I have been stuck on a B all year and have been working hard and doing all exam questions
is this in all your subjects? what is it in particular that you struggle with? you have to find your flaws
How do you get over plateauing at a B in maths
thank you smm for fulfilling my request Henry!♥

Awesome video Henry. How do you recommend finding the scheme of work for a subject?
thank you! ask your teacher 👍

Hello I would really appreciate it if you make a video about college interviews. I have my mock interview today btw
hey, do you want to email me your questions around that? I'm not sure I'll have time to make a video for it
@HenryBrandRevision I'm sorry what's your email?
Can you do some videos on Politics? Know so much knowledge but don't know essay structure and been struggling with analysis since GCSE
hello henry brands
hello
Can you please make videos about how to get a A star in politics?
@@lilka2703 ua-cam.com/video/3N8CviLd2Uc/v-deo.htmlsi=PZH_YVFRc901gJ8k done :)
I'm stupid and hard working. Is there anything I can do? 🤣
What counts as proper revision? Is 2 hrs of revision a day enough?
yeah for sure. proper revision depends on how you're revising, not the amount of time you spend revising. what are you doing currently?
just thought id ask are you planning on doing a ppe at oxford??
I am not. i'm going to do history & politics at uni 👍
did you take a year out, or are you at uni now? if youre reapplying what are you reapplying for? :)
I did take a year out, but I didn't reapply. I didn't actually apply in year 13, I applied this year. I applied to do history & politics!
what course would you like to do at uni !
history and politics, hbu?
ty, am in year 11, these vids are really really useful.
no worries, i'm glad i could help
How often should I be doing an essay in history when aiming for an A* (in year 12 btw)
once every two weeks y12 and once a week year 13 👍
@ ok thanks
This video is so helpful as I am in year 12 doing alevel history. Thank you very much
Glad it was helpful!
Very courageous video, Henry! You ran into a Perfect Storm when you took your A-levels.
thank you!
Crying about a B?
I’d moan about a B and so would most other people, just because you’re a *bit* academically slow doesn’t mean u need to cry online. Instead of crying on UA-cam maybe revise a bit more and you’ll get that D grade you want so bad!
'failure' getting a B... Yeah complete
Different people have different expectations and abilities
it was a personal failure to me because I was aiming for an A* 👍nothing wrong with a B
is it too late to start seriously revising now?
no, not at all
Love these videos 💙
thanks!
Mate tbh I am not very smart. I need to get 5 5's at my school to stay on and do 6th form. In the mocs I got exactly 5 5s and am now really stressed. This video helped allot thankyou
getting 5 5s now is good you should be happy with that. you have 4 more months to go, i would be really suprised if you got worse in that time. let me know if i can help you in any way 👍
@HenryBrandRevision Thankyou very much for your videos and good luck at University (I'm guessing thats were u'r at/going
yo how can i improve english language and lit? im getting 6 but i need 7 or above to get into 6th form 😢
What are you studying at uni?
history and politics
@HenryBrandRevision Cool, I'm thinking of studying that as well. What Uni are you at?
Dawg it’s not that deep😭😭🙏🙏
Don't watch then
A 'B' is by far a fail, this is incredibly insulting to those who got Bs and put in effort and are proud of their grades
It was a personal failure to me since I was aiming for an A*. Obviously a B is still a good grade 👍
grow up snow flake. Try harder if ur insulted.
@HenryBrandRevision Your thumbnail has made it seem like you are considering a 'B' to be a fail. Also, you shouldnt be so hard on yourself, as its obviously a good grade!
@@thomascox8412 Not everyone is the same and when high-achieving students set a goal of an A*, getting a B is quite a disappointment for them personally.
@ ah i see what you’re saying. what i meant was that it was a failure for me personally, but thank you! i defo feel better about it now
I am doing 2 A-level essay based subjects and BTEC course. I have been encouraged to use anki and make flashcards but i am reluctant to do so. I was wondering if their were any alternatives to making flashcards.
Aaaaand the world keeps spinning
very true
The thumbnail says confronting failure, but a B is not a fail
It is when you've set yourself a target of A star
yeah, it was a personal failure to me. obviously a B is still a good grade 👍
This was such a well structured video and very informative! I totally resonate with you on the point about knowing so much that you just want to get it all down, and how that can lead to a disregard of analysis which is just as important, so I will keep this in mind when approaching my exams!! Thank you for this ! <3
Hi Henry, I’ve been watching from the lead up to GCSEs last year and ended up getting mostly 7/8s and a few 9s however the jump to a levels has caught me by surprise and I feel like I’m falling behind mainly in mainly economics and history do you have any tips on how I could catch up? amazing content btw
hello do you have any tips for coursework? (edexcel)
yeah: - do it as early as you can. just get it done, don’t leave it late - use lots of sources both primary and secondary - use interpretations from loads of different sources. i had over 10 books i think in mine - try get feedback from your teacher, and look for high mark answers online hope that helps!
Been years since I've done my A-Levels so a bit strange I've been recommended this but... in response to the video, I wouldn't reflect on it too much, it was probably exam underperformance but could've just been the examiner - When it comes to humanities subjects, examiners are very inconsistent! You can get your work marked by x amount of teachers but really and truly the difference between an A or an A* is decided by them. That isn't to say that you shouldn't study hard, there is such thing as objectively good work but there is some element of uncertainty with it. For example, I did 3 STEM subjects and a humanities subject, History. When it came to exam day I was blind sided, there was a question I didn't revise for because it came up on last year's paper, didn't know the dates of events, names of key events or people, so I left that exam thinking I got a D... Ended up getting a much better grade (didn't make a difference on uni selection regardless, uni only wanted my stem grades for my course) and I genuinely believe it's either the examiner messing up or subjective marking, and I had a similar experience with another essay subject at GCSE. Moral is that when it comes to humanities, its not like sciences or maths - there is no definitive answer. All you can really do is learn structures, practice writing every single possible question that could come up (there's only a limited amount really), and hope for the best.
