guys don't ask stupid questions he's already answered
Can you rank your top effective and productive revision methods (from best to worst) and explain why you chose each rank?
Yes. I'm hoping to do a video on that at some point. Quickly, though:
1. Practice questions (nothing beats practice)
2. Seneca learning (I love it as helps you get a great understanding)
3. Flashcards (great for learning key information)
That would probs be my top 3 :)
@HenryBrandRevision Thank you!
When relearning content is this an efficient approach?
1. Watch a video (eg freesciencelessons)
2.Make summarized concise notes
(double check w spec)
3.Exam questions
4.Making flashcards
personally, I would skip part 2. I never wrote notes, I think they're inefficient and flashcards kind of replace the need for notes. Alternatively, seneca is kind of like note taking but much better and more effective. Other than that, really good.
@N1ki_glows hi there! pls can u explain why u make flashcards after exam questions?
@badminton8560i do it to consolidate knowledge and test myself again !
What's the best way to learn new content alone for geography?Would you recommend reading the textbook ( some people say it has too much information), or would you recommend going straight to revision notes and flashcards?
Thank you so much, your help is much appreciated!
@@Cav-z1y I meant reading more information from the textbook to understand the topic better , because you don't want to "underlearn" that information by going straight to revision notes, where you're just memorising condensed information that you do not actually understand.
defo don't read the textbook. try seneca - have you heard of it before?
how to prevent burnout and if you are currently burnt out what do you need to do? (exams are in 3/4months)
How to not get bored whilst revising and how to motivate yourself
This was my response to a subscriber who asked how to make revision more fun:
Studying for fun is difficult. Often it just isn't particularly interesting. I have a couple pieces of advice, though:
1. Find fun in the results: While revision may not have always been fun, getting top grades definitely was.
2. Become interested in your subjects: I would read magazines on science, watch documentaries on history and read famous books for english literature. If you can try to find an interest in a subject, it instantly becomes more fun.
3. Make your revision methods more fun: You could involve other people, try to watch more documentaries or revise in different places to change things up.
I hope that was helpful!
Kind regards,
Henry
Thank you, this was definitely helpful :)
Do you by chance have your gcse essays emailed by your ex school’s exam officer by chance? Or any top level essays you can show us to give us an idea of what we need to do?
How can I maximise my flashcard use with Active Recall and Spaced repetition. Can you make a video going over the forgetting curve and how long we should space out our flashcard usage. And also a video on what to do after using Seneca for understanding.
My GCSE planner really helps reflect how I used spaced repetition and active recall with seneca and other topics so maybe consider purchasing that.
For flashcards, I will be doing a video on those soon.
After seneca, you repeat the topic again in a few weeks/ months time. Keep going over them
How much time should you spend to revise for Year 11 GCSEs on schooldays and weekends? What do you suggest we should do in the revision sessions for subjects like Maths, English, Sciences?
Good question, you'll see how much I was revising and what I was revising by buying my revision planner: www.henrybrandrevision.com/product-page/grade-9-gcse-planner
To answer your question though:
Probably around 2-3 hours weekdays and 3-6 hours weekends.
Maths: practice questions and UA-cam videos
English: practice, reading and UA-cam
Science: seneca, flashcards and practice
I've done videos on how to get a 9 for all of those subjects so make sure to check them out too. Hope that helps :)
@HenryBrandRevision Thank you so much!
I often find myself sitting down to do work and i’m baffled in what to do. I got the planner you recommended, but i haven’t used it yet, because i don’t know how far ahead i should plan. So do
you plan far ahead once in a while or do you plan often.
I usually roughly plan out my week on a Sunday - so I look to the week ahead. then, if I ever need to I will plan out a bit more in advance.
for example, if I did a seneca course on biology topic 1 this week, I would put that course in my diary around 3 weeks from now so I will know I need to repeat it
I plan to make a video soon explaining how to start revision
Hello @HenryBrandRevision im in year 11 ,theres 4 and a half months left and i do not even have a foundation set of knowledge for all of my subjects except Maths but when i was younger and currently i still do have a predicted grade set of all 7s ,8s and 9s but im failing miserably in school with no focus at all,my parents send me to tuiton every week and spend over £1000 a month and im stressed out what would you suggest me to do.and i want to get into top grammar schools here in south london.Sure im capable but what would you suggest.
would you say right now is too late to start transferring notes into revision materials such as flash cards and things like that? if not, how would you recommend turning these notes into more active recall methods, and what is the fastest way to do it, and which revision method would you recommend? is there anyway to do things such as ai flash cards?
another question is, how do you separate yourself from being a grade 7 student to being a grade 8/9 student? with this long left, what would you recommend?
It's defo not too late to transfer some notes to flashcards. Focus on what you don't know, though - so avoid making flashcards on stuff you know really well.
In terms of turning a 7 into an 8 or 9, a lot of the time it is just carrying on with what you're doing. In science, for example, I found that getting to a 9 simply meant more practice and understanding.
For some subjects, though, you have to begin to go above and beyond. In a lot of subjects I would google 'grade 9 questions' and have a look at those. Keep practicing and keep watching my videos which will help in more detail 👍
@HenryBrandRevision thank you very much!
currently, i have about 2 drawers full of revision resources, but would you say it is essential to have tonnes and tonnes of revision resources, or can you still achieve high grades without that same level. i just feel like sometimes it’s a waste of time turning everything into revision resources but i wanted to get your opinion on that
@@josh-xq100 for my A-levels I had around 9 folders of notes in total. in my exam season I picked up not a single one of those.
at the end of the day, you take only your brain into an exam hall.
I agree with you - try to digitalise when you can and definitely cut down on too many resources.
I know this is a bit of a unique question but what’s the best way to get to school on time? If your someone who struggled with organisation, probably ADHD, what’s the best way to get through your self care routine without too much hassle in the mornings? Also how do i maintain motivation and drive to work during school in this upcoming term? Thank you!
I would need to know more about how far away from school you live, when you wake up etc. but if you're consistently late - chances are you aren't giving yourself enough time in the morning to wake up? I was often late in year 11 too, but eventually I realised I had to get into a good routine before exams because you really can't be late for those.
To maintain motivation, keep thinking about GCSE results day. Keep thinking about how you want to feel when you open those grades.
Ive done flashcards for politics by defining the term, key arguments, key examples and then doing a mini essay plan on the flashcard is that useful is there anything that im missing? I also am planning on using these flashcards to help me write out essays before i do it without notes.
how do i remember year 10 content for final GCSEs exams in year 11... especially for sciences.
Just keep going over the content you learnt. For example, do a seneca course on your year 10 topics. It will come back to you surprisingly fast, trust me.
I basically had to relearn all of the year 10 content for science tbh
how do you do spaced repetition? i have some flashcards but i'm not sure how often i should be going through them. many thanks!
I made this video with your question in mind: ua-cam.com/video/iyswvcC-3sI/v-deo.htmlsi=1PaJ7V4rSouT3jYe
How did you revise quotes for english lit and how did u make sure they fit all possible themes/questions? Also i am currently working at a grade 8 level in german - do you think it would be possible to push it up to a 9 for the real exam - do you have any grammar websites/tips? Do you have any coding resources/recommendations? Thanks for the videos btw! 😄
No worries!
I tried to pick versatile quotes so ones that fit quite a lot. I made sure I learnt loads of quotes too. Flashcards and practice questions helped me learn them the most. Also, try testing yourself with your friends that was always fun too.
You can defo go up to a 9 in the exam for sure. Sadly, I didn't take a language so I don't have much advice there. It sounds like you're doing well though so trust the process there.
For coding, google 'GCSE coding challenges' and see what comes up. Make sure to install a coding language like python at home for you to practice with.
Hope that helps!
@HenryBrandRevisionthanks!
How to revise? Having my igcses this may and whenever I want to study, am stuck without knowing where to start and how to cover everything. What resources could I use to make flashcards now or is there a more efficient approach, specially as an edexcel igcse student! Any specific tips to secure a 9 in maths n sciences, with bio having the harshest mark schemes!!
I am going to do a video detailing how to start revision soon.
in short tho, find your weakest topics and subject areas and try doing seneca topics on them.
flashcards would be good - i made mine from cgp textbooks a lot.
i've done videos on science and maths so check them out :)
How would you revise a level maths step by step
how do you memorise flashcards faster like something more effective than active recall
how do u revise a level history aliong with my lessons because ill have a lesson and just forget everything a few days after. do i make notes or flashcards along the way? how do i make notes
What advice would you say for someone that isn't good at the programming part of CS?
I am doing 2 A-level essay based subjects and BTEC course. I have been encouraged to use anki and make flashcards but i am reluctant to do so. I was wondering if their were any alternatives to making flashcards.
Can u please make a video on how u made your microsoft excel spreadsheet during your gcse? btw your vids are very inspiring and motivating Thankyou!
yes, I will try and do this soon 👍👍
@HenryBrandRevision tysm!
how'd you study for english lit? did you make flashcards or just write essays? in your opinion whats the best way to study for english? Also did you make your own flashcards for other subjects or used pre-made flashcards?
try this: ua-cam.com/video/r8H1tAQiWEo/v-deo.htmlsi=Bg_YK5oz1zq8UWSH
I made my own flashcards 👍
Do u think u can make a video on flashcards and how to use them effectively? is it too late to start making them now as a gcse student?
Is this a good idea for revision? My mocks end on 23rd January so I’ll start focusing on gcses then. I plan to watch all videos for 1 topic a day and then take a lil break and do exam questions on it. I’ll do 1 topic a day. Once I’m done with all topics I’ll make a note of those I struggled with go back to those videos and blurt put the information. Then, I’ll do past papers for all topics (1 a day prolly) aiming for all 9s any advice appreciated
What is the most effective way to revise languages e.g.(Arabic,french and etc)
How do you use the calendar for revision because youve suggested using it but could you go into more detail
also is it worth using apps like anki over physical flashcards
I’m in the last stretch of Year 13 and I’m struggling with math revision. Textbook questions are generally easy but when I segue into past paper questions I get stuck and demotivated. Any tips on how to bridge the gap between textbook and past paper questions, and how to generally approach math exams and tests.
I was in your shoes too, so make sure not to give up faith here. I actually had the exact problems you did.
The number one thing I did which I knew would help is LOADS of maths papers. I was doing like 2-3 a week by the time the exams came around. You need as much practice as you can get.
Once you've completed and marked them (often I would split doing the paper into 2 1 hour sessions), record your mark. Then, find a past paper walkthrough on UA-cam. For the questions you got wrong, watch someone (Mr Astbury maths, for example) go through how to do those questions. I found seeing someone go through questions super useful.
You could also ask your teacher for specific question help.
The key here, as with all of maths really, is a LOT of practice. Good luck and I hope that helps!
@ Thanks! I will aim to practice as much as possible ;))
How much revision should I be doing at this point in year 12? And what kind of things?
good question. I would say 1-3 hours a day of revision would be really impressive.
In terms of what kind of things: practice questions, recapping past content, making flashcards, reading and being interested in your subject
for english lit how do you plan 30 mark essays for the novels and plays?
Yes
I would do something like:
Intro - my overall thoughts
P1 - point 1 and comments, quotes and analysis
P2 - repeat
P3 - "
P4 - "
Conclusion
Add your points into those 👍
for further maths gcse i need to know formula how do i learn them - by flashcards or by doing questions that use them
@beniscfacts both 👍
Currently in year 12, I'm doing biology, chemistry and psychology. Do you have any revision techniques I could use? I'm struggling with revision!
heyy i'm also in year 12 doing the same subjects as you, and i'm currently on As in each of them, here's what i do:
biology and chemistry: i usually make online flashcards of the content after each lesson in college, using the cgp revision guide and the powerpoints that my teachers teach with. when it comes to revision, i go over these flashcards in manageable chunks until i remember most of the content, then i do practice questions on those topics using physics and maths tutor, and i sometimes make flashcards of the questions that i got wrong that i think are important to know (mark schemes for bio can be so specific so it's good to get to know them and what they're actually asking for, also chem questions are very repetitive so the more practice questions you do, the better). also, for any content i'm struggling to understand, i watch miss estruch or freesciencelessons for biology and freesciencelessons for chemistry
psychology: i make flashcards of the studies and key terms for a topic while we're learning them and then go over these when revising. i also try to make detailed summary sheets for each lesson that we do on my ipad so that when revising, i can use them to try and blurt the content and add anything i missed in a different colour, then just repeating this until i remember most of the content. also doing practice questions on physics and maths tutor is really useful to get to know the mark scheme and what it's looking for :)
@@zuzia28 Thank you for your advice, I did this exact same technique of making flashcards on Anki for bio and chem but when I was a done making them and it was time to go over and learn them I would just get bored and nothing would go in my head so now for bio and chemistry, I'm just making notes by watch FSL and doing exam questions and for psychology I'm making flashcards for each topic and going over them before an end of topic test. For some reason the flashcards just don't work for me in science. I think doing as many exam questions as you can matters the most for A level. How long do you spend revising a topic in biology or do you revise sub topics? I know this is random but are you planning on studying medicine/dentistry??
@Rah.ima123 yeahh that's fair enough tbh, i find that i get bored of psych flashcards very easily rather than science so it's the other way round for me haha, exam questions are definitely also important though like you're saying!! when making my bio flashcards, i split them up into subtopics and then when revising i go through each subtopic and usually get through the whole topic in like an hour or two, and yes i'm planning on going into med :) how about you?
@@zuzia28 splitting them topic into subtopics definitely works!!! I'm planning on applying to med school too :) When do you think is the best time to start revising for the UCAT?? Google is saying 6 months and people are saying 6-8 weeks, who do I listen to?? 😭
@Rah.ima123 i'm probably gonna go for 8 just because i like to start revision early to make sure i have enough time for everything haha, also i'm going on holiday for 2 weeks in july so i probably won't be doing as much revision then :)
when going through flashcards do u mix up all your subjects flashcards and then arrange them into daily weekly and monthly ?
yes
How do i revise for computing
How to get a grade 5 in gsce edexcel maths?
1) when planning your revision do you do it for each week or month?
2)Is it too late to make flashcards?
3) Please be honest would you say start revising now is too late or as not as effective I just want to know
1) focusing on each week, but sometimes for certain topics I would plan them in advance
2) no!
3) definitely not too late but soon will be too late for the top grades imo (maybe like late Feb)
Could you write your best advice and tips for a year 12 please
I will do a video on this soon, but here is some advice:
- make revision materials
- revise ahead of what you're learning in class
- make sure you understand all of what you're doing
- practice questions
How do you revise for rs and english lit poetry at gcse level?
overall how did u manage stress because i have mocks when I go back to school and although I am doing 5-6 hrs a day sometimes a lil bit more, I always feel I am not doing enough, and when I am not revising I feel insanely stressed. Just some advice how to manage this would be helpful
is it best to just do practice questions and learn from your mistakes and go over any smaller topics you get wrong
@beniscfacts yeah that’s a very good way of revising - make sure you roughly cover everything tho and then yeah focus on the weaknesses that come up in tests for sure
hi i find writing in re, history, English difficult how can i improve my language, structure and the style of writing
good question.
- keep practicing questions and handing them in, over time it will improve
- look at high mark answers and see what they do that you don't, try and adapt to become like them
- ask your teacher for direct help
hope that helps!
How do I balance revision with 8 subjects in a week where the English language is the weakest and I revise it in the morning, and still get all 9's btw after school I only have like 1 hour and 30 min due to an upgrade from Tuesday to Thursday.
I did allright in my first mocks, I got 5 9s, 4 8s and 1 7, I got the 7 in English Literature. Do you have any tips for revising for english literature especially paper 1. I do AQA by the way.
hey henry! i'm doing my gcses in a few months and i'm not sure how to go over old topics especially for science, am i supposed to watch videos on them or just do past papers? its a lot of content and i don't think i'll have time to learn everything like its brand new again. how can i go over all of them the most effective way to know that i covered everything?
Hello Henry how do you think you can improve Modern Foreign Languages (MFL), I'm currently doing Spanish and I'm currently working on a 7/ A and I want to get a 9/ A**, so my weakest things are my listening and reading and strongest in Writing and speaking, and so what is best revision technique for MFL in your opinion? Thanks!!!
for english do you just practice writing essays cause I always know the stuff it is just structure and the way I write that loses me marks
Should I be making flashcards for topics that I haven't learnt yet in class
that would be helpful, yes
Hey henry currently at 4s and 5s in all my subjects im in yr11 and my last mock is in a month and i really want all 9s on it. But theirs alot of subjects to do and i feel like i wasted my time focusing only on maths to get it to a grade 5 i also think i dont have enough time Any tips to help me??
Hey, there's defo time to improve your grades a lot with hard work.
For maths, try Corbett maths 5 a day worksheets. Do these daily and see where you went wrong and need to improve. Over time your this will improve your maths while not taking loads of time.
Keep watching my videos as they will detail how to revise and where to start and stuff.
I hope that helps, let me know if you have any further questions
@HenryBrandRevision thanks I do computing as well and I have a 5 in paper 1 and grade 3 in paper 2. And I really hate paper 2 cause of programming and I don't understand it. What do u recommend I should do to revise this? as I really struggle
is a retrospective timetable really necessary? takes too long to make, plus you can just check the topics in your textbook you needa do
I wouldn't say it's necessary, no. do what works for you
how did you manage a day before exams because I have mocks and I am really stressed out everyday, also do you have any tips for gcse physics and geography as they are my worst subjects
seneca, practice and YT for phy and geog will help you lots. more videos to come on those.
I think as mocks progress you should get more used to them hopefully
Where can i find flashcards for Aqa Combined science flashcards that cover everything in the specification?
gizmo!! quizlet as well and maybe anki as well but i don't use it
yeah I would agree with the reply here
How much revision should i be doing daily as an A level student hoping to get an A*A*A? and what did you find the most effective revision method?
For me for A-levels, one of the most effective revision methods was to study ahead a little. I would find what we would be learning in future lessons and revise a couple hours a week for that.
Practice questions also, marked by teachers. Don't make the mistake I did in history tho where I was always marked A*s, but in the actual exam got a B because I got complacent.
I would say this:
Year 1 - 2-3 hours a day
Year 2 - 3-5 hours a day
That is a very rough approximation, though
How often should I be doing an essay in history when aiming for an A* (in year 12 btw)
once every two weeks y12 and once a week year 13 👍
@ ok thanks
How exactly did you create grade 9 analysis flashcards for lit
I didn't make grade 9 analysis flashcards. I just flashcarded the quotes and then did lots of practice questions
can i do past papers then use flashcards for the questions i got wrong and the ones that didnt come up? is that good?
yes, that's what I would reccomend
what is the best way to start revising for history and to get a grade 9 are creating flashcards worth it or should i try to understand the content and instead answer past papers
I would do all 3 of those! It's an old video but this may help: ua-cam.com/video/MAMMQx97cXo/v-deo.htmlsi=uqtGqITJlkQz3-Up
Do you think its worth making flashcards for science this late or is it better to do seneca?
both - but seneca if you had to pick one
@ thanks!
How did you make your flashcards for history? It’s the one subject no matter what I do I can’t find an efficient revision method for. Mindmaps don’t work for me and I work best with flashcards. I’ve tried making flashcards from the textbook but I end up making way too many I just don’t know how to condense them down and I’m scared of missing stuff lol
I would focus on the key dates and key facts. Try to use information that comes up regularly. If in doubt, make lots of flashcards. Better to have more than less especially if you're aiming for a high grade.
If it helps, here were my GCSE history flashcards - have a look: quizlet.com/user/BrandHenry/folders/history-gcse?i=1c6oki&x=1xqt
Thank you :)
is it too late to still be making revision resources for gcse?
@@lilyphillips9458 not at all
Do you have any advice for making A-Level history flashcards? I never know how much detail to include and everything :,)
Here were my A-level history flashcards, have a look: quizlet.com/user/BrandHenry/folders/history-a-level?i=1c6oki&x=1xqt
The more practice questions you do, the more you work out what level of detail and facts you need to know
What do you think the most effective revision method is?
the most effective is probably to use a lot of different methods. If i had to give one though I would say: practice questions
How do you keep on top of time Management, I am doing 12 gcse's, 5 music lessons and so much more, 8 get 2 hours a day if that for studying what is your advice
Firstly, you must prioritise your subjects. You can afford to spend less time on the subjects you are best at. E.g. I spent not too much time revising computer science bc I was already quite good at it. This will save some time.
Then, you have to accept that some sacrifices will have to be made when exams come around. I had to stop seeing my friends as much, and cut my screentime dramatically. Try to consider what else you can take off your schedule as GCSEs must come first.
Hope that helps :)
how to make a revision timetable for school days when we are tired and unmotivated after school? I finish at 4 so never can find the time to revise!
Try to revise weekends, and be kind on yourself. Would be better to relax some days and do more work on the weekends.
I prefer planners to revision timetables because they give you more flexibility too.
Make sure your sleep is good and consistent.
how much sleep did you get in your y11, how much would you recommend and have you got any general sleeping tips
I got lots of sleep in y11 mostly. what I did was put away my phone at around 9pm at night, so past this time I didn't look at any screens. I then would read for a while and chill and go to sleep around 10, waking up at 7. This meant I had loads of time for me to sleep and relax in.
Getting up at exactly the same time every day was super helpful for me too.
I would say don't do much at night and try to relax. really do prioritise sleep imo
ok thank you !! my new years resolution is to now put my phone away at 9 🫣🫣
@itssimplylolaASMR i love that, good luck!!
When doing space repetition, how many flashcards do you recommend , and how often? Say 25 flashcards every months, would I do another 25 after 3 months, that kinda thing ? I'm still unclear on spaced repetition regarding flashcards NGL ( A-Level student!)
Sorry if I've already asked this , I have the worst memory lol
whats the optimum amount of revision that a y12 student should do with 3 a levels
I would say around 1-2 hours on a weekday, and 2-4 on a weekend (with maybe the other weekend day off). this is an average, but tbh you should be revising and working hard in year 12 as it will pay off in year 13
@HenryBrandRevision thank u🙏
how do u revise for history?! and exam tech as well as how to revise languages
try this old video I made: ua-cam.com/video/MAMMQx97cXo/v-deo.htmlsi=7HAa8rOg-GHpDh8w
how are u supposed to structure your revsion in general, as well as between now and may/june (for gcse) bc i told myself i was going to start revising over the christmas holiday but i just kept on procrastinating bc i think i was overwhelmed with the amount of stuff to revise, so i just didn't know where to start my revision😭
i did quite a bit of revision over christmas holidays bc i have mocks in 2 weeks but i usually aimed for 2/3 hours a day but tbh with you most of the time was spent making flashcards, mindmaps etc and a few exam papers
How can I use feedback from essays to improve?
well, whatever the feedback says just make sure to include in your next essay.
for example if your teacher said to analyse more: focus more on that topic and maybe google ‘ how to improve analysis’
Advice for when you lack motivation?
Whenever I lacked motivation, I would think about results day and how I wanted to feel when I opened my results
how to stop forgetting what i have already learned
keep going over that information. Once you have learnt something, make a note in your planner to go over it again in a couple weeks
How should you revise for gcse english language efficiently?
good question - I plan to do a video on that soon.
In short, lots of practice
is the cognito website better to use than seneca to revise sciences?
personally, I preferred seneca but both are good
If I make flashcards for most subjects by the end of Jan and start learning them would I get high grades
for sure, but make sure to combine that with other revision techniques
@HenryBrandRevision what other revision techniques should I use
if i got mainly 5s and 6s in my December mocks can i still get all 9s or atleast 7s and above
100%

English. Do I have to use flash cards by memorising quotes?
you don’t have to. you could keep testing yourself with friends or repeating them to yourself. flashcards would be my fave tho
how can u start revising gcse maths from January to get a grade 9
definitely
i was wondering if you did edexcel Gcse history could you do a video going through the structurer of each question on paper 1 and 2 or do you have notes or a document if not no problem thanks.
I did do edexcel. I found this UA-cam channel useful: www.youtube.com/@Alonglongtimeago/videos
Henry how u been. I have just two questions. Is it enough to just do flashcards and practice questions watching videos and reading text books to get 9s in my GCSE exam. My next question is how do i revise my flashcards. Thanks and happy new year
I'm good thanks, hbu?
1. reading text books is very ineffective. overall, though, that would get you great grades but possibly not quite all 9s. seneca instead of textbooks could work.
2. I will do a video on that soon 👍
Do you have any good techniques and advice for Maths GCSE and Science GCSE? (Especially physics)
Or What websites or UA-cam channel or apps should I visit?
@ScottEspinosa-m8u for science freesciencelessons and cognito are rlly good
science: ua-cam.com/video/CBaR2Ycc4ac/v-deo.htmlsi=TuPCR8lRAx9iKbzY

I lay out my advice there for both :)
My grade in English is like a 4 right now. I’m in year 10, my GCSE’s are in year 11. I don’t know how to improve those grades, apart from reading, is there any other way I can improve my English subject to a grade 8 or 9?
have a look at this: ua-cam.com/video/r8H1tAQiWEo/v-deo.htmlsi=TYSytxLvT3nwfURd (english lit)
I plan to do a video on language too.
In short, practice essays will probably be the best thing you can do to improve rn
Thank you
How do i stop stressing about how i will be like in my real exam
i would say with a lot of practice and knowing you’re well prepared, your stress will go down
it’s natural to be stressed tho a bit 👍
I'm doing a level media studies and BTEC Health and social care diploma so I have an exam the following Friday. I'm doing every single past paper but I'm not sure how to balance media as I'm recently completed my mocks but I'm not sure when to start again?
Could you email me your question in more detail as I don't fully understand it : henry@brand.uk.net. Thanks!
@HenryBrandRevision I'm doing a level media studies and btec health and social care. 3 a levels. However, I find it difficult to balance my time in these two subjects and I'm a bit behind on media so I'm unsure how to catch up again ?
how do you stay motivated when revising

In short, I kept thinking about results day and how I wanted to feel then
I wanted to ask what did you exactly do to understand the content in A Level Maths as there are some topics where the questions in the video(e.g TL Maths,Zeeshan Zamurred ,TGMT) are easy but my mind goes blank when answering some exam questions.
good question. firstly, have you seen my video on how to get an A* in A-level maths?
I defo found that exam questions were often much harder than the youtube questions. My main advice would be then just to practice exam questions and watch walkthroughs for exam papers - Mr Astburt maths for example.
Practice really is the best in maths
What is the best chemistry revision technique as i find it the hardest
GCSE or A-level?
GCSE
How difficult do you think it would be to do A level maths in 1 year, im currently in year 13 and want to do a gap year to do a level maths, do you think it would be realistic to be able to get an A or A* doing the course in just 1 year?
If you were only focusing on maths in that year, I think it would be challenging but definitely possible.
I took further maths in year 12 and what that meant was we did all of A-level maths in 1 year, so it was doable
I did past papers for my November mocks and got mostly 8s and 9s for the subjects I seriously revised. Will past papers work just as well for the real thing?
Yes, but make sure not to get complacent. Do other revision as well
I do 3 essay subjects for my a levels (sociology, religious studies and history) I’m in year 12 do you have any advice/tips
I do. Firstly, keep watching my A-level and revision videos for help.
I would say essay plans are super helpful for essay subjects. Once you know how to write a good essay, you can start to plan out essays more as revision to save time. Google or ask your teacher for some potential questions.
Make sure you have examples of high mark essays. Your teacher may have those, but I think that let me down slightly in history (B) compared to politics (A*) where I did not have high quality example answers.
Keep practicing essays. By next year you should defo be doing at least one practice essay a week. They don't take too long but are great revision.
Hope that helps!
@ it does. Thanks!
is it better to revise one subject a day or short periods of all if your gcses in a couple of months??????
@Fatima-kn6sg i would say short periods. weekdays i would revise around 3 subjects a day and then weekends often i did a little bit of all of them
@HenryBrandRevision thanks for the advice
What to do if you get burnt out from studying too much😭
relax more!
What should I do if I'm like genuinely awful at one of my A-levels. Im doing chemistry and I've made flashcards and I do them every day so I think I understand the content then when I move onto Past Exam questions I'm getting like all of them wrong and Chemistry mark schemes are so useless so they don't help me understand anything half the time.
Firstly, don't give up. You are working hard which is really important
I would try some other revision methods. Have you seen A-level chemistry seneca? UA-cam past paper walkthroughs may be useful too
I havent revised at all ( im year 11) what do i do, how do i revise quickly?
focus on your weak areas - prioritise those.
keep watching my videos for advice
how to create the spreadsheets to track the subjects + sub topics? i know this might hurt your business but not al of us have a spare £30 just to buy a spreadsheet. Please make a tutorial!! xx been subscribed for ages now
no worries at all, I have always tried to keep things free where possible - the paid option is to save time for those who want it.
I am going to do a video on this soon!
what should I do if i can just never remember flash cards
i'll do a video on flashcards soon, but honestly you just need to keep practicing them and you will remember over time. how do you write your flashcards?
