Did he died....??
yes it's in the form of a spoof but almost every point is valid and well constructed.
That writer is a genius 😂
I guess late 2010s proved beyond any doubt that English is capable of sustaining demagoguery
Language is the breath of god.... I agree.
Hell yeah
"the secret of contentment is not to ask questions" dangit, that's why your answer made me sad
It's funny because it sounds legitimately academic
They predicted Google
So good, nails most "journalists" to the wall
Baaaaahh
Holy moly. Brilliant
Poor Marjorie
Number 29 bus going down the garboldischam rd!
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 that's me
Colbert?
Fry is a genius
One of my favorite movie scenes ever😂
It's inexplicable that "friendly milk has countermanded my trousers" has not become a more popular euphemism.
TELL THAT MEAN OCEAN
I never knew rabbits have an average weight :D
Best part of the movie!
David Letterman to a T
In another ten years this will not be funny at all, just the way things are.
Stephen Fry is better than Google. Google couldn't answer most of these questions.
“Flatulent-minded” is now one of my favorite insults
This reminds of library of Babel, whatever was and whatever will be can be spoken.
Growing up not knowing I was autistic, over half my interactions with my peers felt like this, where I was the writer and my peers were the host. They’d ask me questions not because they cared, but for their own entertainment because they thought I was weird and amusing. And when I’d call them out, they’d make that same face! That same frivolous, imbecilic, “knowing look” at each other like a couple of sensible folk dealing with a harmless oaf, as if they weren’t the cynical, disgustingly incurious- um… Wait, I forgot how the next part goes.
Jesus H, this. Except I'm VERY late diagnosed and now looking back on all those interactions I thought I was an actual part of. In fact I think there may have been an entire friendship group I was "in" that was based around my inclusion in the way you describe.
So true
Mmmm, chocolate hobnobs!
I've attended 10 funerals in 3 years. Me right now.
I yell this from time to time I get the same looks from other people that Todd did 😂🤷🏻♂️
“You met her on the number 29 bus on the Garboldisham Road, while being watched by two overly-excited commentators who happen to look rather like the two of us.”
Only clip of this without the lead up
Damn, Stephen is good here!
Fry looking like the love child of John Lennon and Bob Dylan
Strange to think that this is what my parents had to go through before the internet.
Your parents were lucky , our generation sucks
2:17 Monty python's "constitutional peasant" except it's fry and Laurie
Didn't know Stephen Fry appeared on Bill Maher. Cool.
Genius. And linguistically, lavish.
This was soooooo delightful
Round 2
Thanks for the honest feedback buddy
Wow this channel is old
Margerie!!
"There are six million people out there..." "Really? What do they want?" Utter genius. Those two need to do another series.
Todd that's good tell that mean ocean
What do you want to bet those names are all people Hugh actually went to school with?
tell that mean ocean
This character is based on an actual linguist. I saw the sketch back in middle school, and then shortly after my English teacher showed us a video, and there was a guy interviewed with the same bowl haircut and affect of speech. I've been trying to figure out who is is for years.
Where Jonathan Ross learnt his interviewing techniques.
Yup. I was wondering how come nobody in the comments mentioned Johnathan Ross 😆 or someone similarly cocky... like Mark Lamarr
2:37 is my favorite part. And also my reaction to this skit.
