Welcome to my channel, The World and Alex.
My name is Alex, and in December of 2023, I quit my job, sold my apartment and all my belongings to pursuit a lifelong dream of traveling full time.
The idea of traveling solo, as a middle-aged man, is both exciting and daunting, so I decided to bring my camera, and document my experiences. Not only to share my journey but also in the hopes of showing how amazing and wonderful traveling and the world truly is. 🌍
My goal is to visit the traditional sights as well as the lesser-known places - on a budget - and do some volunteer work with animals whenever possible.

The Man That Rescues Dogs - Volunteering with Dogs in Thailand 🐶 🇹🇭
I volunteered for 2 weeks at the dog shelter, The Man That Rescues Dogs, in Thailand. The shelter currently cares for 850 dogs, and furthermore feeds up to 450 stray dogs in the surrounding areas.
It was an incredible experience, not only to see the amazing work that the staff does to better the lives of these dogs, but also seeing how happy the dogs are, despite having had a difficult time before being at the shelter.
It is estimated that there are about 750.000 stray dogs in Thailand, many are abandoned, or been involved in a traffic accident - and without a shelter like The Man That Rescues Dogs, that feed and take care of the dogs, they are faced with a future of neglect, pain and possible fatality.
I cannot recommend volunteering here enough - but if that isn’t possible, you can also give a donation, so they can carry on their important work and continue to spay and neuter stray dogs, so the population doesn’t explode to an even higher number.
