Replaced the Brake Booster with help from my brother. Big thanks to Andy Mechanic, (I called him Andy Mike in the video). Check him out for some great info... ua-cam.com/video/rYYzPIGoxfY/v-deo.html
What your changing the oil? You must have read the manual! Congrats on planning and getting through the outage. We did 10 days with a Prius as a power source. ua-cam.com/video/elzkayZS81U/v-deo.html
Why are you letting the generator run that long? Couldn’t you let the battery power everything, and charge the battery as needed?
sounds like quite a hassle getting these two to work together.
I noticed you voltage is set to 12 where rambling bob has his set at 10 volts...i reset mine to 12 like your to see if that fixed the problem im having of the main unit not charging past 53% now....but bob has been working with his unit a long time and helped alot people... perhaps the voltage setting is your problem...i dont know if you or i accidentally changed our voltage settings in the hidden menu...hope this helps in a way
So in stand alone mode, withe the EB3000, I have two renogy 200w 12v panels, would it handle both of those panels in series, or would I need to put them in parallel. My thought was using the DC output port of this EB3000 to charge my bluetti AC180 .. DC to DC.. I think it would put out 360 watts. seems like the cheapest way to add this much capacity to my AC180. The AC180 has a great inverter that runs everything in my utility trailer, I just want more runtime. Thought I would just move the solar over to the EB3000 and DC to DC charge the AC180.
I bought a E1500 Pro back in 11/22 Charged it up, put into a faraday bag until last night, hurricane helene. Didn't even do ONE DISCHARGE CYCLE, and it cut off on me at 99% and won't turn on. They better honor this damn warranty. Anybody else experience this? I was thinking of buying the expansion battery, but now, I am not sure.
I just bought a E1500LPF in late Aug 2024 that will shut off around 40 - 30% - it would just drain right to zero % with only a 60w load. I am currently waiting for my replacement unit.
I have a question… I have the same set up as you. Did your 4992w show up immediately when both units are connected/cascaded and the does the second battery need to be on or off. I have been told if not set up right it will ruin the battery. Help?
No, you have to manually change the setting. The user manual should explain the process but customer support is a great resource. They've helped me a great deal in the past
@4:47 "This is about a 5,000 kilowatt system..." So 5 MEGAwatts. Got it. ;-)
Thanks!
My e2000 makes those same crazy noises as well I'm down in Houston riding out the hurricane. This is the first time I used it. Do u think that sound could be dangerous l?
Mine made that noise and I ended up sending it back and it was replaced. It will make some minor noise but if it sounds like mine, yeah, I'd reach out to support and request a new one. It wasn't dangerous, voltage was normal, running at normal temps but the inverter kept making that clicking sound. You should be fine for the hurricane. Best of luck to you and yours!!
Just bought the same Firman,I have 4 Bluetti Batteries(2 AC180,PS72 and a PS200A}To charge if we get that big blackout.I bought the Refurbished generator from Firman for $350 with Free shipping and No tax..Bought it to use Propane......I think it was a good deal.......
Great video, thank you. My problem is that I cannot get my E2000 to charge up past 78%. The e3000 shows all charged. I disco'd the two units to do as you suggested, but it seems stuck. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
You might have the units cascaded incorrectly. What is the voltage showing? Really, @RamblinBobReviews has been great at helping to answer technical questions but I've found Pecron's email support to be a bit slow and cumbersome BUT they've always come through with solutions. I'd reach out to Bob to see if he has any ideas and contact Pecron and I' sure they will provide support. Best of luck to you!!
I know this video is two years old but you’re pretty darn entertaining and you should make more grilling videos.
** UPDATE ** Pecron replaced this unit. I sent it back two additional times and after the third time, they sent a new unit. I owned the defective E2000LFP for about 15 months so they honored the warranty. I've had the new unit about a month now with no problems.
I think they sold it to me :/ factory reconditioned unit doing the same thing
@@MountainLiving2 The good news is that they will send you a new unit. Mine is working perfectly now. Sorry you got a bad one but I'm sure Pecron will make it right.
@@BucksBe That's good to know. I'm currently trying to work through it with the tech dept/settings menu, waiting for a reply via email and or a phone call
They made me pay $300 to return mine, then took several weeks to receive a new one! I would love to buy this unit again, but they will have to reimburse me the $300. Be WARY folks...
hi, how's this unit working since you bought it?
I had a defective unit so I sent it back to Pecron a couple of times to get worked on then after 15 months of ownership and two failed repairs, they sent me a new model which is working flawlessly.
Have you got this issue resolved yet. I just bought e2000 lfp and its shutting down at 41 percent. so im only getting .9 watt hours now until it shuts down and ive only had it for 16 days
I'm sure you've figured this out by now but you'd want to check the voltage of the battery. When it dips below 23% and it's still showing 40% on the display screen, that means you might have a problem. Mine was the same and I ended up sending it back 3 times for repair but it never worked. Pecron recently sent me a new replacement which has been working great over the past month. Seems like both of our units have the same symptoms. Might be a bigger problem but make sure your unit is celebrated properly. I've found Pecron's email support to be sufficient and they ended up making good on the defective unit.
I got two of those battery's that's the way I did it.
thank you for being honest about how tough it is to remove/install anytin on firewall under dashboard. it's no joke
Hope you were able to fix the booster and thanks for the comment 😎
Nice set up! Glad it's working well. I have a similar set up. Exact same firman. Have a delta 2 ecoflow with spare battery. Lastly another firman 1600watt portable generator. Hoping it's enough for my needs in an outage...
In the menu change battery capacity from 1920 4992
Thank you for the shout out BucksBe :) We have really learned a lot with this model, and all the pecron models :) note: Yes, you have to wait until all the batteries and the main unit reach 100% to be able to reset that power meter :) (sometimes it takes an hour or two depending on the power meter reading to correct itself) note: if you ever charge through the batteries, you have to repeat this process every time to reset that power meter. E1500lfp has fixed this problem and checks the power meter non stop through out the day :) WARNING !!!!!......YOU CAN ONLY CONNECT 2 X EB3000 BATTERIES TO THE E2000LFP, NOT 3 AS MENTIONED IN THE VIDEO (4:45 timestamp) (If you connect more than 2 batteries to this system, you will risk starting a fire due to the resistance of the batteries) !!!!! E2000LFP + EB3000 + EB3000 is a MAX system for this model :) P.P.S. And we do not pay ANY attention to the lights on the batteries anymore (unless it is flashing red very fast meaning over voltage) The lights on this system are just useless most of the times it seems, they feed power to the main even if the lights are off ;) (we have mentioned this many times in our videos) Like I said, Pecron fixed this problem with the lights on the e1500lfp :)
I charged my EB3000 to 100%, then the E2000LFP to 100%, unplugged the charger and connected the two batteries using the cascade cable. I turned on the E2000LFP, and it was reading 63% charged (even though I knew both batteries were charged to 100%, so I assumed that the display unit wasn't reading correctly. I adjusted the 004 setting back to 1920w and let it sit for an hour, then came back and adjusted the 004 setting back to 4992w, and the display was still reading 62%, which led to my frustration. With the following settings, fully charged E2000LFP fully charged EB3000 cascade cable plugged into E2 & E3 batteries 004 setting set to 4992 plugged A/C Charger into E2000LFP Even though both batteries were full, the slow trickle charge increased the battery percentage shown on the display unit. After about 45 minutes, it reached 100%, and the batteries were successfully cascaded with the green light showing on the EB3000. I don't think this section is in the manual, (but it should be)
Will the extra battery kick in if the other battery runs out of power?
The unit is protecting itself, when voltage drops to 22volts it will shut down.
Why should the buyer take the "hit" on a new product that is supposed to work?
Did you get any assistance? For their poorly built E2000LFP, they are making me pay to return. Not happy
I'm sorry to hear that you're having trouble with the unit. Yeah, paying for shipping sucks but at least they paid for it coming back. I guess it's a reasonable way for both sides to take the hit. They did replace the E2000LFP and I've had it about 2 weeks running everyday. So far, so good and fingers crossed they get yours fixed ASAP.
Wow, no it is not reasonable in any way for the customer to pay to send in a new unit being fixed under warranty . Silly to even say that . This response sure saved me from wasting time and money on any of there products . They make there units cheap then charge you to ship there non working unit back to them . That is absurd to say the least .
PECRON needs to honor this warranty do to this mans issues and hook him up with a new one . I have this system running 2 batteries, uses other firm ware setup no issues here. Wish u the best results man. Wish i could help out. Enjoy 😉
Thanks Gus. I shipped the E2000LFP back to their warehouse in California and it is currently being repaired. They are fixing the old unit and not sending a new one. Either way, I'm hopeful it will be fixed.
Are u running the eb3000s or other batteries? How did u set up? Thanks
Throw it in the bin
Ha, hoping it can be salvaged :)
Sure, just toss $1200+ into the trash. Great idea. How about the manufacturer fix their shit. Time to put Pecron on blast everywhere
Have you tried using the E2000 without the EB3000 connected? Maybe go through 3 discharge/charge cycles without EB3000 connected.
reading pecron's manual it appears setting 1 and 2 are not correct. pecron says setting 1 should be 10 not 12 like showed in the video. setting 2 should be 1670 not 1583 as shown in the video. hope that helps.
I changed setting 1 to 12 as requested by Pecron customer service and that didn't help but my manual didn't have instructions on a specific number for setting 2. I'll give that a try and see if it does anything. Appreciate your suggestion. :)
That hard fat is the tallow. If you render it you will get a shelf stable fat that is great for deep frying.
I saw what you did wrong, Your system in the video that you put on your youtube channel is set to only 1,920wh.. If you have ANY batteries hooked u to this, You have to set the menu #4 to the correct watt hours. Have you had it set wrong for a whole year? This is why your system thinks it's empty at 40%
Didn't bov find a menu to cascade it correctly?
Did they every take care of this for you?
What was the outcome of this unit
Still having the same issue after talking with support a few times. It's pretty odd...
Slayed that
It fully charged. It seems you changed tech menu item and cut high voltage limit.
Thank you for the feedback. I don't think I changed the menu at all, (or at least not on purpose.) Their support team suggested that I change the 1st setting from 10 to 12, which I've done. I'm discharging now to see If I have the same issue.
For the price Pecron is hard to beat. I have the exact same system, eventually I'd like to get a second EB3000 and get 8,000 watts, and really it's one reason, there are 3 months out of the year during the summer it is crazy hot and a window A/C will drain quickly. But the other 9 months the 5k is really enough. I love this Pecron, so nice paired with a little 2k 1 gallon quiet generator.
I have been cooking with my Akron grill since they first came out. I just keep it in my carport when I am not using it. Over ten years of use .
lol that the family is miserable... while you're in heaven... and just giddy...
Pecron E2000 i only 75amphr and around 12volt / 2000 watthr , and is $1000. its best to get 2 or 3 4d or 8d semi batteries ( 90-145) amphr each ) ( found everywhere used scrap yrd ) so 2 or 3 is x90 =270- 300+ amphr ) , and also 2 solar panels, inverter cheap AND little 2kw generator , all way under $1000 . all bases covered for a grand
Great solution! I also bought the WHO3242 at Costco on sale for $600. I converted it to also run on natural gas per the following UA-cam video. Love it. Adding a Pecron power station is a great idea. ua-cam.com/video/nFavKuVAPTg/v-deo.html
HAHA I really felt the part where you said you were loving it and the wife and kids were miserable. It is a rewarding feeling when you finally make use of things you put aside for emergency's. My wife always fusses over these type purchases but when emergencies hit she really appreciates it. It also hit home when you talked about the extension cords and how things are different when you actually implement your plan, I've experienced similar stuff when having to implement part of my plan and realizing I wanted to put something somewhere else, or run this longer than I planned due to the time of year (like a window unit).
was that charging just the e2000lfp or both it and the expandable battery at the same time?
It's charging both batteries. The total capacity is just under 5k so charging at roughly 1100 watt per hour = 4.5 hours to charge the e2000 and eb3000 from 0-100% That's pretty fast!!
@@BucksBe that sounds great. I've been thinking for a while about getting a solar generator and I looked at Blue Eddie and all the different other brands but I think I'm sold on the pecron.
@@tommycarroll2768 The Blue Eddy is nice, has a ton of features and a longer warranty but for the price and the 1200w solar or fast AC charging, it's not possible to beat the Pecron. Been loving my set up!!
For a quick fix concerning the hand truck "lip", cut a small piece of plywood and place that first on the bottom lip. Then when you stack, the weight toward the wheels WILL keep the board flat and the units "bottoms" better supported.... Use the generator during the day for house loads and to charge the Pecron, then, just use the Pecron for overnight power.
BAD........... You spend 1400 damn dollars and the SOB does not extend runtime.... B.S.
Very interesting. Does it charge both of them at the same time?
It does. You can hook up 1,2 or even 3 AC quick chargers and it has pass through charging. Very easy to quickly charge up these batteries 👍
Cleaning the grill and drinking a beer chore is icing on the cake for the video great video.
5000 kilowatts? Dang, I gotta pick me up one of those 5-megawatt Pecron's! The charging that at 1100 watts is going to take about 200 days.
Ha! I failed to mention it takes up the whole backyard 😂 That might have been a slight error on my part.
