Great topic!
Extremely interesting and comprehensive, thank you! ❤
⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
For a second I thought you were going to go on a religious tangent about how God made man & his brain blah blah blah. However I'm glad I stuck around, I enjoyed the video
Wow. As a psychology student, I am absolutely obsessed with the brain.
Would love to see this on someone on lsd or psilocybin
This is so cool
Thats how they made the commercial for the mayo clinic
Your right its absolutely beautiful. And the only reason I know that Lol!
❤❤❤
Thankyou so much ❤ that's what I am looking for ❤
True . I need that mental thought blender going on and on .
This whole research of subliminally priming someone (here with the girl and the cake) confuses me because in this case there seems to be a real effect on a conscious decision later on but everyone also always talks about how the "quickly showing a coke ad during a movie" marketing is a myth and doesn't actually work soo... how can one be true and the other not?
To my personal experience and what I see and other have studied, many times, if we do not change on time, we get ill for that same reason… For necessity. Needing to stop, to be open minded, to listen, to speak, to let go, whatever change is needed to bring balance thar is not taken care of, takes us to dis-ease. I guess it’s better to face the necessary transformation before falling ill. What is your experience?
@ Taylor, do you get an email to reach you?
Yeah you're right it's cool but please understand having a mentality like this can cause problems. Without peer review nothing is scientific; and having this kind of mentality can lead to an ego battle, that doesn't end with good science. But yes you're right, the feeling Ignaz Semmelweis must have had knowing he could save millions and no one knew would be crazy. Sadly he got ostracized so be weary my friend.
I have doubts that you are what you clam.
And it proves your hypothesis wrong. 😂
I don’t understand you guys don’t have more views. Such fantastic content. Super origin too. Must take so much time to prep for it
That's something a lot of people don't seem to understand or remember: Evolution doesn't make an organism evolve something new, it only influences pre-existing structures
It's amazing when I sing my ABC'swith my grand kids who would have thought but we all seem to end when we get to the letter Z ? Gee can't figure it out 🤥
No they can't
Yes, it’s been proven by Tali Sharot
source: i made it up
I personally have a published paper supporting this and there's dozens more. pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/34571532/
silly bullshit-no such evidence
Is there a difference between a male and female who has ADHD or ADD? Our grandaughter is not retainning information.
We are researching on learning behaviours in collaborative groups in authentic classrooms using conversational data in an Australian university. It would be great to hear your insights and potentially collaborate.
Just IMAGINING one is destitute financially can lower one's test scores for cognitive skill
Are you guys twins? Look very similar !
How you were able to distinguish your adhd from bpd? Taking into account rejection sensitivity and being affectionate and emotional. And also being diagnosed in the adulthood?
Thanks

I Salute you from middle east and may i ask which country you have been in middle east
nice lecture series! Would be good to know the relationships of leaderships, power and narcissism.
Thank you
Default mode network doesn't exist. It is a concept developed by behaviorists. According to behaviorists there is only input and output, if we don't output then there is nothing in our brain that we can talk about. Hence they developed this "default mode" idea, where the car keeps running,a noise necessary for doing nothing.
This is not true at all. The default mode network was identified and characterized by Mark Raichle from fMRI univariate analyses in the 90s (way after behaviorist influence). Since then there have been hundreds of investigations into the network topology and functional correlates of its activity.
what is the name Hassan's experiment you guys were talking about in the video?
My DMN : ugh I have a 9am lecture tomorrow. Ugh, I hate taking this bus, it's so windy. Ugh, I'm so tired of all of this crap, when will it end? If I had to describe it in one word it'd be "ughhh..."
Dont all adults feel that way?
Yes literally so much yes the thoughts never end
The issue is, no matter what I say to myself, I always feel like it is bullshit. I can tell myself "okay, today is the day I get back into neuroscience outside of doing the bare minimum to get my degree" but then I return home and all I want to do is to drink or play video games and don't even enjoy my research anymore. Is this stuff still effective, even if you feel it is untrue?
Nah- I use it mainly to disconnect - so people won’t bug me with their stupid stuff. Otherwise I’m good. Lol
Deserves more views 🙌
Thanks so much! Maybe its the thumbnail that needs updating... haha
So , yeah can you please elaborate
We actually have a whole episode about this coming out at the end of the month that I will do just that!
The way so-called "academics" approach these topics is always so disgusting and self serving. As if no one but you could possibly understand or help people. People have been taking psychedelics for decades without your input and they're doing just fine. What makes you so smug about your position on topics you admit you dont know anything about?
Academics are wary of overstating things or making claims that aren't empirically based. That is why, even though many people have had anecdotal success with psychedelics, they are still cautious. I do want to note that it wasn't academics themselves that prevented the study if psychedelics in the past. It was simply an artifact of an era where "recreational" drugs of any kind were demonized.
how average folk think-the elite know different
Easy to say
Change requires insight. I'm definitely not perfect with implementing this but at least I know what I can work on.
I’ve been thinking on this the past four years. I appreciate you connecting it. We are CEOs. But with 40 trillion residents, I’m more like a President. I hold rallies (ooh, gallbladder pain!). I have useless arguments that get us nowhere in the capital (default mode network). Mobs take over (cancer). Police protect and some are bad actors and go over the line (immune system & autoimmune conditions). USPS drops Hello Fresh for meals and nutrients (bloodstream). I drop off cruciferous vegetables these days and I think my people (cells) are better for it. I know I am as a whole country (body/consciousness).
Thank you! Great information! I’m here after watching lots on default mode network. I had the idea yesterday: would humanity be better off if it knew to contain DMN? Should I teach this to my children? I’m thinking so. I’m a happier person since learning to quiet thought. DMN is like a bitcoin miner on a computer that kicks on in screen saver mode.
I'm so glad that you enjoyed it! I think the world would definitely be better off if more people understood how this all works. I think the key though is learning to like you said "contain" it and not to restrain it. The DMN is definitely not the bad guy and it is really helpful for things like creativity and self reflection. It's when it is given free rein that it gets out of control and can get you stuck in those ruminative loops. It is definitely something I am teaching my children!
