Beautiful collection, only cacti need definitly more direct sunlight.

Yes they are put in there during winter to protect from the heavy frosts we have.

Beautiful collection!! So other than the mounted ones, are most all of the Masdevallias in 100% NZ Sphagnum moss?

Some are in tree fern mulch, some in mini bark & the rest in Live Tasmanian sphag moss.

I use tree fern mulch or peat & pierlite for the bigger varieties & Tasmanian sphagnum moss for the smaller ones.

I've been thinking of getting my first masdevallia soon. Any suggestions for a good species/hybrid for a complete beginner with masdies?

Copper angel for a good easy hybrid & a coccinea or veitchiana for a good easy species.
