There is a law called mandated reporting if children are involved. A person who has knowledge of abuse has to report it by law. As for being cynical, perhaps it is a result of discouraging critical thought by believers, often people are ostracized for asking honest questions about leadership and doctrine. The problem that I see and hear is that the corporate church is a mega million dollar corporation and it has gotten so far from honoring jesus and giving the glory to jesus and coming alongside a believer and discipling them in the calling and the giftings that they have. Instead, the corporate church has become the Godhead. That wants to tell us where they'll put us, and if will be allowed to be used if we don't fit in and wear their clothes or hop, where they say hop and jump, where they say, jump, we are ostracized. I don't see humility of mind and meekness in the pulpit in the larger churches. And this is help me realize not to be cynical about all churches, but also the fact as you said, we're to love the Lord with aller being and we're to love our neighbors as ourself. And then the church is a place we could come and worship. But we don't even hear the word too much.In the church.Corporate church any more, it has gotten so far from even that.

Thank you so much for this podcast. Johnny's sharing about the perspective of good churches outnumbering the mega ones is a word in due season for me. I idolized a young on-fire priest and discovered things weren't what they seemed to be, which led me to look at the unending scandals in the Catholic Church. The unhealthy structure of secrecy and lack of accountability has nearly shipwrecked my faith. There are those within trying to bring things to light, but it is a tough and sometimes lonely battle. Thank you for both of you - your wisdom, your ministries, and your heartfelt prayers!

I am 68 and was in Word of Faith churches in Oklahoma for years after moving there in '79. Back then? If something happened, it was swept under the rug. I reported things and was laughed at.

I won't lie and say I understand everything LA is saying as much of it goes over the top of my head, but I do think it's believable A request please? Can you break it down for lay people like myself 😊? Can't understand what Gen chapter that you quote all the time has to do with any of this so please bring a teaching for us less scholarly..yes? I'm going thru the process today of attempting to bring awareness to the church my abuser preaches at. I went into the church nearly 20 years ago to disclose a guilty verdict and was ignored. I'm now going thru an association that relays training and financial support to area church facilities and I'm not sure if still anything will be done about it. It concerns me that other women have unknowingly been put in harms way. Where is the fiduciary care for the body of Christ? How can any church preach the message that Jesus cares "about you" when the clergy members themselves do not care "about you"? Imo when whistle-blowers are ignored and dismissed, the reason is because they are believed. What is at the core of this form of racism is a females life over a man's reputation and career (and the fall out of other mens careers).

Great interview and very courageous of Cindy. I pray her story makes parents of pre-teens and teen’s acutely aware of sexual abuse and outright rape by pastors and counselors.

Everyone talks about 1 Tim 5.19 as though that puts pastors in a special position. Not so' 2 cor 13.1 makes it clear that in similar circumstances, church members who are not leaders are to get the same privileges. In fact, it even seems more strict: two witnesses PER fact, but both texts are merely based on Deut 19....and the requirement for establishing if something happened or not.

I'm a victim/survivor that suffers from CPTSD. My mother allowed my tormentor/abuser walk free - and afterwards he moved on continuing to wreck more children's lives until his death, never seeing a jail cell for all his many known crimes. His brother even told my mother before she married him to watch her children around him. She married anyway dismissing his warning. MY QUESTION IS: Why didn't her father prosecute Robert back then. Why wait 35 years where the highest amount of damage would be met with atomic detonation.

I heard Kathie in a video talk about going in chariots years ago. Some time after that, Jesus showed up with a diamond and jewel encrusted, one reminiscent of a Cinderella coach. 😍🥰 He takes me many places. ❤ When Kathie spoke in Las Vegas once, I saw gold dust manifest all over her. I was delighted I was only a few feet from her when it happened and get to see it as it appeared and started to covered her. I found that when I am in joy, delighting in Him, miracles start popping. 👍
