Hey Dan thanks for the vid. I know its an easy install but it still helps to see it before you do it. This is the only video I could find on it btw. Thanks
I've been putting rocker panels on and wheel arches for about 40 years. The only thing I would change is to use POR-15 on any of the rust that's left. You should do the inside of those rockers. And any place that you sanded down use POR-15 as it will only adhere to rusted areas. I know there's a lot of other products out there. It's like asking you your favorite type of beer. But I've never had a failure with por15 and I use it on a big dump truck as the box and the frame were very Rusty. There were no holes at all so I just used a roller to put it on. Now for everybody out there that's telling you that you're doing it wrong and it's not going to hold in its structural. Let's see your videos. And I've done rockers the correct way and they're spot welded in. But that takes a lot of time and it costs a lot of money. But their spot welded from the factory. In fact, your whole vehicle is pretty much spot welded. Just face out your rivets with an equal distance between them and use some seam sealer and they'll look just like a spot weld
Never done it like that , but I guess it would work
Does this thing lower egts? I just ordered mine just for that reason
Good Job bro tank
I realize this is 4 years old…. I’m winterizing my Indmar 5.7 this weekend so doing research. When you hooked up the “fake lake” and pumped in the ant-freeze, did you do it to a warm engine? If the thermostat is closed, how do you get the antifreeze to circulate into the block?
@@thedogvs.catshow770 The thermostat has a weep hole to allow coolant to pass even if it’s not open. Just pump enough antifreeze through until it comes out the exhaust. (Should be about 5 gals) The block will have enough in it by then.
@@danofalltrades3567 Thanks so much for your reply! Great channel!
Real question, if draining all the water why put antifreeze in it anyway?
@@bigalforsyth This is the method that I prefer. Chances are you won’t get all the water out. Antifreeze is cheaper than an engine.
Thanks for answering the last question. Trying to find a pump like yours for a hose fitting. Was there a brand you used?
@@shaunsedrick8618 It is a small pond pump from Home Depot. You can get the hose adapter from any hardware store.
Why do you drain the water if you are filling it with antifreeze?
@@shaunsedrick8618 With RV antifreeze it works best when it is not deluded with water.
Does the filter work well? Im wondering if it lets any fine debris by? How long have you had it installed? I hate to see a dusted 7.3l
@@JeffS-x1v works great. Been on the truck for years. Still running strong!
Does Edelbrock provide a heat riser path under the carburetor?
interesting topic...I beg to differ if this is the correct way as recommended as per vehicle standards. This is almost considered sectioning and the standards to ensure integrity is much more in-depth, with rustproofing before and after etc.....
It looks like the new trans cooler sheds heat towards the radiator - does that affect engine temps?
Where did you order that newer alternator??
This was helpful, as my softener was showing the same symptoms. So I ordered a new switch from Amazon, and the problem was still there. I was almost certain that I was going to have to replace the water softener, BUT THEN I took a closer look at the cam wheel that actuates the switch. It had a pretty good crust of salt and corrosion on it, especially in the recesses. So I scraped it all clean with a little screwdriver, and reset the machine again. It went into regen mode, so I will monitor and see if this truly solve the issue. So: make sure you look at the cam wheel and be sure it's clean enough for the switch to operate through its full stroke.
LMFAO! Next time read the manual.
Great job. Thank you.
When you put your Carburetor on did you use a spacer? If so what size?
Best tutorial I found! Thank you!!
Take the deck off, clean it to the metal… 3 to 4 coats of primer… 3 to 4 coats of paint… done
Take the cross member off on the bottom and install from the bottom. 3 bolts on each side and remove. Cooler goes in from the bottom. Mine came with rubber bushings for the bottom mounts so it sits higher.
Simple look at the munchy crunchy rust or do something this is way better than doing nothing if you can't weld it in
Thank you Dan. Mine was doing the exact same thing. It was nice to see the same problem with a pretty easy fix.
Great video man thanks so much easy money
Awesome, just did my daughters a week ago to realize today its upsidedown. First video I watched the first common sense that they crack their windshield. This worked perfectly
A repair at reasonable costs. A little more work, and it will be done. Without r,ust treatment of the very rusty parts and the also rusted floor panels, it will last from 12 o'clock til noon, as we say in Germany. Good work in vain.😊
I had that problem when I installed cork, didn't bother to read the instructions torqued it down installed the carb the works, only to find out the rear cork was completely off and dangling! Didn't bother to start it, only this time I removed it bought a Edelbrock not that cheap made in China (intake) crap which by the way didn't align at all and I had to grind it-I just gave up on it wasn't sealing correctly, the Edelbrock aligned correctly, I am very cautious now about what I am doing. My first rebuild!
Put it in from the bottom and you don’t have to empty your AC system
Oil injection is the dumbest shit ever lol pumps fail and blow ur engines like the one I just got lol smfh stupid design
How well would semi batteries fit in the tray. I bought mine a year ago. It’s got a getto set up right now. Wanna do a proper one probably not much performance gains sucking hot air from the engine bay lol.
Do you need to have 5 wires for Nest ?
just what i needed Thanks
If you rotate the head to get the piston in is there a chance you are moving the piston ring to cancel the hole opening on the piston?
Use a Good Quality New Razor Blade. Old Blade edge can leave Scratch Marks on Glass. I know happen to me long time ago.
If it ticks do you have to replace them or just clean them?
I would start with cleaning.
That's wild that you got the lifters apart without using vise grips. I tried banging them on wood like this and all I did was succeed in driving the lifter 1/8" deep into the wood. It was not coming apart without pliers, very stubborn.
Thanks for the video I don’t have my dad around sadly he passed away 5 months ago and he would show me what to do so I am going to fix up my skidoo tomorrow by my self
You are advising people to use petroleum jelly on rubber O-rings! I suggest you do a little bit of research about that. You will find that it eats away at the rubber. Viewers, this is why you should thoroughly review the repair manual for your machine first and foremost before searching UA-cam because UA-camrs are not necessarily experienced mechanics
This is coming from a guy that has 1 subscriber and no videos. No one made you watch my video. By all means if you have a better technique, make a video and show people. Instead of beating someone down who is trying to help! (Btw this machine is still running.)
There's a big myth about not mixing the lifters up, Ideally yes try and not too, But I rebuilt an M54 top end on my 330ci with Ebay scraps, Different lifters in different trays with different cams😂 It's the quietest M54 you will ever hear😊
with hydraulic lifters there is no difference where you put them
Excellent video on changing gas filter and gas line.
Thank you, Thank you for this video. I put the button on the wrong way and didn't know how to get it off. I really thought I had to buy another mirror but I didn't .This video really help me instead of using what you had on the video. I use a lighter and yes it came off. In the year of September 2023 thank you Jesus.
Can you just unplug the throttle cable ? Job done? Or you have to disconnect the hose from the tank , loop hose to the carb and loop hose to the pump ?
I’m not sure if just disconnecting the throttle cable would completely shut off oil supply? I guess even if it didn’t you would just be running rich?
@@danofalltrades3567 that was also my guess ! Thanks for the feedback!
@@danofalltrades3567 did you have any failure with leaving the pump on without oil running true it ? I saw there was a block off plate made for this but i want to do it the safest way possible!
@@luongobolduc21 no issue leaving it on. I personally like the block off plate though. Makes it cleaner looking👌
Is It easier to rebuild the top end with the motor still in the sled? I’ve got a 2003 Firecat 500 and I’m trying to decide whether to pull the motor or not for top end rebuild
It’s very possible in the sled and less wrenching.
Oh man thanks for this. I thought I was screwed. I am a little embarrassed to admit it, but when I was replacing the button after the mirror fell off, I put the dang thing on upside down. Even after telling myself to be sure it was in the right orientation. I noticed it pretty quick, but it was too late to change position at that point. Anyway, you saved my bacon brother.
Thanks for comment. I'm glad I wasn't the only one.
Will this fit a 2002 f250 5.4 triton super duty?
I would check there website. I can’t say for sure.
