3 Days in Kyoto, Japan, on a Budget

- 3 days in Kyoto was not nearly enough. It is such a lovely city with so much history and culture, and even though it is a big city (with approximately 1,5 million inhabitants), it still has that small city vibe.
With numerous and beautiful shrines and temples, historic little streets, shopping opportunities and amazing restaurants, I would have loved to stay longer - definitely a place that I would want to come back to.
My favorite experiences in Kyoto were the Fushimi Inari Shrine with the Torii Gates, the Yasaka Pagoda (and the surrounding streets), the Bamboo forest in Arashiyama, and the Nijo-Castle.
About me 👨
My name is Alex, and in December of 2023, I quit my job, sold my apartment and all my belongings to pursuit a lifelong dream of traveling full time.
The idea of traveling solo, as a middle-aged man, is both exciting and daunting, so I decided to bring my camera, and document my experiences. Not only to share my journey but also in the hopes of showing how amazing and wonderful traveling and the world truly is. 🌍
My goal is to visit the traditional sights as well as the lesser-known places - on a budget - and do some volunteer work with animals whenever possible.

It looks so safe and peaceful at 4 o'clock in the morning! Just an extraordinary, special place, truly. Thank you for capturing the spirit of Kyoto for us!
Thank you 🥰
Beautiful Kyoto Japan.. Superb video 🎉. Definitely now in my travel bucket list.
Thank you very much 🥰
Wow I am heading there in September. Not sure if I can wake up that early to go to the bamboo Forrest. But I will try to get up as early as possible.
I’m sure you’ll have a fantastic time, regardless of the time 😉 Enjoy 🤩
