Overlanding at Imogene Pass - Ouray to Telluride(Part 3)
Join my friend Dave and I in this short Mini Series (3 part) about our overlanding adventure through the beautiful mountains of Colorado. As we travel to and overland the evergreen mountain range, we are met with unexpected challenges that make the experience exciting and unpredictable. As plans of exploration change from Black Bear Pass to Imogene Pass, adventure is guaranteed! Our 4x4 vehicles of choice are Two Toyota 4Runners that are reasonable equipped for the expedition.
Part 3: After a restful night, we wake to a white dusting of snow on our vehicles and the surrounding area. Luckily, the snow was very light and melted away by the early morning. We travel to the Imogene Pass trailhead where the end of our adventure is about to begin. While navigating the not so difficult pass, we encounter river crossings, streams, delapelated houses and buildings, and find ourselves at an old mining town called Tomboy Town. The town had been abandoned and destroyed by the elements over time. We continue down the pass as we are occasionally forced to the edge of the road as passing vehicles squeeze between our 4runners and the mountains side. A few inches of dirt are all that separate the calm and exciting moment from the hundreds of chaotic feet below. DON’T ROLL YOUR VEHICLE! Finally after a full day of traveling the pass and exploring its interesting history, we reach Telluride, Colorado! After airing our tires back to a reasonable PSI, we travel through MOAB, Utah where Dave and I separate ways home.

Great work, even tho it was a short it helped me understand how to remove the flooring
Got free time and some disposable?
Lake Havasu is a Mecca for retirees… So most likely haha
That's tight!
Thing zips like a robot!
I got a hamster that would love that
Still waiting on someone doing a Stuart Little Style Full working Miniature Vehicle
Now that would be something to see! Haha thanks and stay well!
That would also be fun! Get a little camera in there with him!
Yeah people make random candidates, a decade or so ago, there was someone who put their name as “you”
Crazy that it’s even possible haha thanks and stay well!
Please stop calling it "overlanding." It's car camping at Black Bear Pass! You're not in the middle of Africa 🙄
@photomaker4502 Ya, but ‘car camping at Blackbeard pass’ just doesn’t sound as awesome! ‘Overlanding’ is waaaay cooler!
So if you’re in Africa sleeping in your vehicle I’m pretty sure that could also be called car camping. Doesn’t matter what country you’re in you can classify it how ever you want. :)
Amen! Thanks and stay well!
I have and amd cpu and a lite radio 3 and it says driver error what shall I do
Unfortunately, the only thing I know of is to either flash the drive or all software. Otherwise, try another computer. Sorry I’m not much help on this issue. If you figure it out and let me know!
This trail is legendary!
Thanks
Thank you! Hope it helped!
Well call the actual popo and give the the address they might not find anyone but it's a start
Been done my man! Thanks and keep an eye out!
Good stuff chap, looks as good as a brought one. In future running a wire and buying a cut length of horticultural shade netting a rough stitch along it for a nice edge and a bag of net clips would keep $50 in your pocket. $60 USD is $96 NZD. Your out looks like mars compared to wet NZ bush, can you shoot coyote's from the back fence? .22-250, Mrs on the spotting scope and a 6 pack of beer sounds like a good arvo.
Nice! Thanks for the tip! I’ll keep that in mind for the next version! If you can keep it quiet, you could certainly hunt coyotes. I’ve seen a few scurry by at dusk. Would certainly make for a good time! Haha lots of rabbits though! Thanks and stay well friend!
@@CEEJ-MANboltaction .300 subs and a really big suppressor 👍 I think they are restricted there 🤯 a loaf of bread would be more restricted here incase you have allergies 🤣 A can is just PPE
Saved me from a ton of mistakes. I have either kilmat or some dyna mat left over I was going use to diseminate the tinny sound but I think I'll use some wool batting too. Just have to figure how to attach without it being able tangle with any moving parts. Thanks for the video.
Hmm that’s a good idea! You could try some spray adhesive and layer over it with the dynamat. Dynamt is awesome stuff! I wish I’d had some laying around when I pulled my door apart! Good luck! Let me know how it goes and what you come up with!
❤
Thanks!! Stay well!
The rodeo is wild 💀
Definitely the least effective, but certainly the most enjoyable! Haha thanks and stay well!
I feel your pain my acro bro 😂
It’s like being kicked between the legs man! Haha stay well man!
She should understand shit happens with toys? 😂
She’s going to make me choose cheaper toys that don’t break now! Haha thanks and stay well man!
Noooo would love to see the crash footage though hope DJI helps out
Haha I’ll try and get something out soon! Thanks and stay well brother!
@@CEEJ-MAN thanks, you too!
one room for every like
The screams of pain
I still hear my internal screams from first impact. They haunt me to this moment! Haha stay well man!
Be a great bunker if you can round up more dirt too hide thee openings.. close thee other and use it to smoke fish or meat
Seriously! The possibilities are endless with this one. All ready mostly buried under dirt too!
@@CEEJ-MAN exactly
Flash flood trap in the making. 😂
Haha ya, don’t get caught there in a storm!
Number 2 creepy ya think
Boarder line creepy haha
Imnmoveinginrentfrerthankyoumyfriend😂
Haha it would make for a nice ‘vacation home’ too! When your wife kicks ya out!
Which state did you purchase yours?
Arizona, but it was an old ‘Cruise America’ rental, and looked like it had issues long before it was sold off haha
Thanks and stay well!
Same dealer I've been looking at for years 😮😂
We went to the one in Vegas and looked at 7 different units… they were all beat to heck haha. Finding the right one is… a challenge haha
Did you have an RV inspection prior to purchase?
@@dryvonne1999 no I did not… but that’s great advise for the next one! Haha I’ve had a few of these and was pretty sure I knew everything too look for… this was the first time I’ve had an issue like this. I have the full video of the before and after that I’ll post soon! You can see the nightmare I had to deal with haha all is better now thank goodness! Thanks and stay well!
Just pull forward more.
Too easy!
Why not just back up? Lol
Obviously that would have required a 6 point turn. I was implying unwilling to do that! Haha thanks and stay well
Your typical dumb Toyota driver just turn the car around
That’s not very nice. It’s ok if there’s another way to accomplish a task. Persistence and determination are what yield success. Not belittling an entire genre of people that buy cars whose engines have timing chains and regularly drive over 200k miles even when totally neglected. Not to mention those of us who love to write with run-on sentences. Thanks and stay well!

Ya, newer generation Toyotas are not the same as old. That we can agree on.
The music is very annoying, and unnecessary.
Sorry you feel that way, but thanks for the feedback! Stay well!
It’s so cute😍
Right?? I’d never seen them feed before though! Have you? A little scary haha
The fencing aile at home depot has post for $21 10ft 1 3/8
Nice! I’ll look into that when I swap out the post. Thanks for the suggestion!
From one dad to another, this was a fantastic video! No fancy jargon, simple, accessible and such a friendly tone. Really good stuff!
Thank you sir! Means a lot. Takes a lot of time to make a video too! Sheesh! Haha stay well friend!
Honestly the same thing happened when I visited Missoula I got to a hiking trail and there was still packed snow and thought “damn I should’ve brought some spikes” and bam a pair of broken yak traks appeared on a bench felt like a gift from nature like yes my child continue your adventure
It’s wild how often that kind of thing happens. When it’s meant to be, it’s meant to be! Haha thanks and stay well!
The matrix is breaking 😂😂
I may have seen a black cat run across the trail at some point haha
Same happened to me put with gloves😂
Oh man, my gloves are in constant transition haha thanks and stay well!
God bless bro ✝️💪🙏
Likewise brotha!!! Thanks and stay well!
Oh fuck😂😂😂 I know this well.
The worst feeling, and the best feeling haha. Stay well brother!
This is insanely impressive in so many ways. I do respect a good less expensive alternative to a diy project. Well done!!
Haha thanks! Means a lot! It’s made it possible to go outside this summer! Stay well!
Looks good- I wonder how this help us for you and your family any changes you would make ?
You could check out the (part 2) for the most recent changes. Probably running cables around all edges would have helped with structural stability and material longevity better. What size is the are your looking to cover?
Is this Tom Hanks
Believe it or not, you’re not the first to ask that haha thanks and stay well!
Found another left hand glove 😅
More useful than a turtle-dove!
Me trying to figure out how he lost his glove in the first place down a dirt road at that, sir EXPLAIN 😂😂😂😂
Well, there was this lion, and a 35ft drop, and a Superman seat grab. Let’s just say we’re all happy it’s back where it belongs! Haha Thanks and stay well!
@@CEEJ-MANthere’s no beating that response😂😂😂
I could go on, but we’ll leave it at that! Haha
I though it was one of those videos where when he goes to pick it up all you hear is clapping
If I knew got to add the clapping I would have! Haha do you know how? thanks and stay well!!
True
Hahaha 😂
You can’t add concrete to the inside of the pole because now instead of the pole bending it’s going to sheer off with concrete inside of it, making it much more dangerous than what it was in the first place 😮
You might be right if this post was experiencing any serious force. But in this application, it has withstood several storms and with cable support has not had any problems. Thanks for your feedback though!
Very smart idea and your kids will benefit greatly. Great Job!
Thanks for your feedback! Stay well!
Thank you!
Thanks! Hope it helped!
Can’t watch your video. Camera is all, over the place. Actually got dizzy!
Ya, I know it’s not ideal. Be easier if someone else managed all the camera gear while I try to get everything else done. Thanks for your feedback! Stay well!
