There is a law called mandated reporting if children are involved. A person who has knowledge of abuse has to report it by law. As for being cynical, perhaps it is a result of discouraging critical thought by believers, often people are ostracized for asking honest questions about leadership and doctrine. Thanks for talking about these issue. Good discussion
Very good point about ostracizing critical thinking… somehow in charismatic spheres we act like God only made half of the brain! And anytime a crime was committed it has to be reported - immediately.
God is judging His House by exposing the uncleanliness. When we don’t know the word of God we fall into deception. The fear of God is the beginning of wisdom and good understanding to those who love him. Thank you Jesus for your judgment that leads to repentance and correction. Not only those in leadership but the whole body who are guilty of “heart idolatry“, by placing your servant(s) on a peddle-stool instead of placing You above all else. Correct our crooked path and bring us all back on Your straight and narrow path of holiness and purity. ❤
So good to talk about this. My family had a horrible experience at church when the minister gave me a letter telling me God wanted him & I to be together. I gave the letter to my husband. My son had only been saved for 6 months. It is some 15 years later and I can never say we recovered. It’s a Calvary Chapel church. We stayed silent for the longest times to preserve the body of Christ & give the minister time to do the right thing. He never did step down. The church covered for him. Made excuses. Broke our family. Broke his family. Broke the church. If he had been forced out of the leadership it may have preserved it. Their covering it up is what led to their downfall and I expect it’s not over. He never did do the right thing. Probably has a pile of those letters and fills in new names.
God Bless you and keep you. Spiritual abuse and manipulation is not just a sin against the victims but against God Himself. People that cover up for sin ( which The Church has been notorious for doing) will reap the same as the sinner they covered for. When you know the right thing to do and you don't do it it will s Sin James 4:17🙏
Thank you so much for this podcast. Johnny's sharing about the perspective of good churches outnumbering the mega ones is a word in due season for me. I idolized a young on-fire priest and discovered things weren't what they seemed to be, which led me to look at the unending scandals in the Catholic Church. The unhealthy structure of secrecy and lack of accountability has nearly shipwrecked my faith. There are those within trying to bring things to light, but it is a tough and sometimes lonely battle. Thank you for both of you - your wisdom, your ministries, and your heartfelt prayers!
Thank you! I know for sure it doesn't. One time in travailing prayer Jesus shared with me the intense pain of His heart over all this. It was only a brief, couple of seconds of unbearable ache I felt physically. 🙏💔
I’ve had a similar experience at a low point after enduring spiritual abuse- the Lord showed me how He had been rejected too… and it actually made me feel closer to Jesus
Good, honest, kind points. I love the “ditches” part. We can have mercy on people and also call out the serious damage of sin, especially from leaders.
Thank you - that was encouragement at a time when so much seems to be discouraging. Paul often opened his letters praying for BOTH Truth and Grace for the Christians who would receive his teaching; we need the balance of both.
Addictive and enabling behavior is rampant in the church. It is the result of generational iniquity increasing and no teachings on identifying these issues. Forgive and forget and let’s just go forward is addict and enabling behavior. Issues must be completely worked through and understood healed before moving forward. It is said about Jesus in the New Testament He trusted no one because He knew what was in man.
I will go further and add to a comment below. Knowledge of a child being sexually abused is mandated to report. If a person is a therapist a teacher a pastor or one in leadership or in charge of children if they do not report can find themselves in jail.
Yep- the issues of “reporting” vs “not reporting” is only a consideration when a crime has not been committed (not all immoral behavior is illegal). Criminal behavior is mandated reporting.
So name the good safe mega churches and we can figure out the rest. I cut out giving donations to big mega preachers because I don't know who to trust.
My think mega church? Find a place that preaches the word of God, the gospel, no hype, blasting music just the word then compare what is being said to the word of God
You mentioned a prophetess participated in grooming a young girl for the bishop. A person is still privileged to have the gift of prophecy while participating in a grievous sin? I guess one is not required to repent to receive that gift. I don’t understand that.
Part of a coverup. If I move to a new town and I don’t know that a church doesn’t have Christ at head when the truth is covered up when God has exposed it terrible. And all the money going into it. I disagree with all your excuses.
Your a troublemaker and need to be saved. You really should repent and after you do work out ur own salvation and work on you instead on coming on programs like this and trying to convince all of us of a lie. The inly thing false is your make believe care as you believe your exposing someone. We KNOW who Johnny is and don't need someone who has no discernment at all to try and tell us different.
And you are a forked tongue liar standing with the accuser of the brethren. Repent before you share in his fate because you are doing the work for the enemy. .

Only certain people/professions are mandated reporters by law. But before God we are responsible morally.
Thank you for having Johnny Enlow on.

Wow I’m so sorry yall went through that!
Did you believe it and go with him?

The predators should be exposed, there's no excuse. If you don't expose them God will.
And prosecuted.
Love Johnny and his insight and walk with the Lord and sharing the heart of God with us !!!!!

Wow. Great podcast! Thx❤
Thanks for listening
If we dont expose wolf the wolf will go to another town and continue devouring the sheep and their children.
Not a fun thing to talk about but someone has to expose it so that people can be set free. Sad state of Christian churches. Lord help us.
❤❤❤

How would we know without having relationships with the leaders?

Balaam was a prophet and committed grievous sin. Someone’s gift does not speak to their character
Who was that “prophetess”?
Not sure- but that was a horrifying situation
Is that why so many female pastors are coming forth ..they are being called to mother His church back to His love?
Well, I’d suggest the issues we have aren’t gender specific… but issues in structure
Shepherd's responsibility is to protect the sheep (not molest them)
Amen
The problem is Charismatic doctrine is completely wrong. That’s what is causing this mess.
The Catholic Church and Southern Baptist Convention have the same problems (on a bigger scale)- so it can’t be a doctrinal issue
Just saw the number 222 no coincidences
I’ll tell you why! God is judging the church it’s in the Bible. And because you all love Trump.
What makes support of a political candidate worthy of judgment?
Not one word about Jesus. He's not important... More false prophets.
What Jesus had to say is the only subject we discussed
So his father was an Apostle!!!! Hello false teachers!!!!

Not sure I understand the objection?
I think she's saying the churches that cover these issues up are terrible, not the speakers on@@kingdomawakeningpodcast
