I wouldn’t buy any 2.7L after the mid-cycle refresh either. The engine just simply can’t handle that amount of torque, it was just fine where it was power wise and it was more reliable before they tuned it in the mid-cycle refresh. Totally agree! Thank you for watching! Mine is running strong at 55k miles so far.

After getting my engineering degree I didn’t expect to be doing Quality Control and being in the field full time. I had to get a 2017 Corolla since I didn’t have much money out of college. Really think I can use a truck now for my line of work along with all the home improvements and moving stuff around I do. @@victorvek5227 Yeah I mean it didn’t add significantly more road feel to the steering, they really just made it much heavier for no reason in my opinion. Looking hard at almost this exact truck the last few days. 6’ bed is a must and the King cab is good enough for a kid and a pup back there. Last truck was a 95 T100 ($20k), so this V6 S King is a duplicate of that. If I can get this S for $30k i think it may even be a better value than when I bought the T100 back in 95, as this S has a ton of stuff the T100 didn’t have. Practical things like decent seats, timing chains vs timing belt 23mpg vs 19, doors to behind the front seats, traction control “locker” etc, etc. Pro4x isn’t great off-road stock either. Tires aren’t right for our Oregon mountain snow, not really enough ground clearance, skid plates aren’t great (plastic trans pan). I like getting a cheaper truck and getting what I want aftermarket, tires I want, lift I want, shocks, etc, etc. If traction control locker/s isn’t adequate, I’ll put the locker I like in and seal the diff cover better while I’m at it.

@@MichaelZimmerer Yeah if I had my choice, I would keep the 2012 Escape over the Bronco Sport. I have a 2010 XLT model with a 2.5L engine. She’s been with me for 14 years, and I have enjoyed every moment. It’s easy to maintain and pretty comfortable to drive. The only major issue I have faced is a transmission axle seal leak on the passenger side around 120K miles, but overall, this generation model is top-notch. Change your Mercon LV transmission fluid every 40K miles and your engine oil every 5K miles, and this car will last a long time.

    • @CEALLIFORNIA

Even after the engine has been running for 4-5 minutes, it still feels a little labored on take off (below 2000rpm) before it gets rolling. While driving the only thing that robs the 2.7L of power is the AC being on, the engine does feel a little sluggish with the AC on, which I didn’t notice in my 3.5 EcoBoost before this truck. Every plastic item on that vehicle looks like junk and will break, crack, scratch or fall off. Too bad they did not do better. Toyota does a much better job in this area and fit and finish. The only 2 reasons this may be preferable to be is the V8 and pricing. Cars and trucks are deteriorating as the years go by.

    • @CEALLIFORNIA
      @CEALLIFORNIA 14 днів тому

The only thing that I really thought looked cheesy was the column shifter, everything else looked pretty solid. Didn’t get to play with the mirrors, but I would hope with them being an integral part of the truck, that they’re quality made, the door handles did feel pretty solid for being plastic, they’re pretty thick. I’m sorry to hear that, is it an updated model with the new front end? I’m sorry, it’s disheartening to pay this kinda money for these trucks and be met with issues like this. The worst part is the 5.3L isn’t as good as it used to be either. Thank you for watching, I hope you are able to get your truck sorted out.

It is so nice to have a review from a taller person! I am 6'6" and it sucks seeing these reviews from 5ft 5in kids. Thank you!

Thanks for the close-up look at this loaded XLT. It really let me see where I came out ahead with my 24 Lariat (2.0 AWD w/ 4k tow) over the XLT. Got it two months ago from dealer stock at the $37,370 sticker, it does everything I want it to, and quickly. I have already talked to a few owners who have lowered theirs, looking really good, one even ran his at the drags. The Maverick platform is still a basic/entry vehicle, so there are some common luxury features not available even in Lariat trim, such as memory for driver's seat and mirrors, power folding mirrors w/ turn indicators, perforated & ventilated seats, change number of turn signal flashes, etc. The likely more expensive 2025 Lobo will have very limited factory personalization possible, but will have paddle shifters on a 7 speed auto, as well as upgraded brakes and suspension to go along with the lowered stance.

I think you got an awesome deal for that being a Lariat model. The Lariat Maverick’s are pretty rare if I’m not mistaken. Plus, you have the 4k package which I would definitely option on my Maverick if I got one. Thank you for watching, enjoy your new Maverick!

@@CEALLIFORNIA Lariat may not be that rare, turns out a neighbor a block over on the next street has an identical Lariat to mine. Have a great autumn.

Not every detail of these reviews will be perfect as I don’t get to spend an extended period of time with the cars. It really is just my goal to give viewers a good idea at what a car looks like before they head to the dealer. Thank you for watching!

Up grade in looks for this vehicle, but I believe problem is in power train, mainly the engine and transmission ,is the same and a little under powered.

I would love to the 2.0L make a return, it made the Equinox such a little rocket! I’m not as enthusiastic about the 1.5L either. Thank you for watching!

ive always owned the 5.3 silverados. i probably will neve buy a 2.7 used because i just wouldn’t trust that truck not being a pile of dog crap abused. and i wouldn’t buy it new for almost the same price as the v8. if im ever buying a new 2.7 they better drop that price tag down to 35k new. the reliability is questionable for the long run because turbos go bad at 100k the 5.3 is naturally aspirated so theres no extra performance parts to go wrong you are just getting straight natural strong performance reliability out of a v8. thats why guys say the 5.3 is better and they arent wrong. i honestly cant see that 2.7 making it to 100k without replacing something major on it. it would make a great lease truck no doubt but like i said if you wanna sell that model to consumers they need to drop that price tag to 35. its a friggan 4 banger not an 8

I definitely understand that point, I never keep my vehicle a long time, so I’m never concerned about long term reliability myself. However, if I was someone looking to own a Silverado for 5-10 years and running it up to 100k+ miles, I would definitely go with the 5.3L. I think it really depends on how long you’re keeping the truck as to which engine you buy. Thank you for watching!

I prefer the Colorado over the GMC. What I don’t Ike is the engines, don’t want a turbo. I have a 97 1500 with a V6, and I doubt these turbos will have the longevity. Enjoyed the review. 👍🏻

Thank you for the kind words man! I think you’ll probably get a lot more miles out of that V6, the Nissan Frontier still has an n/a V6 is that’s that you’re after. I drove it and it was a great truck. Thank you for watching!

I just got done looking at a new Silverado with this motor. I’ve owned Chevy for 25 yrs. This last time I bought a V6. I don’t haul livestock although I do actually use it as a truck with carpentry work I can tell the lack of power but I wanted to check the MPG. I’m a little nervous but this video has helped and all the comments. Thanks

I just hauled 1700lbs of flooring in the bed and she hauled it like a breeze, the payload on mine is about 2000lbs flat in this configuration. I hope this helps, thank you for watching!

Wipers can be very easy fixed. You need to adjust the wiper bladr in way it is perpendicular to the window. There's a lot about this issue on YT.

Wow, such low quality. Chevy really ought to embrace electric motors because they are so much more reliable. You should have absolutely zero things go wrong on a 40k truck. I can only imagine the repairs the turbo is going to cost you when you hit 80-100k

    • @CEALLIFORNIA

So far at 54k miles, no more issues. The throttle body was definitely a strange hiccup at that low mileage, but no issues since. Thank you for watching!
