Im not a huge james white fan but it is hilarious that all the trolls come out against those who claim sola scriptura. Their main claim is, "thanks james, because of you, I am now catholic." That is a very weak reason to be catholic. I hardly believe any of those who say such things. They are just trolling.

I was born and raised Catholic, and raised my family through the RCC too. But during those years I had always felt an emptiness with the mass, communion, the circular readings, the sermons etc, so after I retired I found myself reading the bible cover to cover. The Old Testament showed me the nature of God, the unattainable Law, and how serious sin is, and the New Testament revealed to me the true Gospel of Grace through Faith in the finished work of Jesus. I knew then that I would never go back to the RCC. My wife and I now attend a church that is firmly rooted in the Word of God, and after a few years at the age of 70 I got water baptized. I've have tried talking to my sister and brother about my faith but my sister is afraid of testing her RCC beliefs against Scripture, and it seems my bother just doesn't care. Every day I read Scripture, and I find it sad that Catholics have such low regard to the Word of God....thinking that it's insufficient, incomplete, and not the final and absolute authority that we need for proper theology and doctrine. For those interested, I found an excellent book that compares the official Catechism of the Catholic Church with Scripture, using the RCC paragraph references, actual text (and yes I have my own copy of the catechism) and then appropriate Scripture for comparison. If you have any desire to properly understand the Gospel message of salvation, along with determining if the RCC is biblical and is even Christian, then I recommend this inexpensive book. It's titled Preparing for Eternity by Mike Gendron.

If I was to accept Sola Scriptura why would I ever listen to a pastor preach. I can get all truth just reading my Bible.

Usually Catholics dont want to debate Christians because Catholics are taught their religion and church is gospel whatever they do and say, but the Chrsitian study the bible and question everything against Gods Word. Now the man start out not reading from the KJV , thats an error , seeing Christians KNOW the KJV is the inspired Gospel not tampered with by men or darkness and the other versions are cahtolic created . also this man states that there are church authorities ( like elders ,deacons, bishops etc.) this is totally false, the bible is clear there is NO authorities in churches but GOD himself and any documents a believer writes or expresses may be edifying, wise, reveling and beneficial but certainly has no base of authority. The guy in the cowboy hat is WAY off base , the bible DOES claim to be the only base of authority , saying if any man add to or take from Gods word let him be cursed and God will remove his name from the book of life. He also does not have NAY valid points of refuting bible alone, he tried to used Gods oral words as a refute against Gods written words to attempt a ..foot in the door.. to other oral authority , other than GOD. With traditions, Jesus rebuked the RELIGIOUS traditions that went against His commands and Word, human traditions is different but its the religious traditions that tresspass GOD truth and WOrd. The Apostolic paradigm is made up as a religious tradition outside the bible , trying to make those who created it and use it, (at their own whim and direction and agenda ) as a HIGHER source than the bible itself.. this is both ironic and very wrong. Yes the church are the believers who were around with Christ then and after Christ as well , and the believers held no authority then nor do they now ,as the bible commands in Mathew 20: 25But Jesus called them unto him, and said, Ye know that the princes of the Gentiles exercise dominion over them, and they that are great exercise authority upon them. 26But it shall not be so among you: but whosoever will be great among you, let him be your minister; 27And whosoever will be chief among you, let him be your servant: Yes the Spirit of God leads ALL believers, the bible says the Spirit will do what Jesus says... SO its always returns to the Word of God as the base and only authority once again. His claim the "church authorities" decided such things as- Jesus is God, The Holy Spirit is GOD, Jesus is fully God and fully man etc. is false seeing that these things the bible teaches as fundamental truths , long before his religious church authorities existed, why are they trying to credit their religion for whats in the bible? He claims the bible doesn't teach that the bible is the only authority which is false ....in fact the apostles themself said that even if *THEY THEMSELF* preach another gospel let him be cursed ........ GAL 1: 8 But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed. 9 As we said before, so say I now again, if any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed. theres goes apostolic succession and authority BOTH right there. ..... also we read when the apostles went and preached in Berea they search the scriptures to determine weather the apostles were actually preaching truth or not and were honored for actually doing this, showing the apostles had no other word or authority on their own once again. Authority comes from the God, Anf Jesus - the wrold of God had spoken... His words but more importatly the deeds are the final authority... I am a convert to Catholicism from Protestantism. My life and relationship with Christ are His and the rest is history! Celebrating the Holy Mass is the most precious part of my life! I have to say for Protestants to even use the word “intercede” I’m sure trips them up too…

I'm Catholic my concerns in church are the Statues/Images of Mary/Jesus especially in holy week where there's Processions and people are like they are basically worshipping those statues/images thats against the Law

I guess I would have to ask if we don’t receive righteousness identical to Christ how can we even make it to heaven. Seems to me that the whole plan of Christ was to give the righteousness earned at the cross to all so we can be saved. If we had to rely on our own righteousness we would have never made it. I don’t understand Jimmy’s argument at all. We don’t get the title of Christ, so our names won’t be above all, but we receive the righteousness of Christ, because his righteousness is perfect.

Mr. White, with all due respect, swallow your pride and come back home to Rome. I'm confident that Jeff Durbin would follow right behind you. We'd love to have the both of you. 😊

This debate could have ended very quickly. All James White had to do is show everyone where sola scriptura is in the bible. But it’s a false doctrine and so he has to go here and there to try to steer you to believing that it exists.
