How much would you charge roughly for these works?
About 9k
I live in.a ground floor flat(owner). It is a leasehold. I have just got an EV. I will speak to them on Saturday. Do you know how this is handled and if your customer place is leasehold? Thanks
You need to talk with the owner of the freehold

I'm your 1000th subscriber! Looking forward to new videos, especially about "the renewable side of things".
Awesome! Thank you so much
Very nice interested in the Enphase systems. Growing popular within the UK. Looking forward to part 2. 😎👍
More to come!
Enphase = Great Quality 😊
Oh yeah 😊
Nice job not easy plus yer hands must have been frozen like fish fingers
Yes it was thanks for watching
Great video. Would be really interested in seeing the commissioning side of things.
Coming soon!
Brilliant video thank you. We are about to have solar PV panels installed, 31 Q Cell 405-watt panels (8 facing east and 23 facing west) mated to Enphase 31 IQ8A Inverters then an IQ Combiner 4C. Installer claims it will generate over 13 kWh in my location or about 14 kWh/year while our annual consumption is 11,580 kWh on average. We will add batteries next year and considering getting 2 Tesla Power Wall 3s or 4 Enphase 5Ps. Installer says my system will include a Cell Modem with 5 years of free cell service, then I pay for that service. I guess the advantage is I can still access all my data from the Enphase Cloud server on my phone even during a power outage if I don't have batteries. I think that's what he's inferring? Cheers from southern Illinois.
Thanks for the detailed response to our video, yes that sounds about right
What those grips you using to make off the gland? I use knipex cobra on the smaller ones but they look similar i normally make off with larger grips but as you know it scratches the gland.
These where some regular cheap grips nothing super special
Great looking install mate, nice job!
Thanks for taking the time to appreciate, takes a while to edit the videos so always good to hear feedback
Hi, at what point would you not have just a standard 3 phase cut out but go to having an MCCB panel fed from a big cut out?
So the client needed a 250a supply, allot of older cut outs only go to 100a, the mcb panel was required to feed larger equipment as standard boards usually only go up to 60a
Great video, really interested to see more renewables work. Need to get my thinking hat on for getting solar done here, you guys cover Kent!
Thanks for the walking words of encouragement, Kent might be a bit far however feel free to email the project over and we can take a look info@maydayelectrical.co.uk
We want more 🙂
On its way thank you
Those Enphase micro inverters are mounted upside down.
Yea we realised that after but we ended up clipping them to the panels
❤👍👍👍👍👍
Great content mate. Really interesting system. Look forward to part two. Keep up the great work 🤜🏻
Thanks jay appreciate you taking time to give us feedback means allot
@@maydayelectricalsolutionsl7601 You’re very Welcome thanks for taking the time to film & edit I know it’s absolute grind to do & get content out alongside doing the actual job in the first place 🤜🏻
👍👍👍👍👍
👍👍👍👍👍
Hi I have these on my old house I'm just wondering what current panels are compatible with the IQ7. I want to put these on my new house but self install as I'm an electrician now but without solar pv experience. My old system is JA solar panels with enphase m250's
Hello Dale Which ever panels that done exceed the voltage and wattage of the IQ7 will be fine
@@maydayelectricalsolutionsl7601 excellent thanks for the info i'll be installing small scale first maybe 4 - 6 panels and if that goes well i got an east and west roof to do this is a bit more challenging
Quick question do you need to install the board plate back on?
No not required as the wall Behind was the same building, it’s usually required if it was a joining wall, but good point
Beautiful work there bud
Thank you kindly
I always cut the armorings short then snap them off takes half the time and less fiddling 👌
Indeed although I get a cable cutting anxiety 😥
How much do you charge for the installation only? Am guessing your a eo approved too.
Please send an enquiry to info@maydayelectrical.co.uk
Hey. Great video. It's especially interesting to me as I live in a ground floor flat and I'm currently trying to get permission from the free holder to install an EV charger on the outside wall of my flat. However, even if I can get permission the cable run from the consumer unit to the outside wall is a bit of a pain. It would need running through an airing cupboard then through the bathroom behind the toilet and behind the bath then through the wall into the kitchen underneath the kitchen cabinets just to reach the outside wall. Do you think that cable run is safe and do you think a high tough cable would be ok or would armoured be better?
I would use 6mm twin and earth internally or hi tuff, then swa outside if it’s hurried or hi tuff if not buried
@@maydayelectricalsolutionsl7601 Thanks. I could actually go through the wall directly into the back of the charger. I would need load balancing though. Only a 60a main fuse so I was thinking of the EV ultra cable.
Could I ask what that little fold up chair you had, what is it called?
Sure just don’t stand on it and you’ll be fine - www.amazon.co.uk/Telescopic-Adjustable-Camping-Stool-Lightweight-Camp-Seat/dp/B08Z2Y1B3X/ref=asc_df_B08Z2Y1B3X/?tag=googshopuk-21&linkCode=df0&hvadid=500779883685&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=7540168400616562471&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=m&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=9045985&hvtargid=pla-1318213961277&psc=1

any surge protection?
Client didn’t want it after seeing the risk assessment
also id of likes to of seen your connections on the outside of the house ;-p
17:37 ONE MORE SCREW THERE HAHAHAHAHAHAHAH im crackng up.
You wanna see Anderson A2 which is the worst for screws
When drilling the holes in the trunking for your bend, place a block of wood inside the trunking to prevent unwanted bending of the trunking. It also prevents the drill slipping and scratching your brand new trunking. 👍
Will do Mike thanks for the heads up

Thank you for the support and more coming soon

Thank you we do try
Good job Mayday.
Good job Mayday.
Good job Mayday.
Thanks for the support john
Good job, hope your hand gets better.
Thanks john I now wear gloves all the time
Another thing, In the United States ,The 2020 NEC code requires Surge Protection on panels in new installations, not saying every country should do that, just recommended. Good work again.
Interesting and in the states you use allot of of arc fault detection devices right?
Yes, in all dwelling areas and ground fault in unfinished basements and garages, bathrooms, and kitchens, and also outside conditions. I'm a maintenance electrician since 1994, and have an associates degree in construction technology.
Pretty sweet deal, Good job.
Nice work fellas
Can't watch the video due to the audio. Getting a huge headache. :/
Earphones are a problem apologies
Great watch, keep them coming!
Hello mate, is the spd a hager one?
Correct it comes as a kit although the actual SPD part is not Hager
@@maydayelectricalsolutionsl7601 cheers bud👍
As a domestic spark,i would love to get into this industrial game. Great video. 👍
It’s allot easier on the body as you’re not ending down all day
Paxolin is basically a paper sandwich with phenolic resin! Circuit boards are still made of a similar material (solid resin bonded paper).
Couldn’t put it better myself
why did you install that main switch, the main switch in the mccb board can be used as main switch for installation , we do many a large commerical and just the mccb main switch is sufficent and saves the cost of the switchfuse on the job , and on our recent upgrade of 250 A ukpn only want 95mm just my opinion , still a good video
Hello Paul good question, UKPN spec sheet for us stated 150mm tails, 150mm lugs would not fit the mccb and also bending the 150s I wanted to avoid and UKPN don’t allow tri rated cabling in the head. But good point I just also prefer being able to isolate our installation without touching the head
@@maydayelectricalsolutionsl7601 Fair play , still good content as usual, can i ask if you have installed a tesla EVC a GEN3 and does it have PEN fault protection built in thanks
