This is the first time I've seen someone use this technique to loosen tight, tangled roots. Well done.
Thank you so much for this info Warren. So worried about using fertiliser on Disas. Would seaweed fertiliser be more gentle on them? I was advised not to use any or if any at all very diluted. I got so many questions on this.
I will try this eventhough I'm in Victoria. Wish i found you before i hired a skip to throw out all the tree cuttings from pruning! I could have made so much of this! I will however try it at least once when i have some free time and some more pruned tree branches. Do thick rose branches work too Warren? I'll need to prune my huge roses soon and some have quithe thick branches. Would love to try it if works with them too.
If you have friends or family that have fires inside or outside it is just a matter of filling the tins & throwing them in.
I grow my first disa seedlings in moss as well. Thank you for sharing this video with us Warren! ❤😊 Your moss looks much better than the live moss i purchase here in Victoria! Looks much more alive and healthier with more benefits to offer.❤
Are you certain it is live & not just dead moss hydrated. I collect my own moss & have actually just been today.
@orchidswithwarren6839 I really do not know. Its labeled live moss. I could only get it at Collectors corner.
Lovely video. Great to connect with you Warren
Thanks
Hi Warren could I know what is the best time to repot cyms in Melbourne?
Now would be best before it gets too hot.
Nice setup🔥🔥🔥
Thank you.
@orchidswithwarren6839 would love to start with Dracula in my collection 😁 any recommendations on some species to start with 😁
@@orchidswithwarren6839 received my first one today 😁 Dracula velutina 😍
@@Houseplantexplorer good luck with it.
@@Houseplantexplorer Dracula cordobae I find a good one to grow & flower easily with nice large flowers.
nice .....what is the name of that red colour cymbidium?
Little beauty 'Ace of Spades'
How many times a week you water them
@ kayak nya cay imbidi daun yg di remas2 bau wangi apa itu pandan wangi.
When is the right time of the year for repotting
Spring usually after flowering time .
On ya Wazza! Been yonks since I've done this and appreciate the lesson mate.
What time of year is best to do this, I’m guessing spring, thanks
Yes spring after flowering.
Hello I have been growing Disa for several years and appreciate seeing well grown plants, and will give your potting mix a try ,you haven't mentioned how and what you water with, Disas have a lovely range of colours and as they are cool growing they don't require much artificial heat ,I have found watering and the strength of feed is problem, I thought I had to tell you that that display is credit to you and your other Orchids look nice clean and healthy, Thanks for sharing it with others on youtube
Thanks for the feedback. Mine grow outside just under shade-cloth. Our temps vary from 0C to 30C. I use a 12 month slow release pellet that I buy in bulk as well as a fertilizer called osmoform when first potting up. Other than that I just water when they look like drying out with town supply using a hose.
Thank you 🙏👍
Your welcome
Eu am pierdut una frumoasa roz deschis cred că am lăsat-o prea mult timp in apă 😘😘😘😘😘
Good information ❤❤❤
Thanks for the feedback.
Gorgeous! I just ordered my first Disa, cant wait until it gets here.

Me gusta mucho
Thank you very much.
Thanks Warren. I’m getting into cymbidiums and have some that need repotting. I’m getting ready and watching your videos first. They’re excellent thanks. Hello from the Mornington Peninsula!
Thanks for the feedback & hope they help.
Thankyou mate 🙏❤️
Your very welcome.
Scbale?
?
I have just bought one and so love it. But the pot is too small and i think in spring i need to repot it to a bigger pot. May i ask if i can buy the special soil like urs in the video to repot it? I dont know where to find it. Its may stupid to ask but we dont use normal soil for this type of plant, right? Thanks so much ❤
I make my own mix & I would suggest contacting your local orchid society as they usually can advise what or where to get it & most actually sell it. Cymbidiums mostly grow in trees so no soil is not good as it stays too wet for them.
This looks like heaven - where is this located?
Hi, your disa's look so healthy! I just bought my first ones and they are planted in sphagnum moss. This is such an informative video, thanks. Can I ask what brand potting mix you used and where do you buy the osmaform from? Do you keep yours in a tray of water or just water them like normal?
Hi Warren .So beautiful, thank you. just wondering what sort of mix do you use for them and as I know they should sit in weater all the time but yours not? how often do you watering them, thanks
I just start my Disa journey. My Disa leaves keep having yellow tip. Do you have any idea how to make the plant happier? thanks.
Some great points, but I couldn't see how what you were cutting as your hands were in the way. Difficult, when you're the only one filming, I know.
Sorry about that
'Not sure how others get around that problem. Thanks for the tips & all the best! ☺@@orchidswithwarren6839 ☺☺
No worries; some great advice & thanks for posting. ☺@@orchidswithwarren6839
Amazing video! The best repotting video seen so far for cymbidium orchids. Thankyou for making this video and sharing.

Hi Warren, I’d love to buy some of your orchids. Are you in SE Queensland? How could I contact you? Don’t quite know the protocol. Hoping to hear from you if possible.
Thanks for sharing
Enjoyed the video Warren. Could you let me know your cymbidium potting mix?
Sorry for late reply but I have another video that explains my mix.

Beautiful plant, so many racemes, so many big bright flowers.
The right planting medium will make the cymbidium orchid thrive, thank you for sharing😃😃
Thank you.
Do you water them after you repotted and put them in the shade or sun?
Water & put them back in their growing spot.
Beautiful set up, so neat tidy and clean 😊
Thankyou.
I wish he didn't have his back to the camera because I couldn't hear what he said about re- potting.
Tşkr ederim aradım soruya cevab buldum
