My Name is Connor Lamb, I am from England and my passion is hiking long distance trails and documenting the process.
I Hiked Around The Alps
For my 10th video on hiking adventures, I figured I'd have to go heavy! I hope I don't disappoint with this as its probably my most ambitious film to date.
In this film I travel to Les Houches, France to start an incredible journey around the alps mountain ranges through France, Italy and Switzerland.
Grab a drink, tell your friends.

For quite a few years I've built up a certain amount of footage and stories that weren't particularly big enough to put into one film each, but more so to throw together in a hopeful storytelling fashion to give you ideas or inspiration for getting outside and enjoying life.

Tired of modern quick form content from tiktok and instagram? i know i am... Join me in this film following me north on my first solo backpacking adventure on the Pennine Way, a 268 mile national trail through the rocky spine of England and into Scotland. In May 2022 we embarked from the south of England on a flight up to Inverness, then took multiple levels of transport to get us to the top of the Island. We crashed quickly for the night and then started the trail that would change the way we see hiking long distance trails forever. I don't really like to mention it in my videos but, let me know if you would like to see a video made about the g...

North Downs Way Section
Переглядів 7393 роки тому
Back in Autumn 2020 me and Ched decided we'd spend a couple nights doing a section hike on the North Downs Way, as it was nearer to home and the days were getting shorter we still wanted to have a fix of outdoor experiences before winter truly set in. i hope you find this relaxing and enjoyable.

Me and my friend before the end of last year decided that together we'd try our first long distance trail. So at the beginning of August, despite this year going against us, we still decided to hit the trail and boy did it not disapoint. heres 10 minutes of bang average b-roll of the experience. I hope you enjoy(ed) Show your friends.
Fantastic mate, wonderful video! What a trip!
@@BenOutside thanks dude! Happy new years
I love your videos. They are so calming in times where I can't make it outside myself. Happy hiking :)
@@lotte6534 aww I’m glad you think so, it’s exactly how I want people to feel when I’m editing. And to be honest quite a nice mellow time in my life when I’m walking these hikes
Amazing video 📹 inspired me to plan the TMB in 2026 after the C2C in 2025...
@@Mindgame83 oh wow, the C2C is defo on my radar. I’ve gone passed a few of the cross junctions of it over the years but never gone east to west! You’ll have to me know how you get on. 🤞🏼
Another great video of an amazing hike. BTW where did you get your hat from???
@@RichardShortland-Neal my secret little favourite hat and the love of my life?! 😂 Na I think it’s a bora from Columbia in tan
Another wonderful film - thank you! I remember some of these views from many years ago and now I'm hankering to go back again... Transcendent moments in epic landscapes - if the emotions hit it's not just tiredness, the mountains undo us (and put us back together) in the best of ways! (; I'm secretly hoping you've got the PCT in your sights - you would make one of the best film accounts of that. You are certainly more than ready if you can handle back-to-back 20 mile days at altitiude off the couch (OK the beach/bar)! If you do have one of those epic long trails in mind do it in your 30s, don't do what I did and leave it till your 60s!
@@dcaudwell oh I defo felt that, I think I’m starting to notice how beneficial it for me to ripped apart by the hills like that. I seem to come out with a fresh mind and a better outlook going forward. As for the PCT I defo have at the very least the JMT on my bucket list so I will experience a nice portion 🤞🏼
@@lamboways Beautifully put! And so glad you are aiming for the JMT - it's one of the best sections of the PCT, that and pretty much the whole of Washington State! (Do that too, it's only just over 500 miles! Epic, wild country!)
@@dcaudwell oh hell yeah I’ve heard a great many things about the Washington section from friends and strangers alike :) I reckon I could do it separate trips or go big, guess I haven’t thought that far ahead yet! Hope you’ve had a great Christmas if you celebrate and happy new years to you!
Sublime as always brother🤘
@@greatwideopen thanks mate, hope you have a great Christmas
I walked this route last year, it was something I will never forget. Going back to do it a second time next summer.
@@Andy-LucyGSD quite the experience hey! I do see myself doing it again someday, maybe in the opposite direction and a little bit slower for a different experience
One of your best videos yet, mate! 26:21 - me during the christmas holidays 27:03 - bro wtf that's insane 10:13 - ey that's the animal that goes "HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!"
There he is, the most dynamic commenter 😂 Danish legend
Great video as always - but I must admit that I skipped around in the video, since I didn't want to "spoil" the trip for my future self. But man you are one nice bloke. Also a question: What time of year did you do this (may?) and how many days did it take? (7?)
No I totally understand that! Still grateful you checked it out, I’m similar before I set off on my adventures :) don’t wanna ruin it all. My actual time on trail I believe I did it in 6 days, spent a lot more time in Chamonix etc prepping and recovering. Time of year was late July
What a beautiful film dude 💯
Thanks Ben happy Christmas dude hope you’re having a nice relax
Amazing bro. Proud of you ♥️
🎉 Tom Lamb cameo one day
Let’s just do it!! Get up N’go
@@TL15TEC I’ll think of something bro
The physical and mental endurance on this guy is admirable 🫡 and the shots 😗👌🏼 definitely should have ended with “Fin.” Though! Exquisite film my friend.
Pom Pom! Have a good Christmas dude see you soon 🇦🇺
@see you soon brother!🫶🏼
17:08 You got a beautiful shot there. Which I'm sure looked immeasurably more impressive in reality. Was the trip expensive though? I can imagine the alpine huts were dear especially in Switzerland.
That was a shot leaving town at sunrise so obviously had the most beautiful glow on the mountain tops. The trip doesn’t have to be if you don’t want, for instance I would camped a fair section of it and just spent abit of cash on beers and restocking at supermarkets
Amazing to watch, thanks for uploading. Really inspirational
Thanks for checking it out merry Christmas
superb, thankyou for some much needed inspiration. My adventures are so far limited to 3 days but these films push me to go further. Merry Xmas.
Merry Christmas mate thank you
a fantastic hike, stunning views, wot a trip! cheers for sharing, one of the few hiking channels even my wife watches with me! ATB WJ

Lovely video ✨ definitely captured the various aspects of hiking and adventures whilst also working. 👍
@@KeiteiVentures thanks for checking it out Katie! Happy hiking 💪🏼
Will start the pennine way on the 11th of April and can´t wait to start the journey. After hiking the swcp I think this will a be a much easier inland walk with loads of demanding bits. love your video..did watch it a couple of times and it never gets old!
@@edherbst706 best of luck to you mate, enjoy yourself! I’m sure you will 💪🏼
Cracking monologue thank you. Not been getting out at all lately & this just reminded me what I have been missing.
@@S1.1981 glad it helped you out, that was my ultimate goal. I think myself included it’s nice to have a reminder to open up your world abit
YOU are completely correct, any time out in the landscapes are better than waiting for the perfect conditions to arrive at home. We who have the South Downs on our doorsteps can escape, your videos are inspiration for this average Joe to continue getting out when Time allows. Thanks for taking the time to produce them.

@@davemcw.2803 hi Dave 👋 thanks for checking it out, lovely comment
Beautiful! Poetic and pragmatic. But too short!
I want to walk along the West Highland Way, though I keep talking myself out of doing it. Mainly as I don't know if I can do it on my own. I love walking on the Downs on my own, though! Favourite thing in the world to do. Nice video, thank you for the words of encouragement!
@@ClaireCza hey, if you’re worried about being lonely I think the west highland way would actually be a really good option! It’s a very popular trail and thus has plenty of people in the same situation willing to walk, talk and share experiences with :)
Great film thanks for sharing it. We can’t all be out 52 weeks of the year on big adventures (maybe 2 for me), so have to fill the 50 or so with smaller adventures closer to home.
@@robhindle8735 I’m in the same boat for sure, makes me appreciate it more when I get out as well I think
Awesome
There are very few videos that actually make me feel the vibe captured in the filming, but you are able to do this in every one of your films. Such a talent and thanks for sharing the magic of our trails.
You’re very kind ❤ happy trails
Great vid as always mate! Keen for the next one!
Webby! Thanks man cheers for clicking
This is such a lovely video and really inspires me to get out more and just go exploring! Thank you 🤝🏻
This is the comment I was truly hoping for, my exact goal is just to excite people about the outdoors 🎉
Lovely video Connor, I admire your attitude and outlook on life. There definitely is beauty and enjoyment to be had in the everyday. I need to recalibrate myself towards that mindset.
@@BenjaminWilcock Yo Ben! Thanks for watching it, I guess that was my thought process here this winter is try to remind people they can get out and enjoy life still. I know it’s hard to stay positive at time but the outdoors is my lifeline 💪🏼
There's a lot of hiking/walking content out there, but yours is one of the few I've found that feels unique in its tone, with a real sense of honesty. These videos put me in a good head-space, and I hope you continue to make them.
Loving the videos, looking forwards to seeing more!
@@iouachan7 no plans on stopping for me, I’m hustling not great at editing so it takes me a long time haha
Really well put together video and a well articulated message. Found this one very relaxing, too.
@@lonester2797 grateful for you and others to see them :)
Great to see you making a video again, you have a real talent. Totally agree with what you’re saying in this one.
Thanks Stewart really appreciate it. have a great day
Ive got over 300 videos in my watch list but only few I truly enjoy(usually hiking with some meaning about life etc) and give likes to only special ones, so this one is one of them, any videos from you are way better then 100s of those same boring one night whatever fake epic stormy stuff those youtubes do this days lol I need to start posting mines too once I find more time and courage to do so haha
@@gregoryoutdoors I feel similar, I think that’s why I always try and craft my films in that way. The shock factor thumbnails etc just aren’t for me 😅 just unfortunate it seems to be the stuff that has a big click rate because of curiosity
@lamboways Yeah you are 100% right, only best and tru nature/hike loves knows and appreciate all that😀😄
Sick little short to watch on my lunch break 🤙🏼

Slightly different style of a talking head, reminiscent video. Let me know what you think!
Thanks for this low key and good walkthrough. I've been hiking for years, but I still picked up a couple of little gems.
@@ChristoferB thanks thats really good to know :) I feel like it’s difficult to cater for all levels of experience but it was fun making an all inclusive bag loadout
good job.
What an achievement, both completing the trail and the film you made from it too. Well done mate, you should be proud. You've inspired me to attempt to finish a film from my solo trip to the Dolomites that I've been struggling with for months. Of course I've subscribed too ✌
@@foot_down ahh yes, the hardest part for me is always sitting in front of the computer doing the editing process. But I’m always very happy I’ve done it once I see lovely comments such as yours :)
I like the backpack you're using. Apologies if I missed it, but what size are you using 40L ?
Feel free to ignore this comment.... I'm impatient, so I whizzed down your comments to see if anybody else has asked the question... I can see you've answered it before 40L. Let me know if you have an affiliate code as I'll be ordering myself one of those bags shortly :)
