    I am someone who has experience applying plaster and drywall. I just applied this to my shower walls including the curbless shower floor. I would NOT recommend this product at all, especially for anyone who doesn't have extensive experience working with different plaster/concrete products. There is an issue with their formulation. They don’t have enough lime in the mix, a lot of sand and cement. The lime helps make the consistency of the material spread easily and have a long pot life. Surecret is hard to apply, it doesn’t spread easily, drys very quickly, clumps up and is very hard to work with. I was able to get it very smooth without the need for sanding using a plastic trowel from pavan to burnish to not leave any black marks from the trowel, but it took a lot of effort and experience on my end to be able to achieve that look with this product.

    • @texasdiymama
      @texasdiymama Місяць тому

      Thanks for sharing! I definitely think it’s a learning curve. I’ve never worked with Microcement or plaster - but one of the things I noticed and mentioned in the video is that yes, I was having to add water every 15 minutes because it would start to dry up. Then adding water would change the ratio which meant the color would change…it was NOT an easy job. lol…is there another brand of Microcement you’d recommend?

    • @Miguel.Garcia
      @Miguel.Garcia Місяць тому

      @@texasdiymama Yes although the majority of the products I'm going to list are from Europe some do have distributors in the US or can be shipped. I would recommend looking at different brands like Smartcret (from Spain but can ship to the US), Novacolor has a product named Wall2Floor (Novacolor has distributors in the US, one off the top of my head is FirenzeColor in Miami and NY), Meoded Paint and Plaster (based in LA) has a product named Concretta. All of these are more expensive than Surecret but they are easier to apply, and you're always going to get a consistent color just due to the fact that they come premixed with the color. If anyone else has any questions I can do my best to answer them! :)
