches I think is one of Trash Bin's strengths which makes any level match interesting... but maybe that's polarizing depending on whether it's your color or not. But either way collabs will surely help with growth as well as production quality. Cheers to the next year!
Oh and you rock the headband, keep it up
More tournament matches/logs would be great. Love your work!
Solid technique, overall. I think you release your shoulder too early. As you complete your coil and racquet enters the drop, fully stretch your right shoulder. Then as your hips start to rotate feel how that stretch is maintained, it's like entire torso is pulling the arm. As you uncoil the torso, explosively release the shoulder.
Condor vs winners only would be sick
Since you have a full head of hair still , stay with the head band or tie . Hats tend to keep heat in and you need air flow to reduce heat that relates the need to cool which initiates sweating . If you have a chance to go to Charlestown S.C , please show it . Till the end thanks and and beware of zero love in Vegas.
@@derekpappas1556 1) Head tie is dangerous in summer as far as tan lines go! 2) Charleston for the ladies tournament? 3) Zero Love will receive just that when I meet him!!
@trashbintennis5550 You could always wear a women's visor ! What better excuse to go there other than charleston being apparently a beautiful apparent place to visit . Hilton Head is where the tournament takes place , not far from charleston .
@trashbintennis5550 If you have a chance to review the SX 300 and 300 tour 2025 rackets , please do so .
@trashbintennis5550 You can always wear a women's visor . Womens tennis in hilton head and charlestown sounds like a couples trip to me .
1) Why this channel isn’t more popular is one of the great mysteries of UA-cam Tennis. Yes the unfulfilled potential drives me nuts sometimes. But Trash Bin is the only Tennis channel that has regular injections of humor, a touch of irreverence, heaps of angst at times. It speaks to the human condition (tennis wise) more than any other channel. I guess Tennis players are a humorless bunch. 2) Longshanks moving to a more upright grip than a Western!? 😮 Is this channel moving into the genre of Fantasy/Sci Fi? They don’t make a glue strong enough to make that happen. Maybe Hypnosis? 😅 3) On headwear, if you don’t functionally need a hat or headband, nothing is best. You both have good heads of hair. Show it off while you still got it.
100% agree, this is the funniest and most real tennis channel on YT. Can't believe it hasn't taken off more
First! Just had my last hit of 2024. Outside luckily. Weather is gonna get cold and indoor hittong will be sporadic. I like the match play the most!
@@Sinisterg60 thanks for watching! Are indoor courts hard to come by in your area?!?
@trashbintennis5550 there is a tennis center about 40 minutes away but unless you're a member it's stupid expensive per hour. Then there is one indoor court 30 minutes the other direction that's 5 bucks per 1.5 hours but it's usually booked solid
LOL I want to try hitting that frustration ball side ways in an actual match one of these days!!! that's hilarious!
I don’t think this is 4.0 vs 5.0. They both From a stroke Perspective Are About Equal. It’s more 3.5 vs 3.5
This great, Mate keep up the play. We have all been there. Like ur positive attitude the fact u can make fun urself is a sign u will be just fine life mate
Amen….and this is completely entertaining…and geez I need some of the consistency you’ve got.
Very jealous of these indoor clay courts
😂😂😂 commentary gold
Thank you for sharing. Her balls are high, but loaded with topspin and landing so deep. I would not call these balls moonball.
Lol you all are not UTR 5.0 or 6.0. I played national usat tournaments KZoo, Orange Bowl, Easter Bowl. And I am a 5.5 Nrtp and 10.8 UTR. Lol. Your videos are disgrace and you guys are no more than a 2.8-3 UTR levels
Good match. I was wondering why you are not a 4.5 since you have the game for it, but then I saw that you seem to lose a bit of concentration as the match progresses. Happens to many people I think. Another thing that caught my attention is your forehand. It's pretty good, but it bounces too much near the service line giving the opponent more time to attack. Try to get them to bounce at least half way between the service line and the baseline. Maybe try to practice extending the arm more. Lots of free power just by extending the arm.
Going well, then getting absolutely owned by the double fault demons...relatable. Good tennis; you're definitely right on the verge in this matchup
1) On the plus side it was only a one break difference. Basically your ability to make her move was switched with her making you run more. She had to raise her game to beat you. Something to take solace in. 2) I don’t know how UA-cam collaborations take place but I’d think Condor vs. Trey from Winners Only Tennis would make for a very compelling match. I believe both of you are low to mid 6 UTR rated players. Trey was in California recently, if that happens again or if you visit Austin, Texas it could be doable. Both of you are better than average athletes that are nowhere near fulfilling their potential. Both started with the “Power is Everything” disease and only recently been at least partially cured. Both of you early on, had the bizarre habit of holding the racket hoop instead of the throat with your left hands like normal players. Both are part time Split Step users. Treys just below 3 years playing, Condor is just above 4 years. Comparable. I’d put my money on Condor at present abilities. His overall skills are more developed particularly his ability to hit slice and his backhand. His overall game savvy is also more developed than Treys. Certainly Trash Bins humor rating is higher than Winners Only. But if Condor has a mediocre day he could lose.
Bro, at least you won the dress-up match 😊
6:25 I didn't think that looked too awkward; your FH contact point being so close to your body just makes it look home-grown. As mentioned, his ability to stretch you out to the backhand on his ad serves was significant. I'm excited to check out more of this series; I really hope to be able to play some 4.5s soon. You definitely put up some good competition here.
Huge set win. You probably get this a lot, but your forehand technique reminds me of Jack Sock's. I like the goofy commentary with the self-assurance; that'll serve you well in the UA-cam tennis wilds. Nice tennis, nice video.
I’m noticing in this video, your giving him returns within his hitting zone, why?
Cuz I’m a 3.5 and not Novak
Great string
What compression arm sleeve are you wearing? It was an interesting game...keep it up...
@@nicolasX2602 it’s the Nike “Flood Sleeve” . I wore it in the summer to protect my tats from the Sun, but decided to adopt it as my signature 👀!!
@trashbintennis5550 I see. I was looking for arm compression sleeve to support my arm. Thanks for the reply though
I keep yelling "go to the net man" at the screen
Believe me, you wouldn’t be any more pleased with the result if I went to the net lol
My best guess from playing mixed is that you can subtract about 0.75 from female rankings when playing men. So if he’s a 3.95 and she’s a 4.55, this result would make sense.
For split step is hard to remember when you are focusing in your game. But just remember. Keep your body low until the moment the opponent hits the ball, You pull your body up and starts moving the moment after you know where the ball is going. The momentum of your body transfers from low to high lets you split step very naturally.
He is a lot better at coming up to the net and better at net game than you are. So I guess having patience playing baseline should be your battle. Whenever he is up, you should lob him, Whenever he plays drops shot , you go up and you should try to hit deep if possible. Just don’t let him drag you into his battle.
Good feedback!
I see the benefit! If you want to get rid of people who want to play with you just use this grip and it is done.
😂
TBH, she might be a 5.0 then, but now closer to 4.5.
Well not what I was expecting haha, seeing the 5.0 vs 4.0 I assumed the 5.0 would blow the 4.0 out of the water. Good playing from both players.
it is not 5.0 vs 4.0 but woman 5.0 vs man 4.0
@@nicolasX2602 Yeah I saw that but I was still expecting her to win by a landslide just based on level,. I was wrong.
@@topspin1715 the gap between men and women in all sports is huge
cold, indoor december tennis. thanks for the vid! I think the audio was only on the left side... maybe it was on my end
Not just you
Lady Wildcat has some good ground strokes, and can change direction of the ball better than CC. If I was coaching her I'd be saying to just be patient, you can play cautious. But...CC wins because he is/was more comfortable taking shots on the run, he just kind of, what I call, "athlete-ed" his way to victory, he could run all around the court, and I think that kinda frustrated her, it made her feel like she had to hit through him to win points. I wonder if she would have been better served patiently feeling out points and waiting for a short ball to pounce on. I have won a lot of games the same way, where I'm able to just out run the opponent and frustrate them with consistency. It's not a bad way to win, but unfortunately for me that ability has its limits the higher caliber opponent you face.
Good insight! I definitely agree she is a cleaner ball striker than I am!
Why are you gassing her up so much lol
You have my old forehand you needa fix that switch your grip more eastern cause when I had that that messed up my game completely
Agreed! This was awhile ago. I have switched and I’ve seen massive improvements in my consistency.
You drop shot when both of you are on the baseline. That is good once in awhile. But, you should approach drop shot some also. Secondly, get the ball up above his shoulders and come in to finish the weak reply. You can get the ball up above his shoulders with a moon ball or with lots of top spin on a short ball. Finally, stay calm and patient. Think, one more shot.
I'm gonna call up the distribution centers right now and give them a piece of my mind
give em the ninja
I felt that kiss
Helps when you're playing someone obviously not as good as you though doesn't it. Must make you feel really good about yourself acting like that
If it’s any consolation -He beats me all the time - I was calling myself a prick 😂
I think you were hitting it back to him too much. Even when you got quite far up the court you didn't take advantage of the available angles. Also you didn't hit it fast enough when you did get an angle. Soz - I know its easy to monday morning quarterback 🙃
Mixed it up with a drop shot, my dude. He's comfortable because he knows that he never has to move forward against his will, so say nothing of the fact that his cardio may not be tip top.
FexEx gaiter. What even
So how high up was the fence angle?
I got this
Crazy price. I'd rather have 4 pairs of normal socks for this money and change socks at the end of each set if I really have to.
