Makita KP0800 Power Planer Review
This is my Review for the Makita KP0800 planer. It seems to be a solid unit and so far I am impressed with it's capabilities. If you want to see more of this planer in action, check out some of my project videos.
If you are interested in seeing a video about why I like the corded planer more than the cordless or if you have any questions about the tool, please leave a comment.
I hope you enjoy!

      I too am happy with the purchase of that saw, it’s still going strong although it’s not quite as precise as when it was new for some reason (I’m talking about a millimetre over the 300 mm cut width). I have a few Bosch tools and they are all quite good but most of my tools are Makita or Dewalt Thanks for watching

    Apparently the charger is not working well, since when you measured it before charging it it was at 12.13 and after taking it out of the charger it measured 12.03. In addition, lithium batteries differ from nickel batteries by their voltage of 1.2 to 3.7 so it is impossible for the original charger to give you the full voltage value of a lithium because it was designed to charge only nickel cadmium batteries and not lithium. The value at full load should be approximately 12.60v.

    • @toolreviewsandrestorations
      @toolreviewsandrestorations 2 місяці тому

      Yes, I know that the original charger didn’t work that well but I didn’t want to have to spend more money on a charger

    How well did the superglue hold up? I need to repair a KA200, and the whole base is unglued. So I'm wondering if superglue would be enough, or I need to use some other, stronger adhesive.

    • @toolreviewsandrestorations
      @toolreviewsandrestorations 2 місяці тому

      The superglue did an ok job but I would suggest finding a better adhesive if you want a more lasting job. The part I glued on with the superglue started to come off again after about five sheets of sandpaper.

      @@toolreviewsandrestorations Thank you! That confirms my initial suspicions, and will save me some trial and error. I'm planning to try with some JB Weld I have at home. Not too sure, but I understand that it could be more sturdy and durable.

    Quick question I know you mentioned not putting it too close to the end or it will break, makes sense. I noticed the bottom half of the bit is round and not spiraled, is that the only place you should set the countersink set screws on?

    • @toolreviewsandrestorations
      @toolreviewsandrestorations 3 місяці тому

      Yes, you should only set the screws onto the rounded part but I wouldn’t sweat putting the screws on the spiraled part as long as you don’t force the countersink into the wood too hard. Thank you for watching

    • @toolreviewsandrestorations
      @toolreviewsandrestorations 6 місяців тому

      Yes, the later tractors came with 12v electrical equipment and over time a lot of them got converted to 12v. However if your starter motor is indeed a 6v than you need to clean all the connections and get the motor rebuilt because a 6v starter that is almost dead or with poor connection to the battery will still start on 12v
