'24 Pre-Ultraskate Q&A with Adam - Pantheon Hoku + Supersonic Setup
Heyo I made a kinda informal Q&A answering some questions I get frequently. I try to keep it pretty simple, low technical detail, but feel free to shoot me a comment and maybe I'll do a more nerdy technical vid!
Checkout the supersonic at pantheonboards.com , feel free to message me on instagram @blueridgeproject, I don't use facebook, it just autoposts there!

The Adrenalina Skate Marathons & The LDP Demigods
Переглядів 1,9 тис.8 місяців тому
History of the Adrenalina longboard / skateboard marathon series in 2011 and some of the other biggest races in the history of longboarding while it was at its peak, where there were $30,000 prize purses and some ungodly fast skaters such as Paul Kent, Kiefer Dixon, and Jeff Vyain. In my opinion, 1:30 is the bar to beat. Hallandale: ua-cam.com/video/YQaKMpHBjj8/v-deo.htmlsi=rX5JxZ_TjjmAVSNW ua-...
Basics of Longboard Pumping - How to Pump (LDP)

Learning to pump, AKA Long Distance Pumping or LDP, is crazy because you're trying to learn some magic thing based on people explaining sensations, I hope this more technical vid helps get you on the right track! Currently using a pantheon ember, and supersonic (which can do split angle or zero rear!) as my main demo boards in this video. Thing to note is you CAN pump any board but especially f...

Catching you up to speed with my editing back log of 1.5 yrs. This one is a little vloggy and a little less skatey, but I make these as much for myself to reflect on someday, as much as for everyone else to watch. It's been a busy time balancing skating, editing, and real life. But before I can make all my other videos I thought it was time to explain what even is bluerideproject the name, wher...

Winning Ultraskate, a 24 hour push - New Limits episode 2
Переглядів 4,8 тис.2 роки тому
Ultraskate is just a 24 hour race, while the training, and your life in the lead up to the race, is truly the biggest challenge. This year was a brutal race, 95 degree day, rain, humid hot nights. It was truly uncomfortable and subpar conditions, which made for great racing but maybe not breaking records. 24hourultraskate.com/ Adam - 280 miles Geran - 159 miles Sam - 108 miles This video was a ...

Full circle dude. We were doing this in the 70's. That's the only way we did it. It's not a new thing. It's been lost by the times. But some of us still do it

Oh yes! Not lost to time though. Its been handed down behind the scenes from generation to generation. The first LDP-ers were skaters from back in the day. Like Chris Yandall who probably first combined skating and endurance activity. He was an old pool skater from the 70s. James Peter's and his friends created long distance pumping using slalom techniques (he did slalom if I remember). Of course slalom is not exactly linked to pumping and visa versa. But I feel pumping and slalom kinda evolved in tandem. You may know better than me. It definitely comes from the early days of urethane wheels. Thank you for helping to pave the way!

I miss this era. I participated in the first Adrenalina marathon in 2010 and Jeff wasn't an unknown at the time. He was already skating with the Bustin guys and had made a name for himself. I remember him and Solomon Lang lapping me. But at least I finished 2hrs 10min. My legs were dead after 26 miles, good thing they had free pollo tropical after.

race pace vs training pace, heart rate, hows the turn ability of your board (i find running the stiffest setup that still lets me carve the corners without running wide so less effort is spent managing balance).... any info would be great trying to get back in to pushing longer distance. i realize preference and bodies are different just trying to save time working on learning and more on riding. also going from 77mm to 97mm was a huge deal for effort spent, big wheels keep on rolling.

I've never owned a "pumping" board but I first learned it in the late '70s on a homemade longboard with Indy 151s and Red Krypyonics. I got much better at it when I picked up skating again in the late '90s and actually got into the slalom scene. These days I don't skate anymore (i'm 60 with an artificial hip) but the last time I did skate was on a 35" giant slalom board with super adjustable precision GOG trucks, set up for pumping on smooth flat ground. Something like 65/15 degrees. I used to regularly ride over half a mile at a time without putting a foot down until my mid 50s!

Never having really tried pumping or tried learning how to, I watched your video, went down to a nearby carpark and managed to nearly do a full lap only pushing about 3-4 times per-side (rectangular space), then pumping away. I guess everyone is right and this is an excellent instructional video! During the practise sesh I also found sometimes the pumping action actually slowed me down, so that must be me "throwing my wieght" at a discordant timing. Still very new to this (2 months in as a complete novice) and so so much fine tuning on everything to be done :), I still get nerves every night, but thats how you know its somthing actually worth doing and has truly addictive potential as a hobby.

When you skate on a tread mill, does it feel like constantly pushing up a slow grade hill? Or can you pause a second or two and cruise without rolling off the back? I also was very interested in seeing the camber toe specifications. Are these used the same method as automobiles? It just sounds strange as I only have known of straight axles for trucks.
