Our own Richard Viard got inspired by our star, Akira, who lived in Tokyo up to age 29 and raced an AE86 in period. Akira ordered a Porsche 904 replica from Chuck Beck and took delivery in 2009. Sadly soon all combustion cars and trucks including classics will be banned from public streets in entire EU and Scandinavia :-( In Germany the Green Peoples Party gave order to shorten fuel supply from 2025 on by reducing all conventional fuel stations to only one state operated central gas station per city or county. Car washs will be forbidden too because they are climate killers, now they want to slow down all the gas station pumps from 20 litre per minute to 2 litre per minute...From 2027 on in the EU certain car spare parts will be banned too....as exhaust systems, turbo chargers and even some engine and gearbox oils...California and New York will do the same from 2027 on.... So no investments should be done in oil burning cars any longer....They even created a new kind of crime here, called emissions and smoke crime.!!! (BABVVEN & TEBBVEN & BEFVO laws)

My '75 2.0l 914 was a blast especially on canyon roads. Currently looking for my first '67 912 in Lemon Yellow which I sold in the early 80s in the Reno area. Have you seen it?
I call myself really a car guy, and I been lucky to drive a few really amazing cars but the 507 is number the one, is impressive, the smell, the feeling of the the long nose small back, the big dials in front of the steering wheel. Is unique. I participated in the restoration on one, a White with red interior and black tops. I remember how many hours I spent polishing many of the parts and painting some others, a few parts we fabricate them from scratch, like the knobs for the lights, wipers radio etc. It was a labor of love and a great learning experience for me. I saw this red one once in Keels and wheels Concourse de Elegance here in Texas, I chat with the owner.

I purchased "my" 914 in 1980 after five years of its manufactured date; 1975. I am the second owner. After forty one years, she still sits and is driven regularly under my ownership. Like "road glue" around corners of almost any roadway, the driving experience still brings on many smiles. You will potentially find owning it for many years while making great memories of its ownership. Welcome to the "club".
