Love your content! I don’t build but love watching video. Maybe one day 😊. The one thing I can’t figure out is the decorative toe kick looks AMAZING, but what happens if the floor is not level where you install it? Wouldn’t there be a gap from shimming it? Thank you for the video!
Very beautiful and precise! I just found your channel and I wish you could share some videos on how you make the beautiful insets and inlays on the door. Appreciate it.
I’d like to point out that glue will degrade over a long period of time. The drawers will then in use come loose and probably fail. Even the nails will degrade and loosen. But you will get between 5 to 10 years out of them. The usage sliding back and forth makes the glue fail faster than something that just sits. But hey, this is what the world wants. Fast and cheap. Great video.
My house is 33 years old and the drawers are cheap melamine that are glued and Brad nailed together. They are pathetically cheap yet they are still working just fine. Dovetails are an unnecessary luxury. Spend the money elsewhere where it matters.
@@erikstewart3448 Your observation of one house is anecdotal. I can show you where glue deteriorates, but the glue joint still holds because it’s a solid dovetail joint. A man wiser than me once said nails only hold themselves. At least use a screw.
Drawers in my kitchen are stapled melamine. Zero issues, 17 years old.
@@markolmstead4709 oh dear, staples.
@@donhuffer5167came with the house, I didn’t make them.
This office desk is absolutely beautiful.
Why does this sound like Tom Green when you play this in 2x?

How did you make those glass doors?
Just came upon ur channel. Good stuff. I was wondering how do you finish the walnut?
I had meant to inquire on the door dimensions. If you would please give some info regarding those rails and stiles, that'd be great? I see that the inner stiles are not as wide as the outer.
This was excellent. Thank you. I totally plan on emulating your plan for my upcoming kitchen cabinets project. One question...there's no issue with the stiles cracking when putting in the pocket screws?
Great video now I know I'm not the only one who talks themselves through projects thanks!
Tell me again how you fitting those shelves in there?
How many people work with you in the shop?
where do you find those snap on hinges? What are they called?
Blum inserta
Your face frame was flush with the edge of the cabinet and extended to the outside of it. Mine has the frame coming to the inner side of the cabinet. Is there something for that?
If the drawers and doors are full overlay, why spend the time making a faceframe when you could just cover the edges of the plywood walls? Seems like that would be faster, which you said is your objective.
Thanks this information is very detailed. I'm New to wood working and now working on a 10 by 10 kitchen for my mom and i was having issues making this corner cabinet. glad i found you here.
Very nice work! Especially appreciate the explanation on the hinges 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
He has returned
If the top is painted how are you dealing with the hair line crack or inconsistency between the ply top and the solid trim around the 3 sides as I have been miter folding. Your way could be better
Excellent work. Really enjoying your videos. One comment on the Blum hinges. To avoid the plywood build up you can use Blum 29mm Cruciform plate 173H9130.18. It works perfectly with inset face frames.
Thanks Great information.
Well, you have inspired me to put in the extra effort. I am fitting some inset cabinet doors now. I usually go overlap, but I wanted that inset look for this project. Good to see that even the pros have to put in the work and there is no real shortcut. I will get to work scribing and sanding. Good thing there are only four doors on this project!
masterpiece
You’ve got some great suggestions in this video. I’m gonna try this method for some shop drawers. I need in my as assembly station. Basically it’s like making a tablesaw sled and then adding sides that are longer. Why do you use a pneumatic oscillating sander as opposed to using a cordless or a plug-in? Is that just something you were using back then?
Hello❤
So not sure if I missed it, but what is the reason for using half cranked instead of full cranked?
Wondering this too
You use half crank (meaning it's offset from side panel about 3/8) plus a 9mm plate. The 9mm plate plus the 9mm (from the half crank) kicks the door 18mm inset as compared to full overlay. In other words, your using half crank hinges to get a half overlay, then pairing it with a 9mm high plate, then installing the plate back farther than you would on full overlay (you install the plate back by the thickness of your door) so it's inset and within the frame opening..
Keep the videos coming man!
Great to learn from a real cabinet maker. Thank You,
What biscuit jointer are you using?
Great build God bless!
Where did you you started back up then disappeared again 😂
@@rileyblue2143 making and editing videos takes forever! 😂 it’s. A continual struggle . I’ve been shooting 3 different vids but can’t find the time to compete them with all the other work and deadlines continuously pushing me . They are coming though !
I'm confused about the measurements at the 2:25 min mark. It's a little blurry, so I'm not sure I'm reading it right, but it looks like 27.5 in for the height of the center doors and 6, 9.75, and 11.75 for the heights of the side drawers. Should the middle doors be 28 in high to account for the 1/4 in gaps between the drawers?
What do you use for a face frame with inset doors?
Nice! How much for the cabinet?
Hey, great work. Question, how many people do you have working with you? Also, did you think about getting a CNC?
Any reason why maple inside? Just curious. Building something very similar and using all oak, aside from the backing. Great video, watched it multiple times.
Really appreciate that . Thanks . Really no reason other than our standard practice for all cabinets is maple interior. If someone wants to pay more we do continue that same wood throughout the inside . We recently did some walnut cabinets that were all walnut inside including walnut drawers . Using all oak is definitely a good choice !
Thanks for your reply.
Nice work mate. A couple of suggestions though - you've got a Festool dust collector so hook it up to the sanders and you won't be covered in so much dust and crap. Second, I think you should wear safety glasses around the machine you use to bore the holes for the hinges on the door. There's a lot a crap coming out of the bits and you you wouldn't want to get something in your eye. Keep up the good work and especially the navel gazing as that's how we develop as a person.
Thanks appreciate the support and the tips ! Ha , yes maybe a little too contemplative but I agree honest reflection equals growth!
Why not use Biscuits on face frames cheaper than Lamello.
Hi, do you shim out the cabinet side hinge mount to be flush with the face frame for an inset door? The part where you showed the boring of the holes glossed over the fitment of the inside hinge. Can you talk a bit more about your jigs? Thx!
This is a great way for me to build drawers for my shop. Thanks
Keep the videos coming! Love your channel.
Excellent work. I love your philosophy and your work ethic. Keep grinding.
Looks great. Do you by any chance have detailed plans for it?
Im gonna call this Furniture!! Does this mean where gonna start seeing Tables, chairs, and beds on your channel now 😂
Excellent very informative
Die dritte Generation übernimmt Blum: ua-cam.com/video/CpZFbfSX5cc/v-deo.html
The two gentlemen in the video are Martin and Phillip Blum, grandsons of Julius Blum. You don't have to speak German to hear how the Blum name is actually pronounced.
Blum USA / Blum GmbH is named after its founder, an Austrian gentleman named Julius Blum. His name is pronounced exactly like the English word, "Bloom." It does not rhyme with "Plum"
I really like the cabinetry! Especially the intersecting curves on the upper doors. Would really like to see how you did that. You are great cabinet maker!!! Keep showing how you create, that is what brings me back.
Appreciate that !
When you said the upper part would be painted at the end....I was like....painting over walnut veneer? You must do a decent amount of veneer work to have the confidence to seam that front panel in the middle. No way I'd nail that seam lol
