this was a very weird analysis to watch. the guy with the darker pfp was very clearly set against arlo from the beginning and was intentionally interpreting what arlo was saying in the worst ways possible while refusing to even consider that arlo’s points had any merit. I’m appreciative of the other guy for holding his ground on the fact that Aonuma’s quote carried an inherent negative connotation while the darker pfp guy tried to spin it in a way that made arlo seem as unreasonable as he could. Good job not submitting to your co-star’s bias. I’m not saying Aonuma is a bad guy for wanting to innovate on the series, but I don’t see how arlo hoping for that innovation to include the return of that classic Zelda feel is an outlandish thing to want. Next time you do something similar to this, try to put your biases aside and don’t assume you know better than someone else because of the avatar they use. The amount of disrespect you gave arlo for using a puppet was off putting and honestly quite distasteful.

i would like to one day edit this video for you, with no cost, i was also impacted by this episode and chose to watch your video, there are still so many doubts in my head about why the andriod did an out of programed action, and if marshal was living a fantasy life, i know a few characters that wish to live a fictional life based of movies, the main antagonist for the film kickass is one example, he became a villain because he wanted to make his fantasy come true, so maybe Marshall wanted something similar, ill never know for sure, either way, thanks for making this video and talking about it

This was actually the first episode of Stand Alone Complex I saw. I knew going in that it was more of a faithful adaptation of Shirow's manga, but with new stories, different elements and the philosophical explorations of Oshii's film thrown in for good measure (hence the title "Stand Alone Complex" as it's an adaptation of the tone, mythos and world rather than the plot), and it delivered. "ANDROID AND I" was a genuinely good entry point as someone more familiar with the manga and Oshii film, and I have to say that after also watching Episode 1, SAC is a genuinely good balance of Cyberpunk Police Procedural, Farce, Crime Action Thriller and philosophical musings. Like, look at that finale: Was Marshall's android wife being genuine or was she just acting out a scene from a film to throw off Section Nine? (However, I still feel Mamoru Oshii's Ghost in the Shell to be the better GITS anime due to its captivating visuals, slow burn pace and thought provoking writing despite being nothing like the manga tone and character-wise, I should watch Innocence too one of these days)
