Awsome video
Great looking and working mower cant believe how good it mows those little saplings
Hey Ryan thats one hungry piece of machinery it looks and works great love the tractor power
Do you ever think to oil and grease your planer, and repair/stop the rust?
It gets oiled thoroughly before each use - doing a complete restoration isn’t planned as of right now but it’s kept indoors when not in use
@@ihredryan Rustoleum Rust Reformer in a spray can works well.
What an elegant machine! That doesnt need restoring, just oiling, which im sure you do. Its lovely.
I can see my granddad using one of these! Easy to see how dangerous they were. Imagine using one without ear or eye protection!
mind your fingers!❤
That's very cool. Thanks for sharing. You got some nice boards and the two main outputs of a wood shop - chips and noise! With the money that you saved, please buy a nice pair of safety goggles! Maybe even some hearing protection. (From an Aussie with hearing damage.) : )
my great uncle back in the early 60s had a H model tractor . He still used it even after he was using a walker too.
Love the dust collection system! You have to stand right in front of the flying chips to remove the board from the outfeed side. Still, really cool. I remember as a kid in the 60s my dad taking some logs out of our woods over to a guy that had a circular saw-mill powered from a steam tractor using a flat belt.
Yep, the dust collects everywhere! 😊
That's cool, never seen a planer powered by a tractor before!! Thanks for keeping this running. History is cool.
planer needs to be running around 3500rpm
Yes it would be good to run it at higher rpm , I agree , not able to with that tractor but might try to figure something out for the future.
What type of the planer?
It has A. Jardine Hespeler Ontario cast into the base , they were a small company fairly local to me over 100 years ago.
Lucky you got those guards out there! Works like a charm👏
Ice job
Great video !!!! Great music !!!!
About how fast you harvesting?
Awesome 👍
Wonderful! Life is good, just got my first 782. I know nothing but this gives me a good idea of the proper mowing speed. Thanks, Greg
They’re great machines - use the Red Power Forum website if you have questions about it
@@ihredryan Thank you Sir!
Hey man, just got the same problem here, where’ve you ordered the parts from? I’m from Australia and I couldn’t find the right parts, can I have the brand of the parts as well? Thanks
At the time I got mine right from the CaseIH dealer , that was mistake a though , way overpriced. I have resources now to cross reference the IH part number to bearing manufacturer numbers - I’d be happy to help you out, is it a 300 Utility you’re working on? And if so does it have an adjustable width front axle ? According to my parts catalog, different bearings were used on the adjustable tread front axle vs. The heavy duty fixed tread.
@@ihredryan it is a aw7 model with very similar design like yours, I have the bearing sizes that I can order in from store but the cup is damaged and I’m bit confused where to get them(as in your video it’s come in kits) where the store here sale is separate, also the seels is unknown parts to get as well Big thanks legend!!
@@chaofang-lw1qw wow very cool - I have never seen one of those models in person , I don’t think any made it over here to Canada. Do you have the IH part numbers for the bearing and seals ? I can cross reference them for you and we can go from there
@@ihredryan I just rewatched the video and I can confirm it’s 99% identical shaft as mine, I’d assume they using the same bearing(from identical bearing and gaskets) the bearing number I got from store are Timken 2878 (made in Australia) Imperial 1.375 inch Inside bearing is 1.6879 inch
@@chaofang-lw1qw I bought the bearings in a set right from the dealership. Nowadays i prefer to look for new old stock on Ebay, generally quite a bit cheaper and you can't beat vintage timken!
That is a great video What kind of head was on the first combine
That's a stripper header made by Shelbourne. They only remove the head off the plant and leave full height stubble - supposed to help with wind erosion etc. If you don't want the straw, may as well save the combine some work and leave it standing !
G day Started watching & heard Gor lightfoot realize I had watch it before Boy that song making it Ths
Ih on top!
I love it! That's neat.
Very nice old tractor... thank you for the video!!
Is it quieter than an electric model?
Sounds great
Not true on the point of the oil and on a hill. I own one from new in 1985. I currently have it on the bench replacing gaskets. Has an oil pump that’s around 5 psi and the sump is on left side in the very bottom of engine case. On the side the dip stick is on there is an oil galley plug to hook a pressure gauge to.
Yes that would be a series 2 KT17, the series 1 which the earlier 782s were equipped with did not have the pressurized lube
I am looking for wheel weights just like that can you tell me any information on them. Also complain to YT because there is a lot of your video and comments that are covered over by fricking ADS! Screw YT!
The IH part number for that weight is 351371R1 , there are lots around as they were also used as front wheel weights for several popular models of larger tractors.
I got a extra pair , there just hanging on my shed wall
Just bought one just like it today!😊
Well built machines , ours has been great ! I think you’ll be happy with it !
Cit costa o stupita pentru tractorul de marca T 80
WOW! AMAZING COLLECTION OF CLASSIC WELL DESIGNED IHC TRACTORS! AMONG THE BEST BUILT HARD PULLING TRACTORS.
I have a very similar 24' square head planer made by Humphrey in New Hampshire around 1860. It's belted to a 1950 IHC W4. I use it all the time and it does a great job. It's fed the lumber that comes off a 1910 54" saw running off the same tractor. I paid $150 for the planer, $600 for the tractor and $700 for the saw about 25 years ago. It didn't take long to pay them off.
Sounds like a great setup!
Very nice vid. I'm working on a B-414 diesel now. Many fuel problems from setting 10 years.
Being from 83, that should be an MTD built model. If the serial tag says Cub Cadet, then it's an MTD. They bout Cub from International around 1981 I believe and continued to make the red cubs for a few years before changing them to yellow and white. Maybe not quite as good as an International built cub, but still a fine machine better than almost anything made today.
Yes you are correct it’s a CCC
Love These Tractors
My dad restored a 1948 Super M and when you started it, it ran on gas and when warmed up……..I kid you not you pulled a lever and it would cough and would switch to diesel!! One side of the block had a carburetor and the other a diesel pump. Wide front axle and I believe a rare tractor these days. I wish we still had it!
That's amazing they used to do crazy stuff! Did it have a Pony motor or literally a mulit fuel engine?
@@alexmatthews2332 all same engine….one side had a carburetor and the other side a diesel pump….started using gas and when warmed up you back off the gas lever and raised the diesel lever. It would cough and then you were humming with diesel!
No kidding needed - The MD and Super MD are legends. Nothing more satisfying than snapping it over into diesel and hearing it bark then the whole voice of that engine changes.
I'm a JD guy, but would take one of these in a heartbeat.
Ive got to find me another 300 I can work with . Enjoyed the video
That is a real shitty job of plowing!!!!
Sounds like that engine has a bit of a knock.
I'm looking at the split, as I sometime have to split my 74 year old 1948 C . frost plug's have rusted pin hole I think accounts for tiny little bit in bell housing. Your split seems to be going real good .
Ya it’s a pretty straight forward split , take your time and you’ll get er done
I worked with all four of those tractors on my dad’s farm
My grand dad had one of those garage kept all it's life my father gave it to me and sadly it sits out in the woods he put it together right but parked it because he thought he put it together wrong and gave it to me that would be a fun restoration bring back memories of mowing with it.woupd have been fun to mow golf course with it this summer.
They are extremely well built little machines , hopefully you can resurrect yours at some point !
Well my son wants to buy himself a Farmall 200
Fun little tractors , this 200 is a friend’s , more or less identical to my Super C , try to find one with fast hitch , makes them very handy
I got a 100 I want a 200
Love that your lady is hanging out with you while you plow your field
I'm gonna try both this year little genius and the C20
Love the ih old iron and the great music😊
Planer sort of looks like an American Sawmill Machinery model. It might work more efficiently if run around 1500-2000 rpm. Have fun, be safe.
