So much more helpful than just "focus on your breath"!
What you share kindly is the base of holisctic therapy and trauma/inner child healng. As a holistic therapist, we are providing traumatherapy wihin mindfulnes and self-compassion and release trauma work. Its a combination of different approaches which are really helpful. To allow the client to elaborate their own inner process conciously is the first step which takes also sometimes time. Unwind and transformation is nothing we push. Its more about holding the space for everything kindly, so that it becomes more "touchable" and obvious. Even we make our experience "of shifting and realeasing" in our nervoussystem. We need often much longer to integrate new and loving approaches and behaviour. I see it so often. Like an onien. layer by layer ... we set ourselves free and become who we have been beneath the covering shields of protecion and forgetting, what our truth is: LOVE

The way you explained this is 100% true to my experience. It was the subconscious part that made it difficult to get past--you can't heal what you're not aware of. I got to that core wound/pain through a combination of EMDR and meditation/active imagination. Becoming aware of that pain that I didn't know was there was how I was able to unwind the protective layers. I feel like a different person now--I'm no longer on anxiety meds, no longer in therapy, and life absolutely feels more slowed down, more free and I'm so much happier. For someone who has never experienced this process, I wonder if it would be easier to understand by sharing an example? What kind of pain do people unconsciously organize their lives around? Just a thought. I've followed your teaching for years now, so thank you, Cory for all you've shared.

Thank you. Responding over reacting sounds like a plan. I am working that muscle and it’s been so hard. Grew from childhood on fight or flight mode. Developed autoimmune issues to pull me back when I wouldn’t. Totally unaware for so long. But the journey back to find myself has been a blessing.
The cause of most negative patterns is Fear..the snake in the grass 😊❤
