365 DAYS LATER...My Miraculous One-Year Recovery Story 🚲
It has been a year since my accident and even though life changed a bit, I'm forever grateful to be here sharing my journey. I took it easy this past year since my brain wasn't totally ok, but I feel more like myself. Even thought I won't be out there riding my bike on the streets anymore I will still be living that endurance life. From marathon training to swimming and riding on Rouvy, I will still be healthy, happy and active. If anyone wants to join me for a ride I will be starting up group rides on Rouvy again soon. If you don't already have an account go to www.rouvy.com and use the code TERRI1M to get a 30-day all access free trial.
In case you're wondering what accident I'm referring to, you can watch these video updates I managed to post last year.

Five months ago I was out riding my bike and while going straight through a green light a Chevy Tahoe wasn't paying attention and didn't give me my right away. They struck me and nearly fatally wounded me. Luckily, I somehow managed to survive even though most people thought it wasn't possible. If you want to see what happened you can check out my previous video in which I cover the details of ...

I don't know how it happened that day, but I was hit by a car while riding my bike. Honestly, I don't remember anything from that day or the week following it. I hear stories from friends and family who were there since the beginning and it's hard to believe how lucky I am. I am staying positive throughout all of this because it's hard not to when I have been appointed as one of the luckiest pe...

    I tried Rouvy and found the camera angle so weird and the fact there is no sound makes it less immersive than Zwift despite the real visuals. Also it’s an absolute ghost town this game. It feels depressing. The high social world of Zwift makes it a no brainer for me and workouts and group rides are so much better. But I’m glad I tried it.

      I haven’t been riding lately because I have been running almost everyday. Rouvy has three ghost riders, Emma, Peter and Will that are pretty much like bots. They adapt to your ride and challenge you to perform better. To each their own. I tried out Zwift but it wasn’t for me. I like the real life options on Rouvy and I have a nice group of real people who join me whenever I do group rides. You should join us for one someday.

    The marathon for which you registered on November 3rd in Las Vegas is not a “Rock ‘n Roll” event. Rather it is operated by the Brooksee group. The Rock ‘n Roll Las Vegas running series is in February and no longer offers a full marathon distance event.

    RIDE ON ..... yep, I agree, the social part is annoying and bewildering to me too. I race on Zwift but I cannot 'get' the app. Cant tell the duration of the climbs nor how steep, drafting doesnt 'feel' like drafting in a bunch = no benefit. Never can tell when t get out of the seat, so I have done hour long races seated at max FTP and then died. I, like you, dont want to be spending my time messaging and ride oning and blah blah....... Im just starting the 14day Rouvy trial, hoping its the experience that I want. We tried FULGAS, still 'something' missing in that....... cheers

      @imterribee 7 місяців тому

      Are you talking about the half marathon in November? That’s going to be the inaugural race for the Las Vegas marathon and they have a half then too. That’s November 3rd so the weather is perfect for running then. There is also the Rock N Roll half coming up the end of February. Usually that’s sort of chilly but it’s already 21° Celsius during the day the past few days so no telling what it’s going to be like in four weeks. It’s definitely worth coming here to run either race. The RNR half is so fun. They close the strip for us to run at night and the vegas marathon and half is a downhill course so it will be fun and fast. You must say hi if you make it all the way here from Germany. 😁

    Your comparison to climbers and skydivers is so wrong. These are inherently dangerous. Cycling is mostly dangerous due to cars. A small slip of your hand or equipment failure does not mean death for cyclists. Cars however frequently kill us

    Vegas does nothing for cyclists to be able to safely ride in places that aren’t the road. It’s disgusting and you should move to a city with real cycling infrastructure or lobby for more cycling friendly infrastructure. Cyclists shouldn’t have to be in painted gutters or in the road. Best wishes with your recovery

    • @imterribee
      @imterribee 7 місяців тому

      Totally agree! We have the Southern Nevada Bicycle Coalition advocating for safer roads for cyclists, but it's a tough challenge because we need a culture shift to really be ok here. At least they are doing good work on helping get more bike trails around the city. I suppose the baby steps are better than nothing.
