    Ik like to see the performances of your Corsair but my advice is to stop moving your camera as if it is your garden sprayhose. The most enjoyable videos is where the camera stands still and the object that you want to show is moving.

    watching your video of sailing on FLATHEAD made me SOOO home sick for sailing ! I sailed on Lake Pend Oreille with my 27' Clipper Marine for 4 years THEN bought a 10.7 m ( 35' ) sloop in San Diego and sailed her to Florida, mostly alone Lived on her for 8 years. Did the Rio Dulce thing and ALL !! BUT now I'm 85 YO !! STILL FANTASIZE about it !!!

    Nicely done! Those are long, long days at the helm, covering a lot of distance in a fast boat! I would imagine that you were under time constraints, had to get back home on a given date. Unfortunately, you missed some of the best anchorages on the west side of the Island, and some of the best sailing as well. You'll have to come back and do it again!

    Nice video. What kind of sail feeder do you have that you can hoist from the cockpit with a roller boom that self feeds?

    • @sailingsvtriplet9109
      @sailingsvtriplet9109 7 місяців тому

      Ahoy! Thankyou! The slot feeder has been an issue in that when bought the custom North Sails 3Di Endurance mains’l I ordered the bolt rope too small hoping for less friction, but it slipped out of the mast track. I replaced the bolt rope but then the batten cars were placed too close and rubbed on the cylindrical slot feeder. We then moved the batten cars, then the battens had to be shortened. Now the mains’l feeds well, though requires strength to hoist and winch to finish. Sail is cut slightly long which requires Cunningham line at the tack for tension. But I LOVE THESE SAILS! I may never require replacements!!! Cheers.

    • @sailingsvtriplet9109
      @sailingsvtriplet9109 7 місяців тому

      Hey! Thanks for watching! The motor has an electric tilt lift controlled at the throttle. The motor is mounted on a bracket which allows the swing space. Can’t imagine a better system! Motor attaches to tiller using a releasable line threaded through a metal sleeve which falls away when released allowing the lift. Cheers!

    Nice tri! Your mast rigging looks very slack though might be worth tightening up. If you take the winch handle out before releasing the jib sheet during the tack it's much faster to sheet in the new sheet. Run downwind at about 140degreas true wind angle to get the fastest vmg possible Enjoy

    • @sailingsvtriplet9109
      @sailingsvtriplet9109 3 роки тому

      Ahoy kreandi!!! This year I began challenging myself in the high pressures under full sail since shortening the jib is standard for multihull racing. I am inspired by watching the fast F50s of SailGP as well as the America's Cup with the AC75. Reefing the mains'l on Triplet is a sacrifice of rigging time for little advantage when short tacking our upwind downwind course where pressures range from strong to nil. The jib furler is very quick in a pinch and then the screecher or spinnaker come into play for the run back. Thank you for watching!!!

      Thanks Sue!!! You must come and spend some time on the lake with us. Sailing Triplet is something no one forgets. We are looking forward to the rebuild of Detroit after the fire storm. The docks were spared but the marina offices and stores will have to be rebuilt, as will the town. We consider ourselves summer weekend residents of Kane's Marina, and we look forward to seeing the area reborn after so many lost their homes and businesses. We hope to continue flying the Triplet sails on Detroit Lake for years to come.

    Very nice video. So good to see a young woman out there grinding those winches! Maybe Dad needs a tiller extension for Christmas so he can get out of the cockpit up wind - LOL! Do you keep the crews weight forward so the stern doesn't drag?

    • @sailingsvtriplet9109
      @sailingsvtriplet9109 3 роки тому

      Thankyou!!! It was a great day of sailing! The high pressure is always a challenge and crews love to ride the high side. I prefer the weight forward of the shrouds to counter my own weight aft. Young ones enjoy the forward net views... High pressure raises the bows when close hauled, pressing the aft leeward ama under, forward weight counteracts...We all ride aft on the downwind run. And yes, I do have tiller extensions, but I normally single hand and still prefer the cockpit where I have quick access to the sheets when I'm pressed by gusts. Short tacking on the lake requires me to time the maneuvers carefully lest we fall into irons and become driftwood near shore... And I have learned to keep the screecher or spinnaker sheet in my hand, having stuck the bows a few times...Thanks again for joining us! Cheers!!!
