Curious to know the route you will be going for the rear suspension? I myself have a kdx450 I’m bringing back to life. I can not find much online for rebuilding the shock or the linkage mount bearings. Funny you got bike buzzard piston and rings as well. It’s the only availability I could find myself. Nice stuff but pricey. Just fired my beast up in the garage a day ago. One thing to note is the carburetor needle jet being worn. Mine was worn out causing it to run rich all the time at idle. Just a little pointer on your build to not over look the needle jet.

Thats insane how stuck those were. Had some bad ones but never like that, almost like wrong ones were installed.

I ride a 97 GT 500.

Late to the game here... I can't seem to get to the bottom left bolt on the cover... is there a specific tool that works best to get there?

you risk breaking fiber plates if you file your basket, the basket keeps the fibers in the center of the steels. EFM

Thanks. My kx250 has been great untill recently. The engine revs up real high on a cold start, then acts like its rich spitting oil out the back and fouling plugs. Glad i dont have to split the cases

I have a boulevard 800, it hates starting in the cold. Takes forever and is way too hard on the starter. When it finally does pop off it backfires until it gets warm. Is it worth me trying this myself or should I take it somewhere?? I don’t know much about carbs and it looks too tight to even know what I’m doing. Great video, I’d appreciate your insight.

Hey bro I ran Into a little problem I had dropped the cam bolt washer down the cam chain tunnel and I think I have to open the cylinder to take it out. Do you think I can reuse the base gasket I had on it I had ran it before for like 30 minutes i would say but it wasn’t timed right it was slightly off so it was making a weird noise so I timed it correctly and when I was putting the bolt on the washer fell and even a magnet can’t fish it out it’s really in there but I can see it from my phone camera

One tip when polishing aluminum with wire wheels/Dremel bits; always use brass brushes instead of steel. Not only Nia brass less aggressive and won’t bite into the aluminum as bad but steel brushes are more likely to deposit iron particles into the aluminum which will cause it to blacken or corrode much sooner. Bead blasting after, reduces this issue.

I took a 10mm wrench, cut the box end off, welded the box end to another cheap wrench so the box end stuck out more so i could get around the starter. I did bent the wrench a bit to make it easier also. Worked well. I left the bolt off

Whenever I go to tighten the top cam gear bolt it spins and throws itself out of time. Any ideas why it would be doing this. I’m currently trying to get to the bottom gear to see if it is stripped

Cheers Mate!! Just got my old Moto4 YHM250 back up and running after sitting for 6+mths. A combo chatgpt for troubleshooting and this video to understand how to clear the jets. Fuel pipe was blocked with sluge.

Im rebuilding a 01 yz250, but Im not rebuilding the bottom, only the top, cause I found out it seized from coolant leaking into head from missing gasket behind water pump, so lets just hope I dont have to do more when I grt this bike done, Ive pretty much mostly rebuilt or replaced everything

hey mate great video👍🏼 i recently just bought a 2017 wr450f and when the bike is in first gear and i start it (electric start) the bike wants to take off and starts moving forward. sometimes it wont even kick over if its in gear, i have to put it in neutral to start it. could this be a clutch issue or more transmission issue?
